About This Episode:
Francois Lemay, a goalie coach from Quebec City, travelled with Inertia Network and the Closing the Gap: Hockey in North Korea film crew on two separate trips to North Korea. For two weeks, he was on the ice at Pyongyang's Ice Arena training the North Korean men's and women's national teams. More than just hockey, he was able to experience something few foreigners ever will-- real, honest connections with normal North Koreans.

    • Ice hockey in North Korea got its start from Soviet influence. While not its, not the most popular sport they are a part of the IIHF. The womens team actually does well on the international stage considering the number of resources they get. We've worked with the men's national team on numerous projects!
