Your discussion of the Dendera Lightbulb and the lack of soot in interior spaces made me wonder if mirrors are a better explanation than electric light. Other, later civilizations, in other regions, used series of mirrors to reflect sunlight. So why not also in the earlier Egyptian Empire?

I've always loved history, but I've noticed as I've gotten older that no matter what book you pick up about history, no matter where in the world, you will see repeatedly, some variation of the sentence "we don't know". So I'm even more baffled by historians and archeologists that are hell bent on the linear human progression narrative that's clearly not true. They'll admit that they don't know, but somehow they DO know that the idea of advanced civilizations prior to our own is ridiculous. But why exactly? They REALLY believe that humans sat around in caves for hundreds of thousands of years until one day someone just said "well, that's enough of that. Let's build a civilization"? That's pretty stupid if you ask me
The ancients were much better at documenting things they saw and did than we currently are doing. We write on paper or use a computer which will not survive the centuries. The ancients documented on rock, in hardened clay and metal.

Now,, when I was a kid, I pointed out Galaxy's visible to the naked eyes.
