Some of the advice like around 3:35 with "Take the right amount of steps" sounds so oversimplified and unhelpful but it's such genuinely fantastic advice that was helpful for me to hear! The editing timing up with the demos really makes the lessons you give super effective. You are really great at physically demonstrating mistakes and improper technique and you are also really great at demonstrating the proper technique a minute later. I feel like sometimes other badminton videos I've watched don't show much of a difference between the two 😅
Glad we could really help you out and hopefully more to come soon.
How do you find my problems so easily? You are definitely an impressive coach.
Haha, glad the tips really help you. We just try to make videos about the usual mistakes players we coach make.
First time I saw a useful video ...very impressive coaching about footwork n recovery
Thanks Rama glad you found it useful.
Easily relatable! Thanks for this. Also it’s interesting how you can replicate the mistakes for the video very well!!
The drop shot recovery one was legit the best!
Glad that helped and hope with have more to come.
One Of The Best Badminton Tutorials.Thank You.
Great videos - I'm an intermediate level with a couple of years of playing badminton. I can relate all the mistakes to myself, and will definitely help me.
Thanks and hope our tips can help you improve and up your skill level.
Wow... the best video I have seen till date... you have helped me out finding the mistakes I do... you have given me answers to all my questions... Thank you...
Honestly exactly what I've been searching for for a while now. Great vid, earned a subscriber
Thanks for the Sub and awesome that we could help you out.
Thank you for the knowledge, it is very useful🥳👍
Great video, not many videos on youtube cover the dos and don'ts like yours. If you have time please do videos on game strategy, that will set your channel to a much higher level. Thank you
Thanks Umang, means a lot to us. That's a great idea, I'll add it to our list for future dos and don'ts.

For doubles, the most basic and important strategy is to go sides when you lift or clear and front-back when you smash or drop. And also to always be quick to pounce on drop shots or net shots which are too high.
I'm an intermediate player and i always make mistake sin footwork this video helped me to to learn how to recover fast from one shot to another and have fast movement in the court. And if you habe rime please make a video on how to pay trick shots and also how to change our shots in the game and strategies for other shots .
Your videos really help intermidiate players to become advanced, the small details which coaches never teach. Love your videos.❤
Happy to help!
Very nicely explained, just the right video for me.
Brilliant video guys thanks, it is these simple details that make the difference!
Glad is was easy and simple to understand Roger thanks. We want to make learning the sport as easy as possible.
Love these, thanks!!!!
Great work I'd like to see more recovery footwork for the smash and clear. This definitely helped me
J W glad it helped you. Yes when I was making this one I thought we could cover that as well. Thanks
very useful video👍
Thank you sir!! I had been struggling in my footwork and body position since one year.
No problem and glad we could help with your footwork. We’ve got more footwork videos to come on our channel.
great content coach! been wanting to comeback to Badminton after a few months off. Definitely gonna grind with these vids. I am subscribing
Great to hear!
Lovely video thanks
Good video, thanks.
Great video. V nicely demonstrated 👍👍
Thanks khan much appreciated and glad it helped.
This is what I needed Thank you for the video
Glad it helped Rupam.
thanks for the great tips!
Glad it helped Ron.
The key point here is a tight net shot, after which a fast push cannot be hit. High clears will provide enough time to move, so the main focus here is a returned net shot.
Hello Jacobs Badminton. I really like the videos on this channel. and I want to give a little suggestion for the video format. I wish there was a part where the wrong way and the right way were brought together in the same frame (side by side). I think this is very helpful for other viewers to better understand the content of the video. Thank you.. Hopefully this channel can be more successful
Thanks for that. We like to experiment with the content and editing so might give that a try on future videos and see if people like ti.
I will be waiting for new videos from this channel..🙌 Keep the spirit and greetings for sports 💪
Great beneficial video, u have earned a new sub. Keep up the great work
Lion Warrior thanks for the Sub and glad you enjoyed the video.
Hi Yonex astrox 6 or apacs wave 10. Which one is good for smashes and controlled defence placing? Plz rply
I've never heard of the better recovery for around the head shots, thanks you so much for helping fixing this very common problem.

Glad it really helped Manmohan.
Thank you so much. I will practice more.
Glad we could help.
I'm going to try out these tips... I'm 5'3 and have short legs, and I refuse to believe that my inability to cover the whole court (especially one end to another) is due to me being tiny..... how much do you think being tall provides an advantage to cover the court faster?
thanks for this video. great techniques
You're very welcome!
My footwork needs work, this is a great lesson 👍
Glad is helped and hopefully we can make more footwork videos for you.
Thank You...

Just what the doctor ordered. Great video for someone who is finding time to improving his badminton skills without a coach.
Perfect for me! Because I don't have money for Coach ☺️
Glad this really helped and hopefully we can provide you with more expert tips in the future.

Video bạn này hướng dẫn rất chi tiết, rất hay
I visited all the coaches in my city but could not find even half-decent of the coaching bestowed upon in this video 🙌
Thanks for the great comments sanchit and hopefully it's helped you improve your game.
Oh my god, thank you, i needed someone to tell me this so bad
Just glad we could help haha
Hi Steve, If you study Lin Dan's movement (yes I know he is a rather exceptional case, but!) he will often walk, run back from taking a shot deep in the corner rather than chasse. Rare as it may be, it clearly can be done effectively. Lin Dan is often an exception to the rule! 😆
Simon, not sure if you listen to the whole video but yes I agree he would walk back in certain situations, like after a clear or high lift. Don't think you'd see him walk back after an attacking drop shot.
big thanks
Glad it helped Marcell.
Great video
Thanks Abhishek
Thank you sir 🥺🥺
No worries Anant, glad you found it useful.
Love it but this one is quite tricky to see the difference. Would be better if u put the don't and do side by side at the end of each clip or smth, overall superb content!
Glad you enjoyed it Afif. That's something I'm going to try out for the future.
Great video 👍. But i want ask you, have you won superseries bwf tour ? 😁.
Makan, we wish haha. Daryl has represented England though.
How do I do my splitstep when my oppenent does a deception shot to me? I struggle to get the right splitstep direction in singles, cause i get wrong footed all the time. Great videos btw.
Lechro, glad you enjoyed it. Your is is based on what shot your expecting and antipating what your opponent will hit. Of course that comes with practice and experience. If your not sure where the shuttle is going you'll need to do a dead split (Square and on the spot) and adjust as you push off.
My casual mistake 😊, thanks 🙏
😀
很好的影片 謝謝您
很高興你喜歡這個視頻
Tq for the video bro. I can be better to follow this foot work
Glad it really helped improve your game.
Nice video. Nobody makes videos like this.
I do a lot of panic steps!!!
Very nice, good , great....✌👌👍👏🌹💐👑
Thanks Irfan, glad you enjoyed it.
crazy views 👀👀
Thanks Benjamin, the growth has been mad but glad we can help so many people and that they enjoy our videos.
Pls do video about defense in doubles
Hoping to do some doubles videos in the near future.
Nice
Thanks very much
split step is important
I am not able to makeout what's the difference in the foot work for the first set
First one racket leg is back on the recovery, where we should have racket leg in front after a tight net to be more prepared to the the shuttle with a jump movement.
The first one is my biggest mistake, I can't take off the basketball footwork habit. Thank you 😊
Glad we could help
Gud vdo
Thanks very much
3:13 - splits
I have been struggling on tournaments because im nervouse can you help me?
Play lot of tournaments. Definitely ur nervous will go away. And while playing normal game think urself in a situation tournament like scenario.
👍😍
I don't why but whenever I am playing game how much ever I try my left foot will only come while playing net shots or lifts, but during practice my right leg will come forward. Can anybody pls help me with this
Why you use sport shoe
How to recover from backhand drop?
We can address that in one of our next footwork videos.
ok
his acting is so good when he plays like a bad player :D
Pls upload footwork video
Don't worry, we have more of those to come.
@@JacobsBadminton thank u
Drop Shot: Because smashing the ball straight into the net is just too mainstream. Let's aim for new lows, people! 🤷♂️🎾
I'm definitely the "don't guy"
haha, well that fact you recognise it will help you correct these mistakes in the future.
Fancy Footwork guys
Thanks Wayne, Easy for me but Daryl is a try hard.
I agree with this guy but in last step I think it's not quite right because when you do any tricks the shuttle near your body will make your trick become more hard to guess
I know what you mean but to trick your opponent and make it deceptive I think you need to make it look like your going to take it early first and I don't think we did.
Does the round-the-head recovery contrast with this video from a few years back? kzhead.info/sun/hM5mZdp5aKd8hok/bejne.html Dunno who the young assistant is in that video! 😁
Yeah that's young Daryl helping out.
I saw that now I become a cricket player😊😊😅😅
1st time here
actually, when you get used to the game. Your body naturally adapt the footwork.
Sometimes you will pick things up subconsciously from watching others and won't think too much about it but everyone is different. Others might have to really focus on it a practice footwork to make it part of muscle memory.
This must be more appropriate for a singles player ?
Apart from the last one is it mostly for singles footwork yes. Hoping to do some doubles soon.
How about double footwork
Got some doubles videos coming up don’t worry haha
Playing our style is important, not need correct method
Whose style are you talking about?
Lol no
give us side by side comparison...🙂
Hopefully we'll do that in future videos
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤😊😊😊😊
Like always only half of the knowledge misleads good progress. Yes this are ok examples for standards and automated movements. But if you watch Pros, its although about Focus and guard and Risk and Traps....
Indians easily get injured than other country ..please teach them imp of foot work might help them.
Hopefully we can put together some more footwork videos.
Good video but seriously who play as bad as dont while playing? 😅
Thanks but you'd be surprised by some of the mistakes we see when coaching.
