    • One tip for chests. If you find one shortly after entering a new zone, (one that creates an auto save) you can open the chest and if you don't like the loot, can load autosave, re-enter enstance and try again for new loot. Does not work if you save right before opening chest, you need the change of area load screen.

I was nearly to her and ended up getting cursed by a chest from improperly dispelling it and I ended up dying to her as a result, and it auto saved right AFTER I was cursed, so. I had to turn around and run like 15 mins each way to the healer. The fast travel system in this is sort of confusing and takes getting used to. Just saying that this is really good advice 😉

You can customize Staff, Chakram, Septers and Hammers to have Peircing dmg. +% Elemental dmg benefits: Fire, Ice and Lightning. Including weapon damage with these effects. Bleed AND POISON are NOT considered magic. There for they are effective against enemies resistant to magic. Like Trolls. Hope this helps people build choices. :)

    • You seem to be well informed. Do you know if there's a difference between magic attack damage and elemental damage? Also, curious what the difference is between damage resistance (i.e. sphere of protection) vs damage mitigation (i.e. skillful defense)?

      @redeye259@redeye2593 жыл бұрын
    • @@redeye259 I believe Magic attack Damage and Elemental damage are basically the same thing. Elemental damage counts towards Fire, Ice and Lightning for both spells and weapon attacks. While i would assume the magic attack is only whatever effect you have on your equipped weapon. Damage Resistance from Sphere of protection is a flat % reduction on any & all types of damage you take. (10% reduction: you take 90 dmg instead of 100 dmg) The damage mitigation from Skillful defences increases the effectiveness by a % of the value of your currently equipped Shield block amount. (10% mitigation: Equiped Shield Blocks 30 dmg + 10% = Blocks 33dmg) and then depending on your armor the damage can be mitigated even further. Full plate gear and high block mitigation can enable 100% damage mitigated. However there are differnt block values depending on what you are being attacked by and what your sheild is. (Kite Sheilds have a high Physical Block amount but low magic block, Talismans are opposite.) But you can gear yourself so you can block basically everything with a kite sheild. My Battle mage can just block troll attacks now, aswell as projectile magic attacks. However piercing attacks bypass armor mitigation and have a chance to stagger you. So it's not over powered.

  • 1) Be sure to spend the points for the weapons you use the most when leveling. Example, I use Staffs and Chakrams with my mage build. I don't touch scepters, so I have no points in scepters. 2) You can sell and buyback an item with a stolen icon at the Travellers camps to "fence" it and remove the icon. This will help with some of your inventory management. 3) Armor/Weapons/Books take up one slot each...even if you have multiple copies of the same thing. Potions and Repair kits stack 10 per slot. Lockpicks stack 99 per slot. 4) Save the prismere lockpicks for later game play/very hard chests. 5) Invest in Mercantile! You will see your purchase prices drop and your sell prices raise. This is especially useful if you are willing to spend the time buying crafting items and then crafting things to sell at a profit. 6) Put off Teeth of Naros and Legend of Dead Kel as long as possible so that the equipment sets you get scale up. I haven't tested this in Re-Reckoning yet. 7) You can hold the attack button for a short duration to get some of the delay attack. This is especially useful with crowd control and a staff or chakrams. 8) Even if you ignore the rest of the side quests...do the faction side quests! The twists of fate for completing each one are more than worth the time you sink into them. 9) During character creation pick a deity or no deity based on the play style you are going for. Lopoku, for example, is perfect if you are going with a straight finesse play style. 10) Always have a melee and ranged weapon as your primary and secondary. Learn to switch between the two in a fluid motion. It not only makes combat easier to manage, it looks cool as well.

      @Paradox-ng6ox@Paradox-ng6ox11 ай бұрын
  • I like Detect Hidden, but you wind up getting SO much gold by mid-game that I usually just put 2 points in it then focus on Blacksmithing and Sagecrafting. Around level 15 I'll max Detect HIdden then go searching for lorestones to get all the stat boosts I want. Also I try to keep side quests to a minimum. The main and faction quest lines give you "twists of fate" and also force you to move to harder areas earlier, which levels you up quicker. Doing every side quest wears me out by the time I get to Klurikon. And you can always go back and complete side quest lines after you finish the game.

  • I have played the original game for years now. One trick I've learned that makes the game better and can be done in Re-Reckoning, is once I reach a level 3 or 4 , I run all the way to the east coast to Rathir and Moon Camp , activating areas for experience points. I save every time I reach a new area. This gives me a chance to open a few chests, scavenge loot piles and activate some lorestones. Reaching Moon Camp allows me to make contact with Donnah Vulgar and Eren Calse. Donnah will buy peasant clothes, which you find early on, but have no place to sell them for good money and you can sell stolen items to Calse. You can also break crates and vases for easy gold along the way. In Rathir, I go to the Customs House where there is a ton of crates to smash and a storeroom with some good items in them. You can then "fast travel" back to Gorhart with better items and more money. this also makes it easier later on when you need to get to another area, since you have already activated it.

  • Here is a tip for people who play the game. 1: When going to recycle items, always save, recycle, and see if you get the best part of the items, if you did not get the part that you need it, just reload and that's it. 2: Invest in smithing, it' will give you an upper hand on fine equipment that you can craft yourself. 3: always pick reagents, they are free and when you need healing, just get on the menu and bam, potions are costly, and the plants have the same effect. 4: always do early explorations and start whit normal difficult, when reaching level 10 switch to hard and then on 20 switch to very hard, the exp values change, the enemy level's too. 5: farm big enemies like leanashe, rock/mountain trolls and crudocks, for secured loot of green, blue quality for crafting. 6: farm belts from the freeman people to get extra money on your pockets! 7: always buy jewels that give you chances to critical hits, health and mana are always brought to you from the equipment parts.

    • Here is a tip from the olden days: Between your starting 4 skill points, your points from leveling up, the trainers, and each of the skill books, the base game lets you have 89 of the 90 total skill points, as long as you don't do the trainers out of order or pick up the skill book for your starting +2 skill before accessing both of that skill's low level trainers. The DLC (included in this version) adds four master trainers to the game, letting you max out everything, even if you made a mistake or two. (And given that two of the trainers are tied to a faction you can tick off, locking you out of their services, it is *FAR* too easy to make those mistakes.)

    • Buy Blazing Salve potion from Canneroc alchemist. Works on webs even if your weapon doesn't have fire. Also, use an ability on the Widow (or any enemy w/ staff) as they make that circle of fire. Your ability cancels out the circle. Spiders are also vulnerable to lightning dmg, but not as much as fire.

  • I would also strongly suggest bumping up dispel before starting the House of Ballard's Champions missions and beyond as it is very, very important to have in those late Ballard quests. It scales per level so you could end up wanting to have it even up to 9 or above. You can re-spec your character to buff the dispel going into the missions and then re-spec after the mission to have the dispel covered thru the use of Fateweavers

  • Nice guide, Caedo - here's a "trick" that I've never seen used during playthroughs on youtube: If you have invested at least 5 points in the Dispelling skill and are below level 20, when you reach Castle Windermere in the House of Ballads quest line, you can save the Court of Enchantment - it opens up dialogue options and may have an effect on the epilogue of the House of Ballads, depending on your choices during the battle with the Maid ...

  • After you start finding higher tier gear, I recommend banking sets for specs you currently are not playing in case you decide to change your mind/fate. A quick way to get a place to bank said sets is to make sure to do the quests in the area with the spiders so the village grants you your own home there. Saves some trouble for having to hunt down a full set with the stats you want, even if it may need a little catchup if you haven't replaced the pieces recently.

  • Good vid! Re-Reckoning just got released on PS+ (in the UK at least, prob elsewhere too) and I remembered playing the demo on Xbox360 waaaay back in the day (it feels like much longer than 9 years ago...) and I really enjoyed the demo. Never bought the actual game though. The remaster is pretty decent, runs at a nice clip, esp on my PS5, and I just spent 4 hours happily getting out of the Well, stealing some shit in the first village (did my time, then went back in, unleashed a prisoner and stole everything in the place while the guards were hunting down the escapee 😆) and doing a minor early mission. I can see that this game could be a MAJOR time-sink, it seems to be absolutely MASSIVE in scale, so much content. Sadly I doubt I will stick with it for long, but it is fun for sure. I wish I was young again and had all the time in the world to play a game like this to death. Ah well, maybe in the next life.

  • Concerning backpacks, the one that you can get in the Dead Kel DLC is the only one in the game that doesn't do anything for inventory space. Having played the original game a few times, most of these things were old news to me, but that one change with Re-Reckoning with regards to enemy scaling is nice to see. I've only played through Re-Reckoning enough so far to see that they fixed the 2 most annoying bugs I found in the original PC port: Ui scaling on a 4K monitor, and a problem with the lockpicking minigame if v-sync is turned off.

  • Save often. You should have about 3 staggered saves per character (about every hour or so or the start of a boss or dungeon) and cycle overwriting them as you play along. That way if the game glitches you maybe only have to redo an hour of gameplay and not 8 like I had to.

  • It's always handy to have Fate Potions with you especially during boss fights or mini bosses. You can craft them using Essence of Fate from enemies who drop them. When you get to the fight, use a Fate Potion, enter Reckoning Mode and it helps the fights go much faster. Granted this is in normal mode, but I wouldn't see it still not help in harder difficulties.

The quest tasks you with killing two bandits and collecting their daggers as proof of your kill. However, if you kill the one called Osgar at a bandit camp near a river before you accept the quest from the Warsworn, then his corpse will become un-lootable, preventing you from completing the quest. This has actually happened to me. I killed Osgar while on another quest before I found the Warsworn faction, and now I can't complete this vital quest I need to in order to join the faction. So if you are planning on joining this faction, then I recommend you join up as fast as you can before you accidentally trigger this glitch.

  • Here's an important detail regarding your last tip: You don't need more than 2 additional ability points per ability tree. Most abilities can go only 2 points above the normal limit, and the rest can only go +1 above that limit. Then there's the "Weapon Mastery" abilities that won't surpass their limit at all. Take this in mind while respeccing if you have any twist of fate or piece of equipment that gives you additional ability points, so you don't end up wasting points or using useless equipment.

  • I encountered a glitch that prevented me from finishing a quest early into the game, might be useful to keep in mind: The quest is called 'The Commendation' and is given to you in the first town. You'll be asked to kill two bandit leaders and bring back their daggers. One of the bandits is located in a camp to the north next to a river. The bandit (Osgar) spawns next to the river (at least he did for me). If you kill him too close to the river, there's a chance that his dagger will drop into the river. The quest marker will show its location, but you'll never be able to reach it, I had to reload an older save (lost about an hour of play) in order to fix it.

If you get out of the area, you will see the enemy returning back to the location they spawn (like spiders). Use range weapons to pick them out one at a time, and repeat this. Also, you can draw an enemy out to kill by firing range weapons (arrows are best) and pick them out one at a time instead of charging in and get surrounded.

    • Another thing I found out is that the type advantage system in Pokemon is very similar to Amalur's weakness system. Ice and Fire-Types are very effective against Bug types, take this into account when fighting enemies that are bugs/arachnids like Spiders, Venomspitters, Crudoks (I believe..). Fire-types are strong against Grass-types, so Boggarts and Thresh are vulnerable to fire. Physical damage (Normal-type moves) are powerful against enemies with both no or some form of elemental defenses (Crudoks, Murghan, etc. are examples of magical enemies with elemental defense). An example of an enemy with no elemental defense are human enemies such as Bandits, Warriors, etc. which are also vulnerable to physical damage. A little side note for electrical-elementals, there aren't a lot of type advantages against electricity so i would recommend investing in physical or fire/ice type weaponry. Electrical damage is crowd control and trades that skill for efficiency and damage so DO NOT invest in it. Poison is DOT (Damage Over Time) and also is ineffective unless used with the right weaponry. This is otherwise making Poison outranking efficiency as an element over Electricity and Ice. Final thing, your level alters the level of the loot you discover in different places, not the level OF the place. Basically you can go into Gorhart and grab shit from the special delivery and it will be high level or any other loot will be the highest level that can match you. It pays off to return to places you HAVE been rather than NEEDING TO GO. And also be sure to stray off the path and get a little adventurous. The campaign can wait and who knows, maybe you can find one of those rare fate flowers behind a hidden door or discover a mini-campaign quest like the House of Sorrows in Klurikon, eastbound from the entrance of Mel Senshir.

  • This might help in getting uniques and armour set parts. In the original game, Trolls were an excellent source of uniques and set pieces. Especially the Trolls in Haxhi Dam. Juat save before kill and try again and while Re-Reckoning upped the general drop rate for those items considerably thorough the game, any missing parts might be easier obtained that way. Save before you try to steal from someone and do it before you even look at what he or she has in the inventory. It changes every time you reload and look again. But you have to save BEFORE looking at the persons inventory for the first time. If you like what you find, save again. The inventory will no longer change, even when leaving the area. There are exceptions, where certain people always have certain items (like keys and queat related stuff) and others where they always only just have nothing or a handfull gold or some rather useless stuff. But then, I stole some unique violet weapon from a Fae at the house of ballads, near the start of the game, after reloading about 10 times, while 9 times he had rather useless stuff like votiv or shaped stone or things like that. It is tedious and time consuming but can net you some nice stuff. Chests not opened/looked at the inventory, can also have different things. But you have to leave the area, f.e. fast travel or enter/leave/reenter a dungeon/house to reset the items.

    • Oh no, pls. don't feel silly 'cause playing this game on any next-gen console will improve graphics, load times and better FPS. ;-P

    • It's worth it for the lightning fast load times. I'm just now playing for first time and loving it.

  • Unless you are specifically trying a stealth build, all your initial skill points should go into detect hidden just enough that you can get the hidden loot, then all of it should be focused in mercantile unless you're waiting for the next tier of skills. You'll start having more money than you know what to do with which will allow you to purchase better stuff with, purchase training for your other skills, or purchase a fateweaver's services without worry. • Alchemy only becomes decently useful once you've maxed it so you can make fate potions. Until then, you should have enough money soon to buy all the potions you want. Max it soon so you can make the fate potions though • blacksmithing is irrelevant until near end game as you can't acquire the components needed to make stuff better than anything you can just find until end game, which is based on your level not the points in it. Until then, you'll have enough money to buy anything you want • dispell isn't needed and if you really want it, just save scum. If you don't wanna save scum, at least you'll have the money to keep curing yourself and repairing gear • persuasion is save scum-able and usually inconsequential • lockpicking should be the last as the mechanics are extremely easy to succeed and you'll have more lockpicks than you'll know what to do with • stealth is ONLY relevant if your whole character is built around it

  • It's nice to see this game getting a bit of a second chance after getting shafted by Skyrim the first time around. I've played both, and while I prefer KoA for gameplay and style, Skyrim has a lot more from the modding community.

  • Thank God I haven’t got that far because now I got to go home and start over again so that I can reset when I get to the Fate Weaver

  • You might want to resepec oftern trainers trin you at certain skill lvl if you are more or less than their range they wont train you. Respeck and go to them again to get extra akill points. Gear speck to your lvl when you get them. So if you want a particular build you might qant to delay that builds associated faction quest. Crafted armor may not look cool but with proper blacksmiting skills it will outclass any aromr sets. But to get the most out of your abilities you need factional or universal sets as they reward + piints to your abilities.
