As a goth, I’ve been dying my hair black box dye since I was 16. It suits me better than any colour as it makes my pale grey eyes pop. I’m here to represent the goths.
I loved when I dyed my hair black and I’m wanting to again! Do you have to do anything in between dying it like use color remover or anything? Or do you just dye over the previously dyed hair? Anything to help keep it healthy and soft?
hey what box dye do u use?
goth style with the light eyes & dark hair are so pretty!

Thank you for speaking for us 🖤
"So I have high hopes. I don't care if they are delusions". I felt that one.
Fr though
I've been blue-black box dying my hair for years, with great results. It's always deep and inky and suits me really well. I feel like anything lighter makes me look mousey and bland. The inky blue gives it a really nice shine.

Same!
I did the same for years. Then when I decided to do something different it was a nightmare.... it cost me a fortune to get to a brown/light brown(as well as time)
Exactly 💯 Me too.❤
I’m black and my hair has always been black with a brown tint in the sun… but once I discovered blue black box dye…. What a game changer… but I don’t think I was the targeted audience for this video 😂 but everyone looked absolutely stunning 😍
Me too. My hair looks jet black but it’s the darkest of darkest brown you can have.
Mines like that . Ive been blonde highlighting it for past 3 years now. @GabbyEsq
Agreed. I've been dying my hair blue black since the 90s but I'm Black so I guess it's not a huge deal 😂
oooo I am biracial and have dark brown hair but now you're making me wonder if I should try dying mine blue black just to see if I like it. I've been wanting to dye it somehow, but I'm 40 and have a very dark aesthetic so no color really seemed right for me. This sounds like a fun experiment.
I love black or dark brown with diff undertones, once you find the one that works for you it's awesome
I actually love the black box dye look. How deep black it is. Every time I get it done blackest black at the salon, there’s always other color hues like red when I’m in the sun.
My History teacher used to color her hair black & it always had a green tinge to it. Maybe it was the fluorescent lighting in the classroom, but I'll never forget that hair.
@@loloholmes2793she was probably using an ash based hair dye.
I will agree with you on this for life 🖤
@@loloholmes2793 I’d be ok with the green color over the red that shows up in my hair haha.
@@user-tk4gr9zo7t I just spent 170 at the salon for a cut and all over color dye. I have mid length hair. The $3 box dye is very attractive 😂 My old stylist from a few years back who unfortunately lives in another state, plans to give me some mixs from like Sally’s or similar to save me money. If that doesn’t work and doesn’t* gives me that black box dye color I love so much, then it’s box dye for life 🖤❤️🔥🖤
I have box dyed my hair black several times, and it always game out great, I love having black hair. I'm SUPER pale and cool toned so I feel like it makes sense.
same here
Same! I feel my best & much more confident with black hair
Me too! I actually LOVE IT
Same! 😊
Same. I’m a red toned brunette but my skin tone is pale cool tone. I love to be black haired or blonde or pastel/sunset. It’s such a problem 😂😂😂
I used to always like my hair red, like bright vibrant red. One day I decided to dye my hair black just to see how it looked. I will never dye it another colour; I LOVE it! Oh and my husband always does it for me. My husband. A software developer. He does a super job. 😊
i love how you gas up your husband. and that he does your hair. go you and your software developer husband!!
My Dad used to cut my hair for me and he always did an awesome job! He was an engineer and I think the attention to detail that made him successful in his job made his great at making my hair look wonderful.
My bf (not husband) is a software developer too! He also cuts and dyes my hair for me! 🥹 I love him sm Edit: You probably can’t see it in my pfp cause it’s grown out a lot, but he gave me a “butterfly cut” and it was AMAZING! 😍 He did it before a Halloween party lol. He gave me the best haircut I’ve ever had!! I also was a red head girl, tried other colors, dyed brown rn, and I’ve been wanting to go black for years even before red.
For real, your explanation of why you'd choose permanent vs semi/demi-permanent made my brain explode a little. I never *really* understood when you'd choose which type of color, but the lift/no lift makes so much sense! Your explanation was so clear and concise and thank youuuuu!!
Can we appreciate how much brad keeps it together with people doing it wrong or right and I love how he calls everyone beautiful ❤❤
Does it not mean that being called beautiful has ni meaning then? xd
@@zweij im sorry but I’m confused on ur comment I’m just saying that I like how he is nice to his subscribers by calling them beautiful I never see that here on YT I’m also slightly dyslexic so maybe that’s why I’m having trouble understanding ur comment nothing against u

He's just AWESOME! I LOVE his videos!💞
My extremely unprofessional tip regarding getting dye on your face & neck is to basically slather Vaseline around hairline and back of neck. That way the dye comes right off if you accidentally get any on you. :)
Coconut oil works well too :)
Conditioner works too.
Basically any cream, oil or heavy lotion along your hairline will keep yourself clean
I do this every time and it's a game changer!! 😊
No because same. Getting it off is worse than washing the color out☠️
My tip for fellow box dye girls, is buy a box of latex gloves. The gloves that come in the box dye packages are absolute garbage. Way too large and horrible. The skin tight latex gloves make things so much easier to do. I also dye my eyebrows when I do my hair. My hair is fairly vibrant red and I get compliments on it a lot. I've colored it myself for decades.
wow how old are you? 40+? not in a mean way
@snickerswo1f519 What the hell kind of comment is that? Is being over 40 in some way exceptional? How freaking young are you that someone being an adult is comment-worthy?
Thank you!@@trala8911
Dude that revlon black dye is my FAVORITE. It’s soooo black doesn’t smell bad cheap and 1 box does my whole head and covers any greys... amazing hair dye
I used to dye my hair blue-black in the 90s and it looked amazing, so healthy and shiny! I’ve never had so many compliments on my hair 🖤
I did that in 2009! Blue black is such a cool color
For cold undertones. :( I did it in 2015 and I looked terrible, very "sick". My natural hair is dark and I look better in it than light, so I was confused, I found out years later that only cold undertones (winters especially) can pull of "blue black" hair and I envy you so much.
I just did mine purple-black and Ive gotten so many compliments!! 💜
I look terrible in darker hair colors. It ages me so much more than dying my hair silver. Crazy how I look younger with silver hair than with black hair. 🤷 To each their own and not everyone is meant to be of a color. I don't look good in blonde either, unless it is icy blonde or really bright strawberry blonde.
right now I'm in my blue-black phase and god, that's the best color existing! even when it fades a little after some time, I just put blue shampoo to make it shiny and add back the indigo undertone.
I love my mysterious witchy black cloak of hair🖤 That’s why I think it would be amazing if XMondo came out with an “onyx” or “obsidian” black colour depositing mask! It would fit with the gemstone/mineral marketing, and I would finally be able to toss out the box dye :)
I honestly didn’t have much appreciation for black hair until I read your comment. 🖤🖤🖤
Shout out to the witchy vibe women out there. I'm happy with the way it looks, and not all of us can afford the salon...🤍💙🧿
Amen
Yes yes yes yes yes!!!!
I love that idea!
As a black box dye girly, not all black box dyes are created equal. Shoutout to Nice and Easy BB2 because it’s the best on the market.
Yes😍 I’ve been blue black since high school and nice n easy blue black is the only one that doesn’t fade on me 🖤🖤🖤
Hi Brad 😊 a few years ago my late mother wanted me to dye her hair brown she was 94 when she passed well i got her ready with a towel around her when i got the colour to mix up i said oh i can't do it mother its black! She said i know it was only £1 so I got it! I went ahead and oh my god it was blacker than a chimney back.lol she looked in the mirror and said seriously i always loved Elvis Presley black hair 😅 we had a good laugh 😊
Listen. Sometimes we cant afford to spend $300 on a hairstylist and we need a change. So we go to the store and buy a $12 box of color and dye our dark brown hair black.
Bro you spending $12 on box dye?
@@laerramarie2620 maybe they need more than one box. it's always a mistake to not have enough product ^^
Apparently a $3 box is truly out there

The first girl I knew would look good with black hair. As she has a light complexion and really beautiful ice blue eyes.
I love when I do a black or blue/black phase with my hair. I’m basically the color of a sheet of paper and it contrasts so well with the black hair, instant goth vibes 🖤🖤🖤🖤
I love the timing of this video. I’ve been feeling like I need to change my hair color pretty soon, then Brad drops a hair transformation video that starts as absolute chaos but ends shockingly well Pray for me y’all… the box dye in my cabinet is calling to me
DO IT, DO IT, DO IT! 🥳🥳🥳
Update 👀
Don't do it girl.. Buy salon developer level 10 or even a 5 if your going dark
Hair dye does go bad, so be sure to check the date on it (can find how online).
What Brad doesn't realize is most box dyes are a very thin watery consistancy so they soak through the hair and saturate it very easily. It makes it very hard to mess up and miss spots on purpose. It makes it a lot less important to section into really fine sections like you need to with bleach or thicker semipermenant dyes since they're expecting it to be used by a lot of people without experience doing hair.
I think he probably knows lol
He literally does this for a living... I'm sure he knows
@@ewbrainwormies doesn’t seem like it to me

What Brad doesn’t realize 🤓☝️ lol yeah hairdresser doesn’t know how hair dye works? He’s a colorist maybe you didn’t realize 💀
Im a natural blonde. Ive been coloring my hair black since 1997. Im also a licensed cosmetologist and demi- permanent blue black (ammonia free) is what works best for me. If you have a certain look or know if you're warm, cool, or neutral, then just about anyone can wear a shade of black in their hair.
I'm really pale with olive green/yellow undertones and blue grey eyes. I was always told I couldn't pull off black hair lol I'd be interested to know your opinion!
Which hair dye brand do you use for Demi?
I always used to start at the top with box dye too. My reasoning was that if you start at the bottom and run out of dye, it's super obvious. But if you start at the top, you've at least got enough coverage to get down the street and get another box. Also, yes with the getting it on your arms and face. Colouring the back of your hair is hazardous. That's why I always prepped my skin with barrier cream before hand.
It’s easy .. I just cut off 30 inches
Can't believe I finally made it to a video so early. I wanted to say thank you Brad! Thanks to you I was finally able to break free of my fears and change up my hair this year! Instead of having my long brown hair that I've had since childhood, I made the change and now have a blue bob with a fringe 🥺 your tips and videos are always so informative and interesting. Thank you for being you and keep it up!!!
I love this
💙
Fantastic!
Love all of these girls, but the last girls energy is everything, and she looks stunning with black hair.
I dyed my hair box dye black for 10 years! Applied it like a shampoo, no technique at all but I loved it. Somehow it suited me. Two years ago I decided to go lighter, it took a year of lightening by a professional to get it out. This video slightly tempted me again but it’s too much of a commitment
Same to every point, except I'm only on year three
Me too! I went back to my natural level 7 hair and I miss the dark hair so much. I just hated how fast my roots would grow out and it would look like I had grey hair naturally. Lighter roots look so weird when your hair is dark🤣
funny cause I noticed that oil "masks" and cleansing shampoos gradually fade the pigment from the hair without any bleach intervention... in a matter of weeks.
I box dyed my hair for as long as I can remember I started to let it grow out over 2 years ago ….I have about 4 inches of black left in my hair
Why is black box dye harder to remove? I have virgin brown hair n wanting to dye it black, and i read some few articles online that black dye will washes out eventually
The last girl is extremely beautiful!!! They all are, but the last girl's hair really made a dramatic change, and it suit her amazing!!
Dying my hair blue black and cutting bangs was my entire high school experience 😂 it's still tempting sometimes.
I was blonde and I really wanted to dye my hair black but my hairdresser said no so she colored my hair dark brown. The brown hair was amazing but I wasn’t satisfied since I wanted black hair so I colored my hair black myself with a professional hair dye and it looks amazing!! I feel like a lot of people just hate the idea at first. Black is the new blonde. 😌
Should’ve gotten a refund since the stylist didn’t do what you requested
I went from platinum to black and i love it
Exactly, for years I've had people try to get me to go blonde did that when I was a teen and early 20's got tired of it
I'm so annoyed that hairstylists refuse to give people what they want. You can give your opinion or talk about the reasons they might not want it, but telling someone no is bullshit. I always do my own hair now and I'm happier and less poor. Also, people hating on jet black hair is foolish, at best.
It’s good it was brown first then black though cause it filled in the blonde so it didn’t turn weirdly green
Hello Brad! I have been using Revlon Colorsilk in Ultra Light Sun Blonde or, sometimes, for a change, Ultra Light Ash Blonde for 20 years. I use it not because of the price, but because it literally comes out perfect EVERY time. It also contains no amonia and doesn't damage my hair. As a matter of fact, my hair comes out in better condition. I have been a trained Beauty Advisor for over 20 years and have used every hair color imaginable. I have also had my hair professionally double processed before. Revlon Colorsilk is always the one I go back to. The "Ultra" colors are high lift and lift my natural medium/light brown hair to a pale, even blonde. People ask me where I have it done all the time. In my profession, I would have regular seminars with Revlon and I would ask them how they can sell it so cheap. They told me it's because they no longer do commercials and print ads, so they can pass the savings on to the consumer. I cannot say enough good things about this product. I would purchase it if it were $50 a box.
i used to use their red and really want to go back to it i think this is my sign. it’s great if you have a color you love that you just want to be consistent everytime
My mom’s go to is that brand, too! Her absolute favorite and it works every time, too! She always gets the Natural Blue Black shade 🥰 I’ve also used it before when I was in my burgundy era and got so many compliments 💓

Sells itself! :)
Love your comment. I also solely use this Revlon brand hair dye and I have never had a single issue with it. Nice to know that they don't even need to advertise. The results and word-of-mouth keep the brand on top. ❤
I used to use this exact brand hair dye in the traditional “Black” color as a young adult. I LOVED the way it looked. My hair is already pretty close to black (I’m italian) so I have cool-toned brown hair. This hair dye used to really make my features pop. I loved it, and it was super convenient & affordable.
Omg, Brad Mondo gives the ultimate hair advice. He has straight up taught my don't cut, color, or do anything to my hair if you aren't confident in your skills. Just let the salon do it!!! Love you Brad!
I am so grateful that he makes these videos to remind me to leave my hair to the professionals as well! 🙌🏽
How do you improve your own skills unless you practice though? 😅
Did anyone else read Anne of Green Gables as a kid? Remember the part where she tried to dye her hair "raven black" and it came out green... I always thought it was just dodgy old-timey dye (and like it probably was that too) but now that I understand more about hair color theory I know why that happened to that poor girl 😭
I'm a redhead and I tried to dye the ends of my hair black in high-school. After 2 washes it was seaweed green. Thankfully it was just the ends so I just chopped them off.
🤯
Brad your videos are the BEST, out here educating speaking facts and in such a sweet manner you're amazing 🖤
omg, I LOOOOVE this blonde to black/brunette videos so much. Please do more of them Brad xx
I had black hair for 3 years. I'm finally growing it out, and it feels good. The upkeep for black is a lot especially when your roots are brond.
Yes! I have strawberry blonde hair and I’m not a person to maintain something like that so then I look like I’m balding when the light red comes thru 🥴
Natural blondes look horrible with black hair
Omg yes! I always think that’s why Billie eilish went for that hot color root 😂😂
So true! There's nothing like dying your already pre-lighten hair & scalp with black box dye to feel something. 😆
My comfort color is a very dark black/magenta combo. After 3 kids and turning 40 soon I ran out yesterday to Sally's to do just that, I needed the pick me up. ❤ I totally feel the last lass.
the last girl definitely slayed!!!! STUNNING
I am naturally blonde, my hair was a cool red for four a very long time. Then I dyed it box black for about 5 years. It did look surprisingly good with my rosey skin and blue eyes but - my lord - getting it out was a NIGHTMARE. I earned the nickname “penny head”. I went back to red for another 7 years then went to my salon to go back to blonde. After months of slowly lifting the red out of my hair it’s mostly back to a pretty beige blonde, but I’ll tell you, that brass on my ends is stubborn.
@@ticcitobyGaaraRules I cannot understand how people can can change their color repeatedly. It’s such a process to do it without destroying your hair. Every time I’ve changed my color I’ve stuck with it for AT LEAST 5 years. Maybe it was PTSD from having just removed the previous color 😂
@@BoringTroublemaker my PTSD was to remove henna from my hair. Nothing worked 😩😭 I needed to wait 10 years, for my hair to grow out.
@@ayahgrig9218 oooh yeah- I’ve avoided henna like the plague.
@BoringTroublemaker I have been doing fantasy colors every 8-12 weeks for over 10 years. Repetitive all over bleaching killed my hair, so I have gone to a professional for the past 2 years. The first visit she lightly bleach it. It took 6 months to completely get to a level 8-9. We didn't dare try to get to a level 10. She only bleaches new growth and only pulls the bleach through for the last few minutes. Any remnants of the fantasy colors lighten enough to recolor without causing additional damage. I also co-wash 1-2x a week, which keeps my hair healthy and makes the color last much longer. That's my secret to vibrant, colorful hair. I'm back to doing it myself but use professional dye instead of box dye. There's much more control with pro color, too. I can do sections without it bleeding. Do your homework as to what you need to buy. Not sure if you're in North America, but the people at Sa**lly are helpful. Do your homework, though. The people at Sally's aren't always knowledgeable enough to make good recommendations for your particular hair type. They carry X-Mondo now, too, if you want to try it. The price point has kept me from using it, although their price is about 40-50% cheaper than Brad's site. I may start using it the next time I color. Hope this helps! 💜💜💜
@@VampFaye that’s great advice. I see my stylist every 6 weeks to have my blonde touched up and my highlights freshened up if needed now. I’m sticking with blonde for the foreseeable future until I decide to gray transition. But my stylist is a good friend who works at a high end salon and barely charges me anything, so I’m lucky to be able to do it. I’ve sworn to him not to touch my hair again 😂
Brad's hatred for black box dye is the most powerful energy source on planet earth 😂
This is a video after my own ❤, thank you Brad. I’ve black box dyed my hair for… almost 35 years. Granted, my natural color is almost black. I get rid of my red highlights with blue black. Please everyone- use either sunscreen stick around your hairline or aquaphor to stop it from staining skin. (Sunscreen stick helps behind ears and in neck) AND have 5-6 baby wipes out and ready for immediate wipe off of any drop/drip. Lastly, wear nitrile gloves that fit your hands.
The timing lol. I just dyed my hair black 2 days ago. And honestly I love black. Used to have when I was a teenager. But onto the video. These ladies are all killing it with the black hair! It suits them so much, especially the last girl. Like I'm in love! 🥰
The last girl looked absolutely stunning with that thick black hair…love her personality too! Very relatable that sometimes you just want to look different so you can feel differently
I respect that Brad can admit when he was wrong 😂
Brad Mondo is the most fun to watch!! 😊 I used that last lady's black dye, Revlon Colorsilk 10, for years and absolutely loved it!
Honestly that revlon black dye is by far the best box dye i've ever used. I've used it several times and it gave me beautiful results each time. Other black box dyes on the other hand... can't say the same for them lol
I've used the black from Revlon Colorsilk more than once, but recently just using dark brown. At least it doesn't have ammonia :)
The revlon one is definitely the blackest black ❤ My favorite is the L’Oréal one called “black leather” , I used that one the most
I was born with black hair that went brown. When I colored my hair jet black I LOVED it, someday I will be doing it again. Not until I’m done with any and all fashion colors. Black is my spirit color for hair color. 🙃
Not sure which is funnier. The water flowing from your eyes effect or the jaw dropping after they are done. 😲 The shock on your face when it turns out priceless. 😮 Thanks Brad for doing these videos. So entertaining. Appreciate you.
You never fail to make me laugh with your reactions Brad 😂
You really outdone yourself. This one was even funnier than your other videos 😂😂 you had me rolling
I love a black hair moment, especially when I’m going through something 😅😂
I used to dye my hair black and I've never felt more confident! But the upkeep was too much lmao
Fair skinned, blue eyed girlies with jet black hair is my kryptonite. You look amazing and y’all know it
I used to always use 2 boxes when I used to buy box dye. I've been cosmic black and mystic violet too. Loved how vibrant the mystic violet was.
I really wanted to dye my hair black when I was a teenager but I’m so glad my mum didn’t let me do it. I’m sure I’d still be trying to get it out now, a decade later 😂
It washes off easily if you wash your hair often. Obviously if you want to dye it blonde or anything around those shades , then of course it’s a pain in the butt , but it eventually washes off to your natural color
@@brendaserrano3477that’s not true. the pigments, especially the red pigments in black box dye never wash completely off. There’s always some sheen over the natural color that becomes less visible the darker your natural color is, but those pigments stick to your hair. Permanent box dye also uses 5 to 10 developer to blast the first layer of your hair open to let the pigments enter the follicle. Just based on that, your hair is never reverting to its original state, you have to let it grow out. The only color that really washes off is semi-permanent haircolors. The rule of thumb here is: if you have to mix ingredients to create a hair color, it’ll cause (minimal) damage and it’ll stick, if it’s just a tube of color, no mixing required, then it’ll wash off.
I dyed my hair black 15 years ago, and it doesn't.go.away 😂 now I have just embraced the reddish/brownish color it has left me with and keep coloring my roots with a color that looks like it 😂
I've gone from platinum blonde to red (for over 10 yesrs) to black, back to red, back to black for the last 25 years. I recently went from black to red back to black in 8 days lol. I got the black out in one step with Loreal color remover and my hair is totally fine.
@brendaserrano3477 yes! My hair is naturally blonde. I've used boxed dye since I was 12. I'm 39. I recently went from back to red back to black in about 8 days. I was my hair daily. I dye it with permanent black boxed dye. After about 6 weeks, the black is almost gone from my mids and ends. My blonde roots come through and there's about 3 inches of black still bx it's fresher hair.
One time I told my hair dresser I wanted to go from fire red to black and I’m so glad she talked me out of it.
Why?
That last one SHOOK me 🤯 black really is her color, she looks awesome
Watching your hair videos the last few years has really given me an ACTUAL UNDERSTANDING ive never had before on demi, semi and perm color. I WISH in late 2020 when i colored my hair with a perm burgundy brown i knew what it would do. The color initially was BEAUTIFUL....BUUUT now its STILL lingering. My hair is lower back length and the color is still lingering on the last 5 inches of hair and ive gotten 6 inches cut off too already. I wish i used demi or semi now and ill be ecstatic when that last bit of color is finally gone!

Black hair looks good on a lot of people.. asians, africans, african americans, caribbeans, indians, and also on a lot of caucasian people. I spent a majority of my high school years with black hair. I've noticed that I feel the best in darker colors.. medium browns, dark brown, black.
Very few people have black hair though. maybe less than 2%
@@sew_gal7340 But it looks black.
Natural black (1b) is literally one of the most common hair colours. Most ethicities, and even a lot of white people have it, me included. The only reason we feel otherwise is because white people (anglosaxon types) are still way overrepresented in media.
@@JustChillingOnTattoineThat's 100% true, but I feel like Brad was specifically talking about the darkest shade of black here. That inky, almost blue sort, that's so dark it's unnatural-looking (which is the point). That is pretty rare to have naturally; you'll mostly find it in Asian people, and even then that dark is still pretty rare for them. Natural black hair will almost always have some brown undertones.
This is literally an example of using the wrong formula and getting the right answer lol They tried to stamp it out of us in school, but in real life it works! Also, I was just thinking that Brad looks really good today, and then he says he doesn't have any Botox. Like, sir, your natural face is stunning.
I had such high anxiety watching all these. 😂😂 can we just say how good you are looking Brad!! ❤❤
I used to box dye my hair jet black on the regular, let it fade for a few months then box dye a wine or other deep red over it. Super pretty, always good results. I’m having fun with bright, obnoxious colors for the time being now though ❤
Brad: no one looks good with black hair Also Brad: you look so good Also also Brad: it actually looks so good on you you look amazing
He's mostly just babbling. On this video and every other. And black hair suits tons of people.

Brad, your facial expressions while watching these videos always add an extra level of entertainment, along with your commentary! 🫶🏽
My childhood memories would definitely be triggered if I smelled box dye. It was a fun time of trying Kool-Aid, box dye, bleach, bags over the head, etc. I am in total agreement that we must embrace Demi-Permanent colors. Brad’s Color Depositing semi-permanent dyes are what I dreamed of in my youth and now they are also sold at Sally Beauty. Thank you for being such an excellent & entertaining teacher Brad! 💗💕💗
I dyed my hair true black and at first it was weird to get used to, and i honestly am still not sure about the first week, but after that week it faded the tiniest amount it was basically black with a slight warm brown hue that showed up in the sun and oh my gosh it looked so nice after that first week. It was like it just softened the tiniest bit and it was very flattering.
The last girl did amazing & she is so pretty!!! YAAAASSSSS!! ❤
The cheap Revlon box dye is the way to go. Yes it use to be $2.98, now $3.98 but it's still great. I've used the more expensive brand that never came out right. I hope they never stop making this..
There are always coupons for either $1 or $2 off each box. They also have a lot of 2 for $5 sales.
I use this brand for my dark brown and I agree. My hair always feels so good afterwards too cause of the keratin and the conditioner they include.
Yuuuup. I had a phase where I dyed my bangs black and the more expensive colors faded to a denim color quickly. The cheapest one lasted the longest. It was counterintuitive but it worked!
My mom used to use a coppery red Revlon dye, and she'd have coworkers ask which one she used cuz they wanted her color. Well, she didn't want that, so she would tell them she used burgundy😂 they'd come to work with purplish hair and she'd just be like, oh I guess it reacts differently with my hair🤔😂 I miss her crazy ass so much.
Yessss the blue black revlon box dye has been my go to for years. All the others simply don’t compare.
Oh you must have heard me talking about fighting the urge to dye my hair black at home 😂. Brad you’re so sweet to make this video for me to either encourage me TO DO or TO NOT do ❤ Y’all ain’t he just a peach like that 😂 Edit: I have bought hair dye it has been decided! Revlon shade black (they have 3 kinds of black: black, soft black, natural black) for $4.19 at target
You can do it at home! Just go to sallys and dont pick *full* black. 😅 Edit: I recommend the Loreal liquid and 20 volume any developer.
@@MekareP i love you already!! But everyone please weigh in like THIS GEM 💎 right here ❤️😘 I have dark brown hair with blonde under shadow with olive tone skin Yes or no to black box dye 🤔🤔🤔
you can do it as home just get semipermanent black girl
It’s gonna look so bomb!! ESP on ur skin tone!
Once you’ve dyed your hair black, buy a clear gloss to apply afterwards, it makes your hair super shiny and makes the black hair have more dimension imho.
I have used blue black from box dye for Halloween time and I don't get how anyone could mess up a box dye. It is so simple to use. I have been using box dye on my hair for over 40 years and never had issues like I see in your videos. My hair is soft, shiny and healthy and I dye it every 4-6 weeks. I also put oil on my ends, do resting periods where I go 2 months of no dying and just do treatments. I am almost 60 years old and dye my hair dark brown, as long as I can't see anything grey or red I am ok. The thing about box dye is once time is up, lather it up, then rinse, rinse and rinse, just when you think you are done rinse some more. Get down there on the scalp and gently scrub it or your scalp will be the color of the dye. Then you can't wash your hair for 2-3 days.
The last girl was my soul sister. I love a black box dye. Its so dark and deep. When I'm not feeling myself i go black box dye or what i call cartoon red. Those are the colors that make this mousey brown hair girl happy.
guys i think we found something that puts brad in pain more than bleach fails!! BLACK BOX DYE
I love the Xmondo hair mask. I have white hair and I'm not meant for light hair, and the color depositing mask really lengthens the time between dying.
Watching people do there hair boring. Watching Brad react to people doing there hair amazing. Loove He's so entertaining
Found you this morning from your wolf cut tutorial, cut my hair this morning for the first time myself and it turned out perfect! Definitely addicted to these videos now ❤
I recently got into the black box dye...I love it!!!
Brad mondo I am in cosmo school and I wanted to have black hair (im a natural ginger) I tried professional color but it turned out I’m allergic to it and it didn’t take in my hair at all.. so I went to rite aid and bought black box dye….. I know what I did is illegal in the hairdresser world and I know how hard it is going to get out but I love it and I think I look amazing in it!!
I use that Revlon black dye too. Sometimes I'll use something more expensive if I'm feeling spicy, but the Revlon dye is really good and super cheap.
I black box dyed my hair for the autumn equinox, it looked a little too much for the first couple days but then it kinda settled and looked awesome. Had multiple people’s jaws drop (positively) and got a confession from someone who mentioned my hair dye when telling me their feelings. So, I’m a bit against the black box dye slander Brad ngl lol
Same thing happened to me! I dyed my hair black over a year ago and after about a week it softened(?) up and it looked so nice. I think it really does need to settle for a little bit on some people and then it suddenly looks better!
The first one I was stunned she looks so pretty with dark hair and her blue eyes chefs kiss!
Don't know about you, but it really helps my self-esteem when Brad says "hi beautiful"
Lol these were great as usual, love these videos, but i do gotta say Brad is looking extra goooooood today! loving him letting his natural color come through again 😉 🔥🔥❤
This video is giving me the idea of going to target to get a blueblack box dye , I havet dye my hair in years
Omg girl its never the answer lmfao
‘Because everyone will not forget to color their face’ 😃😂🤣😂🤣 all by myself and laughed out loud at that statement. 🤣😂
The weirdest thing is that the one time I used a non-permanent black dye on my hair was the time it stayed the longest. It didn't stay black, it just stayed and slowly leached the color off my hair till it grew out. It gave me auburn hair for years. And it was supposed to come out in like 6 weeks or something. Still, made it easier to go ginger later, so I can't complain.
Non permanent is a sus way to put it did it say that on the box?😅 It had to be a demi right or it wouldn't have lifted🤔
@@monkfruit2389 It was 30 years ago. I don't remember the wording on the box. I do remember that, it being my first time dying my hair, and being a teenager, I wasn't about to use a permanent color, so I bought something that said it washed off, and that's not exactly what happened.
the last girl is so gorgeous with and without the black. ALSO BRAD you have inspired me to go to cosmetology school, i love you and your videos so much! live your extra life 🖤
The box dye the last girl is using is Revlon Colorsilk. It doesn't have ammonia and doesn't stink. My mother loved it. She was allergic to ammonia and when she wanted to color this is what she used. And she always rocked it.
Good to know. I wanted a non ammonia one.
I have this really negative preconception of black box dye girls, it gives "I smoke a pack a day and have didn't blend my fake tan" but actually these girls all pull it off! Pale, cool toned skin makes such a difference and it's actually icy and beautiful 😍
Brad, you crack me up! 😂 with the face dying comments omg! 😂 I freak out if I have color on my face lol
I've been dying my hair black on and off for 14 years WITH box dye. It's healthy. It looks great. I'm a natural blonde. I must be part of the .01% of the population. I get compliments everyday, even from my hair stylist. Not everyone can afford salon dye jobs, Brad. Lol
Yes, me too, never had any problems at all ❤❤
The reason why hairdressers dread black box dye is if you regret it you're pretty much stuck. It's very difficult to get out, sometimes impossible. Only way for some people is to grow their hair out. I know some stylists won't even touch black box dyed hair if the person comes in for a color correction.
@AccidentallyOnPurpose my stylist has been used to my shenanigans for years. She got the dye out of my hair for me after I had my first child in 2011. I went from box black dye to blonde. Then I hated the blonde and went back to red for 9 years. I've been black since 2020 when everyone lost their collective mind lol. BUT I do know most stylists HATE the black dye. We have a, "don't ask, don't tell" policy with my dye haha. I even stripped my own color out, went back to red, hated it and went back to red in 8 days. But she's always impressed with the integrity of my hair bx it's important to me. But you're right. A lot of stylists dread it for sure.
Me too ✋️ I have naturally Raven Black hair and love doing blue black❤ I tried a light brown wig on me for fun and I looked terrible 😅
@chezamoonangelaiemma497 I'm so jealous. When I went back to red after it being blue black for 3 years, I HATED it. I went back to blue black a few days later lol.
I black box dyed my hair when I was 20. I woke up the next morning, forgetting what I'd done the night before, looked in the mirror and screamed! I had micro bangs and a little flip out at the bottom. Super Tim Burton vibes. Never again though, that shit took forever to grow out.
😂 Glad you survived!
Honestly that sounds cool as fuck that kinda stuff is 100% my vibe as a goth who loves Tim burton haha
