Robbie first fight I seen that cemented him in my mind to me was a fight that I will never forget, Showtime with Scott Smith. It happened twice with Scott, but one was unbelievable.
Everyone talks about the Rory Macdonald fight of course it was one of the best ever. For me who’s close to Robbie’s age who stayed up late nights to watch him fight in pride. I dunno why but that fight against Nick Diaz the second time was my favorite moment. Maybe it’s nostalgia but seeing that embrace after all those years in the cage with Nick was really special. God bless you champ you’re 1 of 1 in my books always will be. There will never be another Ruthless Robbie Lawler.

The fight that got me absolutely hoooooked was watching Lawler vs Condit at a Buffalo Wild Wings. I had only watched some random fight cards before that one, but watched that fight and was like “holy shit, I love this sport.” Thank you Robbie. Your poster on my wall and your performance from that night will always be a huge part of my love for MMA

Feels like he’s retained his savage edge throughout his whole career but he’s humble and level headed and seems in a much better place in retirement than many guys. I was always a fan but what he said to Nick Diaz after their fight showed his character outside the octagon as well.
With Robbie gone - every guy I grew up on has officially retired! And Robbie is one guy I loved every fight and always tried to watch sense I was a literal child

Dude is an actual legend. Not in the sense the term is thrown around weekly in sports, but an actual legend of a human beings. All of the motherfuckers that just worry about the media, money, and all the rumor and innuendoes. It reveals his true character when Lawler puts on that perplexed smile after being asked about those things.
Really liked how the ufc gave him a fair but competitive match up, and had a highlight reel montage ready to send him off into retirment. Very cool moment.
