It's what Hawaii is known for...sun-drenched beaches, masses enjoying the tropical weather, and being waited on hand and foot while exerting as little effort as possible. Well, screw that. At Carnivore, we show you the REAL Hawaii as we join RECOIL's Editor in Chief, Iain Harrison, as he travels to the big island in the middle of the Pacific Ocean. But this is no ordinary hunt. Iain joins up with local knife forger Neil Kamimura, who will be forging the blades used in this expedition, and Danny Bolton, a local bowhunter whose family has owned land in Hawaii ranging across a wide variety of tropical flora. And speaking of flora, Iain also links up with Flora Kamimura, an expert Gaucho chef who will take a combination of everything collected in the field, and bring it to the table in brilliant fashion, designed to make your mouth water, and your taste buds dance. From the forge, to the field and ocean, all the way to the table, join Carnivore as we show you true hunting...island style.

Thanks for sharing your experience on the Big Island. I grew up there and miss the hunting, fishing, and the way of life there. And yes most of us were taught how to care for the land and harvest from the land. One day I'll be going back there.

The Tahitians who conquered the Mu (the real Hawaiians) were warriors, and they are some of the toughest people I've ever known.
