  • It's a shame most boat companies have done away with cooks on board. It seems so much better to just have someone who cooks, so meals are ready when it's time to work.

  • The fact the pantry is so small I am guessing you only get food delivered maybe once a week or two . Wow the way you put everything up so quickly without even having to think si another name for you would be Speedy. While waiting to get in tech school after I first joined the Coast Guard I was the helper to the cook at a radio station. After a month the cook got real sick to the commanding officer asked if I knew how to cook. I told him I have never been to a real cooking school but I cold cook country as both my parents were raised on working farms and they taught me.. So for 6 months I cooked for 30 men although they did give me a dish washer to help me. The admiral in my area came to do an inspection and he loved my food as he was raised on a farm in Georgia so he felt right at home. It came back for lunch about every 3 weeks. He was sad when I got into tech school. Watching you in this brings back a lot of memories. ,,,,I say a box of grits that you said you do not use, Don't you have some Southern men on board that would enjoy it? I love grits with red eye gravy on them along with scrambled eggs, country ham, fried apples and sometimes sliced tomatoes and of course buttermilk biscuits. Yes I am from North Carolina and my dad was from the foothills of the mountains here and mom was from the sandhills of South Carolina so we have always eaten this for breakfast as long as I can remember. It keeping with the family tradition we even enjoyed this for supper. Thanks for sharing your galley chores and your layout of things.

They empty the dishwasher at night but I do during the day (breakfast & lunch batch). They do a major suge (meaning the deep clean) on Sundays and and once every 3 days (at night) deep scrub my stovetop. I keep that pretty clean but can't scrub due to fact still too hot. They clean out my fryer after fish day (every Friday night). During the day all they have to do is take out my trash when needed. I do everything else during the day. ❤️😊❤️😊
