Both these teams went into this (their final group match) in joint 2nd place with 3 group points so it was a crucial one. The winner of this match is guaranteed to go through to the next round but the loser is likely to get eliminated (although ultimately, that all depends on whether HUB PTC can win their final match with No Cap).

  • I must say that it annoys me a little bit to see certain athletes, like Sarin, not go for the handshake/fistbump/whatever after the chase. It's such a unique and genuine thing about this sport, and it shows huge sportsmanship to congratulate an opponent no matter the outcome. I mean I get it, sometimes the timing is off, sometimes you're on completely differing sides of the quad, sometimes it's just not very feasible. But still, it's nice thing to do.

    @Sjoholm13@Sjoholm133 жыл бұрын
    • Yeah, the sportsmanship between the athletes is really nice and something that just kind of organically happened but I also think that's it's good to give people the flexibility to do what they want and do what they feel is right. Augustine is similar to Sarin like this and it's just because he's so focussed on the next chase.

      @WorldChaseTag@WorldChaseTag3 жыл бұрын
    • Well flexing after scoring/defending is part of the game, it challenge your opponent mentally. I don't think trying to win no matter what it takes is consider lack of sportsmanship.

      @TheBbaks@TheBbaks3 жыл бұрын
    • @@TheBbaks I actually did something similar several videos back. One of the things I love about this sport and the athletes is that sportsmanship, but some of the newer groups seem to lack the same perspective and enjoyment that I've seen up to this point. Part of me wonders if it's a side effect of doing it here in America versus in the UK, I can't really put my finger on it, just bothers me when they no longer look like they're having fun

      @riuphane@riuphane3 жыл бұрын
    • @@WorldChaseTag 100% agree with you guys there, if the handshake was in the rules or more formal - it wouldn't happen because of organic sportsmanship or joy. It didn't really bother me when Augustine missed it for some reason, I think because of his very clear and visible focus. Sarin could be the exact same, just that it's not as clear to the observer. I mean I don't know the guy, and have nothing against him, also it's a game and all that. Great match none the less!

      @WorldChaseTag@WorldChaseTag3 жыл бұрын
    • @@WorldChaseTag I was going to post this on its own, but will jump in here since Pankil Doshi is hitting on a concern of mine as well. The commentators do a fantastic job of play by play...but I would love to see a short intro before the match begins and a short outro afterwards. Sport viewing is all about the narrative and context into which the physical feats we are watching fit. I dont thinks it's an extra aspect that a viewer should find elsewhere...it should be a key part of the experience. Who are these two competitors? Do they have history? What's at stake in the outcome of this match...both for these two teams as for the division they are competing in? I should know these things before that first chase begins. I avoid the comments until after I watch the match to prevent spoilers. To be told after the fact that the match I already watched was actually more interesting than I thought because a team captain was out...that's a missed opportunity at narrative. And dont get me wrong...I dont want network tv levels of saccharine drama. But remember that without context and narrative, baseball is just grown men hitting balls with sticks and running around in circles. Add in the stakes and the story...its a sport.

  • I gotta say, to me, Empire was robbed of a win. They improved so much from the first game, I hope I see them next time in wct usa. Also, Falco is an insane chaser, nobody even got far from him and he didn't even rush, just took his time. It's amazing to see people going slow and steady in wct, feels like another game.

  • This match were very very even. Unless one breaks down the times. Then it is clearly APK Blue's game. Considering how APB were steadily above 10 seconds per run (except once), while EMP were skirting around bellow 10 seconds most of the time. Here is the times for each run and what team is evading: EMP: 8.5 APB: 10 EMP: 3.8 APB: 17.9 EMP: 5.5 APB: 10.9 EMP: 11.2 APB: 10.5 EMP: 10.5 APB: 11.9 EMP: 19.9 APB: 8.1 EMP: 8.5 APB: 20 (Evasion) APB: 12.8 EMP: 9.5 Total time: APB: 102.1 EMP: 77.4 To be honest, I think the scoring might be more fair if one just gives each team X times to evade and X times chasing. And time to rest between, and maybe extend the run time up to 30-40 seconds. And then look at the accumulated time evading, who ever has more wins. It wouldn't largely change the game, since the goal is still to not get caught for as long as possible. And it is likely easier for the audience to follow.
