  • Best CD cutting tutorial on the whole internet. I keep seeing people who freeze them, and they are even harder to cut and they lose flakes of the reflective material along the edges. Thanks!

  • Hi! Great video! I’m having trouble with one part though. I was able to separate one of my CDs into two layers (not nearly as cleanly as yours. I had to break it in half first), and I haven’t been able to separate one since. Do you have any particular method to removing the one layer or is it just lots of practice? Thanks!!

    @sandrahollett2299@sandrahollett22994 жыл бұрын
    • You could use a thin blade to separate them

      @bubblegummi851@bubblegummi8514 жыл бұрын
    • DVDs have two layers, CDs only have one. So your first one was probably a DVD.

  • How u cut the cd. Can u give the link pl. It is v.diff.for me to cut even though I put it in hot water for 2. Mins. The shine part is curling in the borders. What to do? U r telling that the CDs to be in hot water for 10 min. The shine portion will peel off know? Pl reply. yr. work is very beautiful. That easyness is not experienced by me.

  • Hey! Thanks for sharing! I have a question, though, as I tried this last night and didn't have the same results. When you remove the CD from the bowl of water, it looks like you're separating one CD into two pieces--like there's a thin plastic covering. I can't tell if you're just separating two CDs, or if you're actually removing the top of one CD. I did this technique with four CDs, all old music CDs from different manufacturers, but none could be separated. All four had printing on them, which either peeled off or I could scrape off, but most of the iridescence came off with the printing. Maybe you're using newer CDs?

    @RingoWild@RingoWild6 жыл бұрын
    • Yes, that's right. There are two parts of the cd, the plastic clear layer and the colored thin layer, I was separating the clear plastic layer from the cd. Did you use CD's or DVD's, the are made differently. I used standard empty CD'S that I purchased at the dollar store.

      @MadeByFate@MadeByFate6 жыл бұрын
    • Hi, only DVDs can be separated as they are made in two layers, contrary to CDs.

      @Debvely@Debvely6 жыл бұрын
    • So DVDs cannot be peeled is it I was trying to peel a DVD after seeing this video...I tried all hard tools not go :-)
