Great video Shroom ! Back in January, I've fished on the other side of the river to this pontoon and caught a 36cms bream. As this is the Parra River, I let that one go. Took some great photos for memories. 🙂 Recently, been going up the Hawkesbury River and Bobbin Head. Highly recommended 👍

Tying on a big hook and running sinker makes a suitable grapple to get your rod back, just have to cast and slow retrieve. I salvaged my mates rod after about 20 mins and we managed to land the fish which was still hooked on his (a small estaury cod)
Yeah that's how I did it Tim. I usually vertical drop to depth test first to figure out a good angle

Crazy night Shroom! I watch every one of your video's and look forward to each and every one mate👍...........I had a similar story as I took a friend fishing in my boat drifting the Georges River near Deepwater/Kelso, the rod/reel he was fishing with was mine and got caught on the bottom so as the boat drifted the line became taut so he proceeded to throw my rod and reel outfit into the water and basically freaked out. In my side vision my first reaction was to dive into the water to retrieve the rod and reel before it sank, but unfortunately I lost my Shimano Stradic 1000FI reel and Shimano T Curve 7ft bream outfit he was fishing with and the Shimano Stradic Vanford 1000 and Millerod XFLC I was fishing with.🤪😭 So after sweating for a few days, my plan of attack was to go back to the same area 5 days latter when the river/moon tides were at their lowest ebb and anchor and get out of the boat into this dark green brown bullshark infested waters. With the water level up to my neck I preceded to walk in a grid pattern feeling with my feet along the river bottom, as the tide turned and began to deepen I finally found my Millerod XFLC & Vanford setup first then the T curve Stradic setup second, in another 15 minutes the water level would have been over my face. Cleaned up both rods and issued both my reels to the Shimano Company at Taren Point for a major servicing, with both outfits running better than ever.👍

Hey Shroom, Your custom fishing rod is 90% complete. 7 foot, 2-6lb. Light green, red, gold wrapping. All that needs to happen is the epoxy resin guide coatings (takes about 24hrs), can't be done till school holidays ends.....sorry. Keep in touch with my teacher to organize the meetup! Yep, better at night but I have done well in the day too

Four is the max I think one can use in most places Ted! We just lost our rights to ferry wharves and can only use 2 (at most if not all) but that was just regular spot so no restriction there luckily haha
