Herman goes to his doctors for advice on his new diet.
A family of friendly monsters having misadventures and never quite understanding why people react to them so strangely.
#TheMunsters #Comedy #Classictv
honestly I never saw this family as weird, id rather them be my neighbours than my current ones
Everyone else was weird as far as the Munsters were concerned. They were a 'normal' family.
I hear you!
Lol, that's excellent
I agree with you Mr Adams ! 😂
We are here😂😂😂🎉
Probably televisions greatest comedic supporting actor ever: the lengendary Paul Lynde! Was this guy ever in a scene that he didn't completely steal? ☆☆☆
Paul Lynde was the Best in TV comedy, None better!
Too bad a goofy accident that wasn't really his fault ruined his career.
exactly Pat4, he only needed a minute and he'd steal the show. wonderful comedy actor.
@@clintdavies491 Absolutely.
Paul was so under used as an actor. He timing, body language and voice inflection was brilliant.
Paul Lynde as your Doctor. He'd have you in stitches every visit.
Paging Dr. Bombay! Sorry Uncle Arthur. 😀
Did I see Gladys Kravitz as well?
Sort of like those Navy doctors, eh, Chief? Interesting to see they still have the Machinist Mate Rate. Smooth sailing!
Ha, I see what you did there 😂
❤easy episodes of the Munsters
Simple humor for simple times. Fred and Paul together are classic!
what about that time was simple? it was a very complicated, very troubled time
Yup! Just ask my dad as a black man growing up in the south.@@gwen6622
@@gwen6622 Some media critics have said that sitcoms like this one were what viewers turned to in order to blank out Vietnam, riots, poverty, & hippies.
@@hifrommike2120 absolutely, yeah. life has always been tumultuous, for every human that has ever lived for all of time. oh well.
Paul Lynde: "You know I just discovered something extraordinary I can't hear a thing without my glasses". lol
Today's generation missed out on all these classic shows.I was so blessed to have lived in this time frame. This episode had me rolling 🤣 😂 oh my gosh when Paul Lynde got the full effect of Herman's face..I was done 😂😂❤
I miss the classic shows of this era. So wholesome.
That was hands down one of the top three funniest sitcom skits I have ever seen in my entire life, and I have seen hundreds of them. But it doesn't surprise me at all. We're talkin about the comedy genius of Paul Lynde.
When Paul Lynde looks at Herman after he puts his glasses on is so funny. His tie sticks straight out and the arms of his glasses go out to the side. Hilarious!
Yeah I know! I'm not blind!! LOL
Is there a doctor in the house 😷🏥I think the doctor had the corona virus
Idk if covid 19 existed in the 1960s
@@lilyemmalindsay9025my neighbor has a Lysol can disinfectant from 1994 that has human coronavirus on it
Was fortunate to watch this first run as an 8 year old and could not stop laughing and now 55 years later I'm still 😅🤣😂 This show never gets old!
There were so many funny scenes in The Munsters. Fred Gwynne was great and it certainly doesn't hurt to have a legend like Paul Lynde in the scene!
Wow! Herman was in the Army?! Impressed! He did it all! 😁👌 Thank you for your service Herman 🙏👌 In reality: The Real Fred Gwynne served in the Navy during WW2 100% #Respect You left your foot print here on earth for your family and for all families around the world with your acting. Rest in peace Mr. Gwynne Our only "Herman Monster" ❤
He really did do service for our country? That is so cool, ayeah.
That's a lovely tribute!
"Were you a hero, Pop?" "Well, I wouldn't say that, Eddie. But whenever we came up out of the trenches, the enemy would take one look at me and run. Come to think of it, a lot of our guys would run too."
No he is joking
"Marilyn I ask you, am I too fat?" "well..." "NEVERMIND"
🤣
I kept replaying that it killed me funny!! Lol
"I can't hear a thing without my glasses"! My 😎
Omg............Paul Lynde was so funny..............so talented.........he brought so much fun and laughter to so many over the years. one of my favorites. Rip Paul.. Rip Fred...
Great series. Paul Lynde was amazing as the goofy, nearsighted doctor.
Yeah, Lynde made a couple appearances on the show as near sided doctor, this clip very good 👍
Yes he was.
Leave it to Paul Lynde to out stage the Munsters, making them look normal compared to him... 🍺😂👍
I miss them so...so much...what a show.🌹
Paul Lynn was sooo funny. He was on everything back in the 60s and 70s.
Batman? Star Trek? Thought so
Paul Lynde was hilarious . One of my favorites in the old days.
Fabulous humor of the 60's!
"Oh I see that you Brought your doggie " LOL🙈
Always loved this beloved show. This was new when I was 5, and watched every episode then. It is hilarious. Paul Lynde was always a hoot. This show should have been on for at least 5 seasons before it was canceled.
Paul Lynde pure comedy genius
Paul Lynde was uncle Arthur on Bewitched.
Exactly and never "framed"!
Always loved watching Paul Lynde when he was on The Munsters, Bewitched, F- Troop & Hollywood Squares. His demeanor was hilarious 🤣
Don't forget I dream of Jeannie as the "Tax Assesser" ...BRILLIANT
@@peterfranks6243 He was also a movie director on I Dream of Jeannie, hilarious episode.

This show is soooo FUNNY ! I wish shows where like this today.
Yep! 💯😂
I agree 💯
Even though i *LOVED* the Munsters as a kid, i don’t remember the stories - especially from the earlier seasons. The first show i can recall seeing Paul Lynde in (who i also loved!) was Bewitched. Now i’m realizing that when i was watching Munster reruns at about 5yrs old, i was also experiencing the tremendous privilege of seeing my beloved Paul Lynde interact with my beloved Munsters! The result was as expected: freaking *HILARIOUS!* What a treat! Also i’m amazed that i found this show so funny back then - bc there’s no _way_ that i could comprehend MOST of the jokes! Watching the series now, i’m laughing harder & more often than I’ve laughed at *ANYTHING* in *YEARS!* 🤣💞
This is one of the greatest comedy reactions of all time.
Munsters, Gomer Pyle, Sanford and Son, Andy Griffin, Gilligan Island never get old!
❤ Paul lynde brilliant comedian
It really says something when Herman Munster is the straight man in a scene.
Paul Lynde was super funny here!
@@christopherwood2290 yes and seth used his voice for roger the alien in american dad he sounds just like paul its like roger in this ep
@@christopherwood2290 : He was such fun to watch. When he was in the center square of ‘Hollywood Squares’ game show, always delivered the best comebacks!! Also great as Uncle Arthur in ‘Bewitched’. Wish his life would have been happier.
@@slcRN1971 he made things happier for others that must count for something

Uncle Arthur!!
Paul Lynde was phenomenal in this❗ There is another episode of the Munsters with Don Rickles as a sheisty jewish Dance School Director ❗ The Munsters were Phenomenal ❗
The one time I saw Rickles not roasting someone so roastable.
It's been a long time I haven't laughed this way. Wonderful memories worth billons.
Best show ever! Brought back some memories.
When he was staring at that cabinet I died on that one 😂 this will never get old
Coming back to this episode, brings me happiness and laughter!!!!! I would come home from school, and grab a snack, and enjoy..... I love Paul!!! Total genius!!!!! ❤❤❤
Lol the way the doctor falls on desk like that is hilarious🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Ya, they don't make TV shows📺 like this anymore.😀😁😂🤣👌
@CARL MOBLEY Apples and Oranges
thank goodness
I Love Lucy & the Munsters are my favorite TV shows. I also like Goosebumps which is a 1990s TV show.
Your right, with the exc of taxi, sitcoms went downhill as soon as the Mary Tyler Moore show and its associates entered the sitcom scene
Every week I go to the neighbor's and watch "The Munsters" with him. He's 69 years old and can't stand new television, new music, new technology, he's about as old-fashioned as one can get. His wife can't stand this show, so I go over there and watch TV with him on his back patio. He feels like a second grandpa to me. Love this old man.
That's one of the funniest skits I have ever seen God bless them
Huge thumbs up to Fred Gwenn and Paul Lynn. Love the end. It's the best.
Love how when the nurse comes in at 7:07, there's some kind of little mistake there, like she gets the hiccups or something, and she breaks but they've left it in. Very sweet.
Who played that cute nurse?
Haha, she breaks completely. I bet she’s on the other side of the door saying “oh we can’t use that I dropped character” and they’re like, “don’t worry, it’s cute”.
lol I spotted that, I'm thinking she just lost it and was trying not to laugh.
If you listen carefully it sounds like it’s Paul Lynde that loses it and causes her to laugh
If you’ll notice, when the nurse hands Paul Lynde his glasses, she breaks character. 😂
Paul Lynde was hilarious, my favorite episode

From what I've read, Fred Gwynne never realized how beloved his character as Herman Munster was. One of the greatest comedy characters ever.
as a child growing up, Paul Lynde was my favorite comedian. To bad he was taken away from us so early.
❤ Paul lydne, brilliant comedian
Yeah, I liked it when he was on other shows too. Like Uncle Arthur on Bewtiched. And he played a tough IRS agent on I Dream of Jinni.
Remember The Paul Lynde Show, a TV sitcom? They cancelled it too soon. I have some audio from that on an old tape, which I was going to upload some day, to hear his jokes.
He had a lot of brilliant one liners on Hollywood Squares
He played also as a movie director on I dream of Jeannie.
As a kid i remember watching the Munsters with my Dad in the mid 60's...............the show was popular here in the UK, and was shown in a prime time evening slot!
You all got the Munsters in the U.K? Hysterical.. What about the Beverly Hillbillies and Star Trek and Gomer Pyle and the Monkees, etc?
Counselor julian is also the best empathic councelors in winter haven ❤
Always good to see Paul Lynde, and of course Herman.
This is the level of comedy you can only see these days on Nickelodeon when the grandkids are watching their shows. In the 60's this was par for the adults. Times have changed huh?
No joke. Man that plays doctor, should have had his own show...
I have the 2 seasons on DVD, but i still catch it in syndication. One of my faves from the 60's. Loved it in this episode how Grandpa taunts him at the table about the Thanksgiving menu.
The nurse messes the scene up for me.
LMAO at this video ! ! ! ! ! ! 😁😁😂😂 Paul Lynde certainly was *fabulous* in this episode of The Munsters ! ! ! ! ! Hello, Paul was *fabulous* in ANY show / movie he was in ! ! ! ! ! !
Fred Gwynne was born to money, a great painter and illustrator as well as being a Harvard graduate.
Didn’t know that thanks for the info

Don't forget his children's books.

@@lloydkline1518 true!
When Herman's makeup was still a bit scary. An early episode
They did as much contouring as Kim Kardashian.
@@2degucitas funny because I think Herman is more natural than her
Herman is supposed to be the scariest out of all of them. They mostly run away from him more than the rest of the family. There's some episodes where people run from Lily.
LOL I NEVER NOTICED THAT HERMANS HANDS WERE FURRY!
If you look closely, you can see how huge Fred Gwynne's hands were compared to Paul Lynde's! Fred was 6'5" tall!! (without the lifts)
Yes they are alot bigger, never noticed that before.
Paul Lynde has guest starred on every sitcom of the sixties.
Paul Lynde was so funny, his humor was unique, and cannot be compared. I watched his TV sitcom when new, I think it was during 1972. It was on MeTV or Antenna tv, don't know if it still is. I watched the Munsters when new, too.
You must be old
I have always thought of Frankenstein when I see Herman.....lol
Paul Lynde was always so funny no matter what character he was playing no matter what television show. He was one of a kind brilliant.
I can't believe they only did 2 seasons. Fred would lose so much weight from sweating in the makeup and clothes. He hated it. His big shoes would be full of water. He was an English major at Harvard and an incredible artist. His illustrations were used in the Harvard Lampoon. He later had art showings in Laguna Beach, CA and others which he really wanted to be known for that talent
Beautiful series , good old days!
Omg Paul Lynde! Hysterically funny as always!
I immediately recognized Dr. Dudley's voice: Templeton from Charlotte's Web.🕸🐀
Paul Lynne “You’ll have to excuse me. I can’t hear a thing without my glasses!” 😁😄
with the exception of a few episodes of Bewitched, this is the first time I've seen Paul Lynde guest star on a television show other than the Hollywood Squares. Brilliant natural humor.
how could Herman be in the army 20 years ago if he and Lily havent been separated in 100 years? 🤔
the only person outside the munsters family who thought they were normal was mr.gateman herman's boss
Remember, Mr. Gateman ran a funeral parlor.

The doctor without his glasses is too funny lol
The absolute funniest!
I had forgotten how funny Herman was 😂
Herman Munster anything is fantastic! R.I.P. Fred Gwynn Al Lewis Yvonne DeCarlo Sadly missed, never forgotten.
Lilly said, "We haven't been separated in over a hundred years." But Herman said it was a 20-year reunion, and Lilly wasn't in the Army with him. Writers goofed. But it's still a funny episode and Paul Lynde was hilarious as the doctor.
He said it was the first time thy had gotten together in 20 years. He never said he was in the army 20 years ago.
@@Michelle-pn9xt Yes, he said that. But for what Lilly said to be true, it means Herman would have fought a hundred years before. How could his comrades in arms still be alive?

They couldn't have picked a better actor to play Herman Munster than Fred Gwynne; he and Al Lewis also were on Car 54, Where are You? another great show, also with another great and funny actor, Joe E. Brown; love Paul Lynde as the doctor; he's a riot! 😄
This show makes me feel 5 year's old again.
Gosh, pure jocularity!
Wonderful actor Paul Lynde. So funny as Uncle Arthur in Bewitched.
Herman Munster meets Uncle Arthur! It's like a Munsters/Bewitched crossover!

Very good tv show from those great sixties, i preferred munsters over Adams family .paul Lynde was a funny man and he was also in bewitched as uncle Arthur
I Love The Munsters, Yvonne De Carlo as Lily was Hot, i have a beautiful Model of the Munsters Koach and the second season of The Munsters, the opening is the best ever.
Paul Lynde - true story - in 1968 was pulled over off HWY 101 for possible DUI. He pulled over and up onto the sidewalk. When the CHP officer approached his car, Lynde rolled down his window and ordered a large cheeseburger, fries, and a large Coke. The officer gave him a safe ride home and a speech. It wasn't all about revenue back then.
“Oh Mr Munster I see you brought your doggie, I’m afraid he’ll have to wait outside unless he’s had his shots “…Paul Lynne’s delivery was always hilarious!… Great old show!!
I started being a Munsters fan after I Love Lucy. It was in 2014 when I started watching Munsters. I was Lily for Halloween that yr. My name is also Lily.
Happy Halloween Mrs. Munster :)
I like how he says doc
Paul Lynde proves that 90% of comedy is not so much what you say, but how you deliver the lines. I swear, I would probably be laughing at him just reading the weather forecast.
