  • DJ is the #1 GOAT. And the reason he beats JJ, GSP, Anderson, and Khabib, is because of the major height and reach *disadvantage* he’s had to deal with his whole career. These are disadvantages JJ, GSP, Anderson, and Khabib, didn’t really have to deal with. So, given that, pound for pound, reach for reach - DJ beats them all. And btw it’s a greater accomplishment to lose, and avenge the loss. So Anderson and Khabib are last on the list (Anderson has more title defenses). #1 DJ #2 GSP #3 JJ #4 Anderson #5 Khabib

    @teegees@teegees Жыл бұрын
    • 💯 bro. I would have made my GOAT list same as yours but I would put JJ probably no. 4 or 5 just because he popped, making his legacy questionable whether he needed help from enhancements or not. Hence, you cannot claim without a doubt that he didn’t need help. Still, he has skills. But DJ being above GSP makes sense. You elaborated it so well.

    • everyone has their attributes and limitations...GSP and Khabib are not particularly tall either ........being short never held back Mike tyson....he was destroying much larger opponents in his prime easily ...and look at Volkanovski.........DJ also lost his belt to Triple C who he had a 2" reach advantage over .....so.....he is an amaizing fighter though, and you are entitled to your opinion.......i just dont care for the reasoning ......I like prime Anderson, as it seemed like he knew what his opponents were going to do before they did, ..this coming from a big GSP fan

    • @@rok2791 Great points... indeed we all have our opinions. Btw about Volk, the dude has deceptively long arms for his height. The way I think about it is this: if we took them and gave them all the exact same physical attributes, who’d likely win? And that’s why I end up with DJ at the top spot. If he’s able to accomplish what he accomplished despite his physical disadvantages, imagine his performance when you take those disadvantages out. It’s like playing a video game, and still kicking ass, despite having shitty gear. The minute you have normal gear, it’s like you’re OP. DJ’s biggest “weakness” is probably his mental warfare skills (mind games, trash talking). Or maybe he does, but he won’t engage them, because he prefers to let pure combat skill do the talking. Either way, because of this, he’s less entertaining a fighter. But for me personally, combat sports should be more about combat, than entertainment. And that’s where you realize that the UFC values entertainment more than combat. I mean look at slap league. That’s pure entertainment. This is why Dana never truly appreciated DJ, and DJ was very happy to leave the UFC, for an organization that values martial combat, more than entertainment. Anyway that too is just my opinion :)

  • I had no complaints about Herb, especially watching him ref under UFC rules and not be willing to break up useless no action clinches where neither fighter is throwing effective strikes or trying to advance position. In fact I think OneFC did a much better job separating clinches with no action and creating exciting high level fights. Their fighters aren't just wading in and being reckless but they are taking risks. Fighting is risky and the UFC is seemingly allowing their fighters to almost eliminate risk and turn their matches into glorified sparring bouts.
