For anyone wondering, at 5:52 he gets the extra dollar because after you spend the 30 on the ticket and scratch it off, you momentarily have 5 more dollars cause that’s what you won. Then you spend the 3 dollars and the 2 dollars. If it were one person, the equation would be, -30+5-3-2 = -30. This way you aren’t missing the dollar and the math works out. He didn’t add the 5 dollars back and instead added the 3 and subtracted the 2 leaving one dollar.
