We never bothered about the colour of our skin, we just loved the music and had some great times dancing the nights away! The best Soul singers were always black. Otis Reading, Eddy Floyd. the late great Percy Sledge, the Supremes, Four Tops, Arthur Conley, Three Degrees, the Crystals and our own Geno Washington just to name a few!! What times we had and no trouble. What has gone wrong!!

    • All BLM is at this point is a power move to get superiority in society. This isn't even about George Floyd anymore. This isn't even about racial equality. And if you're white and you have a different opinion, you might as well be Hitler to these power grabbing people that have ruined what was originally a good and pure movement. Breonna Taylor wasn't "murdered" by the police at all. She wasn't sleeping in her bed. The police did not hunt her down and attack her. She was caught in the crossfire after her boyfriend opened fire on the police that had a no-knock warrant. Don't believe me? Read up on it at The New York Times. I'll wait. This is one of many examples of people stretching and twisting the truth to their advantage to paint a picture of a witch hunt against black people in order to make it seem like they are the victim and to gain remorse and sympathy from those around them while also gaining special treatment from others simply because they're afraid to say anything else because any other opinion other than "all the police are bad. This is a witch hunt against black people!" is squashed and called racist and shunned.

    • Yep, we can die knowing that we were blessed with the best music EVER created! It will NEVER even come close to being duplicated! Thank goodness for sites like KZhead that allow us to still listen to these magical songs! Such unbelievable talent that miraculously came together during the 60’s & 70’s! And such wonderful memories of the times when we were young & innocent!!

I understand that we don't know each other before now but one thing I believe is that it takes only a minute to accept friendship and that's why I have asked to accept my request of friendship. It would be an honor, l'm looking forward to a good friendship between us. May I ask where you are from?

  • Welp...I'm 59 and this was the music the grownups played as I was growing up, thank God, because I...was...listening. I inherently understood the feelings were for grownups and that it was what to expect when I grew up. All the angst, the pleading and begging, the forgiveness, all of it came with the territory of love. I played the music for my kids as they grew up and they are hooked too. Last night, my 39 y/o daughter took me to see the Temps and the Tops in Staten Island and I was so overwhelmed I cried. My heart will never be still....

Listen to the way he intentionally makes his voice crack, as if he's so distraught and begging for a chance. Brilliant.
