When we moved to the Blue Ridge Mountains in Georgia when I was a kid, my brother talked me into pointing my flashlight out my window one night. I only did that once lol! The craziest sounds out there, too! I now know what was making those noises, but at the time it was the stuff of nightmares. There was a spot in the woods that got sunshine, so I would lay in that spot and daydream often. There was always this bird noise in the tree next to me, but now I know it was actually a fox lol! Beautiful babies. I've had a few encounters with doxes years ago. Once a baby followed me through the woods. Then the mom appeared too. Poor things were looking for water and food. Sadly I had neither. Both beautiful red foxes and very friendly I was amazed how dog like they were.

That occurs when they're bred in captivity. Their ears can sometimes flop too. A man did a breeding experiment with foxes to show how dogs may have been domesticated. They were bred for docile temperament and in doing so, he found that their physical features began to change. It's really interesting.

Here in Canada, particularly on the east coast where I'm from we have wild silver foxes. Age and environment also play a big roll as some change color based on the season

Right you are. I think the foxes in the video are the domesticated, specially bred Siberian silver(?) foxes (Yes, even the one with the reddish fur colour). What makes me think that is most of them have the silvery or black fur colour, and they’re more fluffy and less lanky than wild UK red foxes. Not to mention, the black fur one has a collar on. That’s why I laughed when some people above said “you’ll get rabies“. I just read Nat Geo when it wasn’t complete crap. The more you know ;)

When we moved to the Blue Ridge Mountains in Georgia when I was a kid, my brother talked me into pointing my flashlight out my window one night. I only did that once lol! The craziest sounds out there, too! I now know what was making those noises, but at the time it was the stuff of nightmares. There was a spot in the woods that got sunshine, so I would lay in that spot and daydream often. There was always this bird noise in the tree next to me, but now I know it was actually a fox lol! Beautiful babies. I've had a few encounters with doxes years ago. Once a baby followed me through the woods. Then the mom appeared too. Poor things were looking for water and food. Sadly I had neither. Both beautiful red foxes and very friendly I was amazed how dog like they were.

Here in Canada, particularly on the east coast where I'm from we have wild silver foxes. Age and environment also play a big roll as some change color based on the season

@StrastTheFox The older ones I met yeah, well polite, the younger ones have horrible demeanor. I meet tourists from all over the world, generally across all age groups the nicest tend to be Koreans/Japanese and South Americans are quite friendly.

Right you are. I think the foxes in the video are the domesticated, specially bred Siberian silver(?) foxes (Yes, even the one with the reddish fur colour). What makes me think that is most of them have the silvery or black fur colour, and they’re more fluffy and less lanky than wild UK red foxes. Not to mention, the black fur one has a collar on. That’s why I laughed when some people above said “you’ll get rabies“. I just read Nat Geo when it wasn’t complete crap. The more you know ;)
