OPENING Weekend GOBBLER Down! | Turkey Hunting with a 28 Gauge
Matt is out for the opening weekend of turkey shotgun season. The first day didn't go as planned, as the turkeys were tight-lipped and most kept their distance. The ones that did show up came in very close! Matt changes tactics for day two and his patience is rewarded as a big tom steps out into the field he's hunting. It was a great weekend of turkey hunting!

I swear turkeys are the dumbest bird until I try hunting them😂
Turkeys: - Will spot the slightest movement and run away while out hunting - Will also stand in the road and gobble everytime you honk your horn
Bears too. I see them all the time, then they disappear during bear season.
Beautiful Gobbler, Congratulations. Awesome spurs on him. Great footage of the hen and Jake's.
Thanks Daniel!
Great video as always Matt!
Thanks Elliott!
Congrats Matt! Sick hen footage..👍
Thanks!
Whoa, you did it again! Different fields, same expertise in the windy prairie, same ethics of respect for your quarry, and wonderful footage of your video that teaches for a beginner like me a tonne of information to get inspired by and succeed (may be?!?!) Being French and greedy (and a very small family!) I would let pass a cool Jake, much younger and easier to cook (sad but True, from fresh involuntary roadkill in front of me in Virginia in 1990, a young 1 and a half year old hen is the best American poultry! I am not guilty, they were (are they still?!?!) having shooting drives in autumn on flocks in Old Dominion State! God is with Saint Hubert to Bless you all! Thanks for keeping your promises to keep the channel open!
Appreciate it Roger!
Great footage - congrats on the bird!

Nice bird buddy! Our Toms are still hanging with jakes and the hens are establishing a pecking order. Pretty vocal in the trees but as soon as they hit the ground, silence.
Thanks Troy! Should just keep getting better the next few weeks.
Beautiful Bird! very nice spurs. I live in Southwest NE. They were vocal on the roost, but Quite on the ground for us three old Farts that hunt together. Turkeys, Three, me 0. A nice Tom came in Sunday for one of us, didn't make a sound. You know its windy when their tails fold in half. Congratulations Matt.
Thanks Paul! Hopefully they start getting more talkative soon
