Another health update! I had a seizure recently, my first since before my brain surgery, but I'm feeling absolutely grand now! 😊
I just wanted to dive into my brain tumour diagnosis today to answer some of the questions I've been getting recently. I hope you're all feeling okay physically and emotionally with whatever you're going through.
I will be starting a Facebook group for brain tumour support ASAP 💗
If you're also going through this right now I'm here for you ❤️ If you want to chat please feel free message me on instagram @diaryofeireann

  • Éireann, you need another Go Fund Me. You cannot go through this and also have the money worries that you inevitably have with job insecurity, getting back to Ireland from Canada, Devin's visa, which I recall you saying was very expensive and who knows what other expenses. It's a tribute to the amazing, decent person you are that you feel that you can't take any more donations. Yes you can - for the simple reason that many of us are very happy to offer you some financial support in your hour of need. And yes, it is our way of giving you an online hug when we would so like to give you a hug in person. I'm so moved by your latest video and so worried about you but if anyone can be on the right side of all these statistics and averages then it's you. I'll keep praying for you and thinking of you. • In a perfect world it would not be this way, but we don’t live in a perfect world. The people that care the most about you are yourself and hopefully any friends and family you might have. Doctors are great people for dedicating their life to helping others but at the end of the day they are just people and they make mistakes. What I am trying to say is don’t you ever feel bad about being insistent or demanding or whatever. You are worth more than someone being annoyed by a phone call.

  • You have a heart of gold. And a very heartwarming optimism. You are in a challenging spot in your life. Your kindness shines through and is so helpful to you and to the many others who see your videos. When I was being treated for advanced cancer, there were no support groups available due to Covid. I turned to KZhead to seek out others who were dealing with cancer. I’m so grateful to the other cancer patients who chose to take the extra efforts to put their stories up on KZhead. I hope you realize how your KZhead efforts, combined with your lovely personality, help many others who are dealing with cancer. Many thanks to you Erieann.

  • Eireann -- I've been struggling with my mental health lately, and for some reason, your videos popped into my feed...and I'm glad they did. Your positive outlook on life is so wonderful, it helps put things back into perspective for me. I'm glad you decided to allow us along this journey with you and I hope you know we're all here for you. Your videos literally make my day sometimes, and I feel like your example inspires me to be better and stronger and to try to share some of the positive energy you bring within my own circle of people, because none of us really knows what the people around us are going through at any given moment. Wishing you the absolute best outcome -- we're all pulling for you.

I think because your situation has changed and is ever evolving I would not feel guilty starting up another gofundme and letting us as your community help you and Devon out- or even better yet direct donations through paypal or etransfer to avoid gofundme fees...please think about it! What a sh** employer so sorry that happened to you Devon. Sending love hugs and prayers from the east coast.

  • Hello Eireann, Your channel just popped up in my feed--maybe because I am following another cancer survivor (Dr Dan Says, he is a chiropractor and very inspiring man) but I really am getting an education on what some folks are having to deal with and at young ages (50s is too young too) Anyhoo, you are traffic stopping beautiiful and very sweet and well spoken and I think your channel is the first I have that is teaching me what a proper Irish accent sounds like. Wishing you the best in your life challenge. They are making breakthroughs all the time helping people live longer so don't give up!

  • People like you were the reason I couldn't study medicine. I really wanted to help people but the system just doesn't work for patients. That's why I chose veterinary medicine with the love of animals. I work in my clinic freely, I accept patients as much as I want, I make strong bonds and I even do medical researches. I'm so sorry you have to go through this. I hope things go well for you.

  • Wow Devon's boss was some piece of work. Speaking from his side of this, if what you're going through ever happened to my wife I don't know how I could concentrate on work period. For him to fire the poor guy because he wanted/needed to be with you for something so major shows some people really are awful. How someone like that could look at themselves in the mirror is beyond comprehension. On to you, I'm so sorry you're dealing with all this and I am keeping you in my thoughts. There are always new drugs/trials on the horizon. Never lose hope that one of those will be the "magic wand" for you. Be well!

Doing all that is in your power and still feel helpless. Please tell your dad that he is hero no matter what. The hero every other dad aspires to be. And please know that you are forever his treasure. I would also like to thank you for sharing your story. And wish you all the time future can give you. I hope alongside all the tears this illness brings upon you, you can find also the joy that fills a heart with the warmth of a thousand loving fathers. (and mothers to of course ;-) Keep up the fight. (and the video's 😊)

  • To have that experience with the surgeon and staff is unforgivable. I HIGHLY recommend that you consider calling the Mayo Clinic in Scottsdale, AZ to discuss with them and to have a 2nd opinion provided. I would go so far as to say anyone who would disrespect your time and disregard the stress caused by not meeting his obligation, should not be trusted. I don’t care where they sent the tumor. I know for a fact that you will be treated appropriately and you will be given accurate information with Mayo. I know you have a lot going on with a move impending and all the rest of it. But this is your life. NOW is the time to be sure. NOW is the time to consult the best people. Don’t wait. Nothing is more important than you living a long, healthy life.

  • It is exhausting having to advocate and fight but that is what you have to do. I have stood in your shoes with my dad, what I would say is with the treatment you have had I would check out elsewhere. We didn’t and we endured the worst, I am offering you our hindsight. Get out and get out quick. Ask your dad and family to reach out to all neurology consultants across the world who have experience in your tumour and see what they can share, know and examples of care, treatment and success. Trials is a key. The Royal Marsden in the UK could be useful to reach out to Liam Christopher Welsh. But if in your shoes I would be changing my care ❤
