    • If you’re a doctor, unless you’re a general practitioner in a very small and old fashioned practice, you won’t be drawing blood. You will learn how in rotations, of course, but that’s best left to phlebotomists!

  • I have seen this video countless times, but I can FINALLY relate to the fact that Becca can’t watch reality TV shows. I was reading a book that involved the main character doing an audition on a musical instrument. I felt myself shaking as if I was the one outside the door waiting to go in, and all I thought in that moment was, “Wow. I totally know what Rebecca means now. This sucks.”

  • Singing makes sense to me completely. Whenever I have a test, I hum because it keeps me calm. It's like my brain can't relate something nice and creative with stress and fear, so... I once had a latin test and I was humming to myself. An infuriated classmate turned and yelled "shhh! who's singing?". She didn't notice it was me but I had a good chuckle out of it.

    • There was once a TV interruption by a guy who worked as a guard for Area 51. Something about inter dimensional aliens and lowering the world's population to handle it.   • I know what you mean Rebecca I had I similar experience: Last week me and my mom went to the doctor to see if there was any lead/lead dust in my blood but before all that I had the standard procedure: Checking my blood pressure, my heartbeat stuff like that; now when it was time for my blood to be drawn I panicked and overreacted but I calmed down enough for my blood to be drawn. They had to prick my finger and use some sort of straw to get the blood and I was I little bit nervous so I decided to sing but I didn't really sing I just said lalalalala really fast and really loud to distract myself while getting pricked and I yelled and rushed the doctor to get it over with, now mind you the doctor was nice and was fine with me rushing her but anyway when she was finished she gave me a band aid and I cried A LOT and then hugged my mom tight. So that's my story

    • The only dog i have right now (i had 7 other dogsbefore they all passed away) and they were all mongol bankhars so they were mostly wild but they still played and had emotions like humans ive seen him cry when dad left and he needed good pet and i gave it to him and he was happy and when a stranger comes he would bark so loud that we would hear him waaaay back of our fence (we have a GINORMOUS place that the shamans got us) when i got it i would need a CAR and do a 5 minute drive to get from one side to another but we had 2 cats and we all loved them more one of em could swim if you didnt know that depends on the type of cat some can swim some can not and the 1 we have now cant swim but he stays outside for 5 days at least when he stays outside and we would be worried that he disnt have food or water but he is a survival guide book he catches bords mice and another faster animal that lookes like a squirrel but not quite (idk how to say it in english) and he drinks from the pure river thats in our fence that we protect and we grow seabuckthorns because the place we stay is known for growing them and in the winter we drink em and its DELICIOUS ok i forgot this was a comment in sorry its so long and im sorry if my english sucks im a mongolian 12 year old

  • As a kid, in order to not feel the pain of the shot from the doctor, my parents used to ask me to recite infront of them a poem I learned at school. Usually it was the « Le Corbeau et le Renard » from La Fontaine, because this was the main poem we were learning in elementary school in my country. Now, because of that, I still remember this poem entirely and I still recite it everytime I have to get a shot.

  • 0:38 Fun fact: This isn't necessarily *just* a fear reaction. There's actually a physiological mechanism where the body can react to skin punctures by fainting. I've had it happen exactly once, got really lightheaded a few minutes after a shot. Though in this case, the fact that you can prevent it by singing suggests that it may be fear, I don't think the physiological reaction can be distracted like that.

  • Whenever i feel terrified of the dark after watching something horror, i sing to myself too! It distracts me and makes me feel like if something wanted to jump me, it wouldnt because it would've seen or heard me singing... and think 'hey you know what? I changed my mind'. Sounds stupid, but it works haha!

  • I have the exact same fear when it comes to needles and having the feeling of fainting. If I have to have a shot or my blood drawn, I have to have someone either talk to me to distract me or look at something around the room to help distract me. It is such a dumb fear I have had ever since I was a kid and still have now 😂😂😂

  • I've got one similar to the airplane thing. When I was a child my mom used to have her friend from Georgia visit, and this friend would sometimes bring her kids along. Her kids were about the same age as my sister and I, so we were cool with having someone to hang out with. One day, as we were all in the car driving to some place I don't remember, the girl my age points to something out the window and shouts, "Here comes the cemetery! Don't breathe or else the ghosts will get into your body and steal your soul!" Obviously I knew she was joking, but I played along anyway. For as long as she was over, every time we passed by a cemetery we would give each other knowing glances and then hold our breath for as long as we could until we had passed the cemetery. We would absolutely refuse to breathe until the last headstone was behind the car... Even well beyond the point where we were starting to get uncomfortable. You would think that after all these years, especially given the fact that I haven't talked to her in so long, I would have stopped by now but no. So yes, as an adult, every time I see a cemetery approaching while in a vehicle of some kind, I have to persuade myself to KEEP BREATHING. edit: Oh yeah! I forgot to mention that this includes pictures of cemeteries and graveyards, too! Even just pictures of headstones in the ground.

    • Sometimes, when I was sure I was about to pass out, I would duck into my collar and take a quick breath from inside of my shirt. That, or I would turn away from the direction of the cemetery and take a breath just big enough to sustain me until we reached the edge of the cemetery. I always tried to do this inconspicuously, as I knew my parents would be like ???? if they caught onto the fact that I wasn't breathing properly. Keep in mind that I would do this even as a teenager while sitting in the front passenger seat of the car. Either I'm a ninja master or my parents were too polite to say anything. They know now, though, that I used to do this. I joke about it often, but the urge to not breathe still comes to me every time I see a cemetery.
