Jigsaw is one of the most used hand tools in workshops and homes. That's why in this video we show you the tricks, hacks, tips you need to know about the jigsaw. If you are using a jigsaw and wondering how to use a jigsaw, be sure to watch this jigsaw hacks video. Everyone who does DIY and woodworking has a jigsaw. Few people know the features of this jigsaw! In this video called jigsaw hidden features, we show you the jigsaw's hidden features, tricks, hacks and tips. If you are using a jigsaw, be sure to watch this video.
If you notice when he was using the saw with the blade backwards it was starting to come out. Don’t try that unless you’re wearing safety glasses. Also some saws don’t have a wheel that can be moved. The last board wouldn’t have had the frayed edge if it had a less aggressive tooth blade and slower speed. Jigsaws are more like scroll saws than they are sawzall, they aren’t meant to cut through everything fast as possible.
there are different blades for it aswell. downward cutting blades for neat top finish. also copping jigsaw where you use them from under the board. but using a cheap green bosch jigsaw has his limitations
I agree that a finer toothed blade will do the job. But if you are very paranoid about tearout. The tape and close clearance idea on top of it won't hurt. And yes, the first one is super sketchy. There are easier, less dangerous ways to make that cut.
@@n3bux And for that green Bosch'es money you could get noname jigsaw with pendulum switch- much better than that green Bosch which is without it.
@@Tegelane5 already banned this channel from my wiew as most of it is full of crap. may be good for beginers, but is a copy -paste of different channels
Stupid and dangerous the blade on any tool must never face towards the user.
Love your presentation, no music and no yapping just good demonstration of clever techniques. The "no-no" finger wagging cracks me up.
Don’t do the first trick. Drill two holes in the corners and use the blade in the intended manner so it doesn’t come flying out and hit you. Safety first
engineers at bosch jumping off the top of the building 🤣🤣🤣
@@user-ot4ip1wl2jit’s not the way the tool is designed to be used and the blade could much more easily come loose. You can see in the video that the blade is at an angle when cutting. It’s not worth taking the risk when there’s a better way to do the same thing using the tool as it’s intended to be used
That’s what I’ve always done too 👊🏻
Gracias por compartir ,tus conocimientos,y FELICES FIESTAS ...!!!!
I have an old one I got from dad's tools I only use it to cut out large holes in plywood for plumbing and stuff. Use skill saw for everything else shown here. I also use a high quality 7" folding manual saw. I like the tape trick going to try it sometime.
My mind has just been blown completely. Great video
I never gave that a thought. Great idea thanks.
And you should never think about it again.
Köszönöm szépen!! Csodálatos!!
Be extremely careful when using a jigsaw 'backwards', as in the first section. there is a reason for the roller guide. The blades are very brittle so wear good quality safety glasses.
The safety police have arrived. Thanks Bob. I'm sure the parents of grade schoolers appreciate it.
@@joequillun7790 There are literally thousands of extremely serious DIY accidents needing A&E treatment each year. The vast majority would have been prevented by 'A Visit From The Safety Police'. Power Tools and sharp hand tools are not toys. Some degree of Safety Education and correct methods of use before using them is not only sensible, it could save your life.

Tip number 6: Use a circular saw instead of a jigsaw for cross cuts.
Or a mitre saw/chop saw
Not if it’s just a small cut like the first one
But the others I think were just used as an example of tips for other uses too
super..merci pour tout ces conseils
Very good video, did'nt know the jig saw could be that versatile. Love the visuals and no faff.
Briljant. Never thought of indeed. THANKS!!!!!
Thank you for the tips.
Been a woodworker for 35 years, never once thought about putting the blade in backwards..lmao..this is a great day!!! Thanx
Using a blade backwards could damage your saw if you do not have dual supporting saw rolls. You would have to check with the manufacturer to see if it is safe to do!
very helpful.thank you.
Woooow SUPER NICE!!! THank you so much for sharing your knowledge with us wow!!
I also do a lot of DIY crafts, but without realizing it, I was doing the same trick. It's good to be able to share like this. I'm happy that everyone's skills have improved and everyone can enjoy crafting.

The issue is : when you face such a headache, it's a hint you should use another tool for the work you have to do. The jigsaw is probably the most misused of all eloctroportative tools.
I've never met anyone that has used a jigsaw that didn't know this lol
What a wonderful idea to break your saw. If the saw was intended to work this way the producer would have installed a second support roll on the other side of the blade 🤦 You may use a small router instead.
Wow, some really goodtips there I was not aware of!
Te felicito y gracias
Soluciones muy acertadas
Vielen Dank für deine Arbeit! 👏
The old craftsman saws allowed you to just rotate the blade 90 degrees in any direction by turning a knob on top of the saw.
I still have my 50 y/o Craftsman jig saw with rotating head.. I recently replaced the blade shaft bushing that needed replacing 40 years ago..lol..they really don't make Craftsman type tools anymore..
I have an old Craftsman from the 1970s (at least) with this feature. I inherited if from my grandfather who was an avid woodworker. It's an incredibly useful tool.
I had one of those old Craftsman’s in the red plastic case for 50+ years. I gave it to my Son-in-Law when I replaced it with a 20v cordless DeWalt.
The only thing that was new to me in the video was the extra long blade. I have not seen one of those. It looked more like a blade for a reciprocating saw.
Great video! Nice ideas for mine upcoming projects. Thanks for the tips!
This tricks is what years of experience brings..
This is so obvious, yet I never thought of it. Brilliant.

Very useful🎉Thank you
Thank you so much.

The tape trick is also usefull when drilling holes on wood. With the tape placed where the drill comes out. Good presentation!
Pretty much every situation where something small could cause tearout. And saves you the hassle of mounting a wasteboard piece.

Excellent tip.
I know a couple of these but the one with the clamp and ruler is a great idea I wish I'd known of years ago
Great! I learned a lot in a few minutes
Excellent demonstration. For cutting Kitchen Laminated Worktop, which jigsaw blade I should use? Should i use Bosch 128BHM? OR T101BR? OR, T308B T308BO T308BF T308BR? Which one is the best for Laminate Kitchen Worktop cutting without Chipping?
Informative. I like tips and stuff for using my tools.
Fantastic anti-tear out tricks.
Tremendos trucos socio....👌
Sound examples of cutting techniques. Thanks.
Well, wello, well, you learn something new every day
I hate being told in a title that I don’t know stuff, that I do know, by a guy who doesn’t know me….and in any case, these methods are commonly known in many YT vids. I still watched it…so he got his click.

These are fantastic tips. I wish I had known them earlier in my DIY career.
Brilliant, good to know

What phone app do you use to find the angles?
Great video, thanks...

very beautiful video. how big is the angle and where can you order it?
Thanks.
Thanks for the video
Good work 👏👏👏
Even aged 82, you can learn new things. Good tips, Thanks.
Nice tutorial for the young new carpenters .
Fantastic.👍
Magnifique !!! 😉👍
Good job...keep smile at work 🙋
No hidden features but one really bad idea. Really confused about how using a square, is a jigsaw hidden feature. Other than number 1, this video has some good tips for newer power tool users.
Arrrr, the old ‘turn a jigsaw into a dangerous weapon’ trick!
Amazing my friend 🎉🎉❤
gut zu wissen,,,danke
Nunca tinha pensado nisso obrigado
All good to know thanks for uploading
Great idea.
My hack for a Jig Saw ... if you live in snowy regions and grow food in a greenhouse. Screw a few cheap jig saws via their base plates to the structural frames of the greenhouse.. Tape the switches on and wire the jig saws into a common power circuit with a common on/off switch. When the snow builds up on the greenhouse then simply turn on the jig saws and let their vibration bring the snow to the ground.
Probably one of the best uses of jigsaws.
@@jmc8583 Especially of cheap jigsaws.
very, very good, I loved it.
I have an old Skil jigsaw that has a knob on top, allowing you to fully rotate the cutting head.
Love “The Finger of Admonition.” Great stuff!
It was a thin piece of plexiglass with a slice cut in the Middle where the blade to go up and down which in turn made it a zero clearance for the blade
OH MY GOD !!!! OH MY GOOOOD!!! he uses a ruler, divine genius!!! God bless you!!!!
Useful and entertaining!
I really like your set square / clamp / triangle / cutting guide. Where did you find it?
It's called a speed square, you can get them from most builder's merchant's wood yards etc
