That french wrench at the bottom is extremely useful. It's basically a portable vise, considering its vintage, that's an heirloom tool for you.
He said it wasn’t his, but a friends
@@DowntimeMedia That they didn't need anymore, so they are his
It's so cool to me that this thing traveled at the speed of time through the decades to your shop. And now your restoration is part of its history.
The testing phase at the end was very informative, glad to see the restoration help to improve its performance so well!
Beautiful job as always! It might be good to have some feet on the bottom to keep it off the ground. I believe the original bottom had some embossed/dimpled feet on it. Happy New Year, and I am looking forward to seeing your projects in 2022!
21:42 Definitely a glitch in the Matrix 🤣 Beautiful work dude, this box came out sooooo good 🔥🥳👍
My Grandfather had one of these, and although both he and his toolbox are sadly lost to time, I know he would have appreciated the work and attention to detail in this restoration. A nice thought for New Year’s day: reminding me of those we love who are gone. Cheers and Happy New Year!
Did anyone notice with the cut between 32:39 and 32:41 that he only then inserted the washers correctly? "This one seems to work great!" .... LMAO !!! Made my Day!
I know how much work that actually took, you should be so proud. Bigger and better in 2022. a Fantastic Job
Traditionally these were painted hammerite blue, but the army green is nice also! Great job, thx for the vid! :-D
I have a similar toolbox! It has some rust holes, and missing a piece at the bottom for that reason, but still, i use it most of the times! But now, thanks to you, I'm thinking about giving it a proper restoration. This thing served my family for decades, maybe it's time to give it what it deserves) Thanks for the awesome content you're making!
Simply perfect! Congratulations.
Looks good as is. I'm sure all grandfathers and tool enthusiests can appreciate this high dollar work. GREAT JOB !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Had this exact box from grandpa and used for my first job at small engine shop. Full of his tools also. Thanks for the memory.
Beautiful work! Mixing paint by eye is amazing.
Loved the restoration and loved the thorough testing too.
Beautiful restoration!
Great work as always. Thanks for sharing.
From the thumbnail i thought this thing was MASSIVE. I was like this looks like the coolest thing I've ever seen.
Gorgeous! And what a meaningful item for you!
Absolutely brilliant!! Happy New Year!!!
Beautifully done !!
So beautiful indeed!
Brilliant to see you back 😊
Another great restoration. Happy New Year.
Great result, your welding has gotten so much better, I am impressed. I so agree with the addition of some sort of stand-off for the bottom. As always, looking forward to upcoming episodes. Cheers from Dallas, Texas
Welding looking really good !!
Great job again! That was fun!
You made an old tool box a thing of beauty well done mate keep it up.
Great wprk, as always! Turned out better than I imagined!
Fantastic job, looks great 👍
@Restore It: You got to be kidding me: my grandfather's toolbox (still in possession, quite rusted and worn out), over here in the Netherlands is of the very same variety. Looked for a video for toolbox restauration and this was the first click.
Outstanding work 👍
A satisfying restoration to watch, Greetings and Happy New Year from Canada.

Fabuloso. Una maravilla, como siempre. Feliz año.
Color is spot on 👌
Good Job man!!🔧⚙️
Nice work!
Very nice!
One man’s toolbox is another man’s treasure!
Wow , that´s better than new!
Test Satisfactory. Looks to be a great way into automotive repainting.
I’ve been waiting for weeks for this, I was starting to get worried 😧 it’s good to see you back 🥰😍❤️
Love cantilever toolboxes. I have two. They're not the best though, but have stood up well!
nice touch putting the tool mats in the bottom
Cool toolbox and restore.
that should do the job. good one, have a great New Year..
Happy New Year!
Yes a very nice good Job Love it so much best man 👍👍👍❤️👍
Awesome, only nit is not replacing feet intents on bottom. It's so you can add rubber feet and not have it slide out.
This is the best video on KZhead!
GOOD Job !!
Very nice work! A spot welder could make your life easier especially with the bottom part if you can afford one. Happy new year greetings from Greece!!!!!
And it is good as New! 💪
Old Man Toolbox! Cheeky bugger haha 🤣. Here's an old man trick, when welding thin stuff like this, have a wet cloth on there other side to prevent over heating the panel. Prevents warping etc😉Nice job as always :D
These always seemed so heavy but ya, every old man had one. They are a very slick mechanical design though. Nice touch with the liners, that's a nice modern improvement.
Nice Work
that was a satisfyingly good restoration
Happy new year 🎄 guys 👍
Great work, really enjoy watching this🙂 , the only thing I would have done differently is to not use adhesive for liners so you can replace them easily anytime you want to 😉
I think building one like this out of wood, would be cool. Might try it.
2022 Happy new year
