i dont get the apple's obsession with making everything “thinner” , i thought that they finally got it with 11 Pros that a lot of people prefer better battery life
iPhone 11's, are what you get when Apple actually listens to their customers demands. iPhone 12 is where the "Apple Knows best" attitude starts to show again. You'd think they'd learn that after the massive sales on the iPhone 11.
They did, I think that because of the design, keeping the thickness at what it was before would make the phone way too chunky. The 12 Pro Max already feels a LOT thicker than the 11 Pro Max just because of the flat design, and it's actually thinner by 0.7mm. If it was the same 8.1mm, it would feel enormous.
Tbh its just the flat sided design that lessened the battery size like if the phone was as thick as the 11 pro max then it would look chunky af because of the flat sides but to me the 12 Pro max still has amazing battery life so i have no worries if I ever got that phone😂also if 12 pro max had the same design as last year with the same battery size then it would have battery life exceeding 8 hours 30 mark for sure.
They should've dumped their magsafe in favour of bigger battery because magnet takes good amount of thickness inside the phone

Until now battery life has always had a huge impact when I chose phones. But I don't think that's a huge concern for the flagships anymore. Would love to see you do more such tests on mid-range phones though. I expect it might be more of a concern there. Other than that, I try to keep my battery between 40 and 80%, don't charge it over night etc, so it lasts for multiple years. I think that's important when most companies really step up their game in an everlasting fight against the right to repair, and it might even give me a better price if I choose to sell the phone after two or three years.

Regarding Apple devices, I have been an Apple user for many years, and I can state that battery life is entirely dependent on the software. I can run the same programs and get wildly different battery life depending on the software updates, even when the apps update it can change for good or bad and significantly too.

Thank you for the video. I think it says a lot about each phone running them at almost max brightness. Real world for me would have to be a few hours longer since I typically run around 55% brightness on my phone.

Ok, you made a really good extensive test for the battery, but what we should be looking at is performance, duration vs battery capacity. In your time test, the rank is: Note > Xiaomi > One > Mate > 11 > 12 . But, when you evaluate the relation between time test and the battery capacity, the game changes. In a min/mAh relation, the test rank is: 12 > 11 > Note > Mate > Xiaomi > One, with the 12 pro max having a better perfomance ranging from +1,59% to +4,98%, been +3,65% against the Note 20 Ultra. I think this is a important evaluation to be made at the end. Still, nicely done!!

We can all agree that all the battery on all these phones are amazing. I have a iPhone 12 Pro Max and I haven’t charged my iPhone since yesterday afternoon. And I’m typing this almost a whole 24 hours since I charged the phone and I have about 36% battery. Like that too me is amazing battery life and a huge upgrade from my iPhone 11. I’m sure those android phones you can push 2 days without charging your phone for sure.
