Definitely want heated seats. I always try to upgrade every time I change cars. A reversing camera would be an upgrade for me !!

Hi Tish,, This is for me, a GREAT car from Lexus and great to hear they have produced colours that are more up to date, excellent. An excellent video as is your standard Tish, thank you. You mention that Lexus are aiming this at the younger sector, whilst I cannot claim to be one anymore this car would suit me to a T, great looks, fabulous interior etc. There is one point re pricing, I noticed the starting price from just under £30k, however, for the upgraded models and with Politicians consistently persecuting the motorist, ie the added 5 year tax on cars costing £40k and more, I would hope that Lexus have pitched this car under that threshold for the top model. Thanks again for your superb presentations to us all. Paul

I was going to ask about the lower screen and you beat me to it. It’s fine if just radio and aircon but when navigating I can’t stand the “head bob” Merc I think were one of the first with two high screens but they too have gone this route which I think is as big a mistake as removing real buttons. Reliability, reliability, and reliability come standard with all Lexus products 👶 Yes, I know, people only used to AUDI, BMW, and Mercedes believe it is normal that their cars break down once in a while, the gearbox is destroyed when the warranty ends, not to mention that famous VW-Group 2.0 engine block that ever so often cracks up and splits in two 🤣🤣🤣
I agree. Very smart inside and out. It looks very well executed which is what I'd expect. I would definitely consider this. I know from experience that the Toyota hybrid tech is very effective and very efficient in the real world. One small thing though, I'm not sure how these quite large wheels and low profile tyres would stack up on rubbish roads. Would rather have smaller wheels and high profile tyres.
Hopefully we can start speccing them online soon because there is some really cool combinations. Especially brown leather, I love brown leather!
It's a very nice car certainly would not have it in the yellow/orange colour I agree with you the copper is the nicest, weather you can justify the extra say 5000 for the Lexus against the Toyota I am not sure for basically a city car .Have a fabulous Christmas and New year and keep up all your brilliant reviews 😊
Does the top of the range come with Mark Levinson hifi? To me it looks similar to all small hatchbacks but with a premium interior although Mazda also do premium interior with more power.
I have a Yaris cross, it handles well and isn’t as noisy as people make out, the Lbx 9:17 does look nice though, afaik it doesn’t come with a split boot floor so there’s a high lip to lift stuff over
We traded our BMW X3 for a Lexus NX450H+ in March and we love it. Rarely need to add petrol. We have ordered an LBX in red with a black roof with the highest specification and that includes 4WD. The car is just to go to the supermarket and short journeys around town (Sunshine Coast of Queensland). We have been told to expect about 4l/100km and that is fine for the small annual travel as a second car. A really nice advantage of having 2 Lexus is that the turn indicators are on the same side and all the instrumentation is the same. This allows us to ditch our little Citroen C3 2021 to the first of our 4 grandchildren.

@@ekimandersom4478 not sure what that means. We spend our money wisely, having earned it and reached 77 years old. If you are referring to giving the Citroen away -we want our grandchildren to have new cars that are up to date and safe compared with the cars we had at 17. The NX is a good size for highway driving but it is bigger than we like for town driving. I think it is good use of money.

Hi I'm at NSW and the agent does not disclose much on specs/pricing. Wonder how much have you been told on the top specs with 4WD? Congrats on your buy, the LBX is the perfect package for urban driving imo.
@@brandontr8946 I can tell you exactly. I received an email from Lexus Maroochydore yesterday with an updated contract. Staff are being trained on the car in Sydney this month so numbers are just coming available. I am looking forward to a test drive in the not too distant future although I don’t need convincing.. $63,743 including registration and stamp duty in QLD. Delivery is forecast for August but I will not be surprised if the delivery is delayed. The car is LBX Sports Luxury 1.5L Hybrid Auto CVT SUV (4714610 C0 FA21 2TB 001) Rich Ruby Two−Tone. Upholstery is Black/Dark Gray Suede (Comb).

I’m six foot tall and sat in this car at the dealership yesterday: it’s the first time I’ve been in a 4 seat car that I’ve ever had to have the seat in it’s furthest back position to get comfortable in. I only have 31 inch legs. There was almost no legroom left in the back. I liked the look of until that point as it’s not really practical enough for 4 normal sized adults.
Kind of funny that a 6 foot tall person would be looking at a car like this. 😂

@@artieartya I'm 6 foot and my first car was a Fiat Seicento, it had plenty of space in the front, even slept in the thing once. Don't see what the problem is, you don't need a giant car to move around, you just need one that's designed well.
Hello there. Which bi tone color combination do you think goes better with the LBX? Sitting on the fence between sonic white (pearl) with black roof or the sonic copper with the black roof. What do you think? This is highly appreciated. Btw your review was excellent!
That’s a very difficult decision, as I think the car with White 🚘 bodywork looks very similar to the GR Yaris, which in my opinion is a good thing! However, I absolutely love sonic copper and think it stands out from anything else on the road. Very tough choice and sorry for not being able to make a decision.

I much prefer it to the CH-R, and it’s a good car overall. But I’m but sure about that fake leather, maybe a nice cloth would actually be more premium by now, something like the Audi e-tron GT or Renault Scenic has.
Such a shame I couldn’t cover everything but there is SO many interior options; real leather, imitation leather in brown, black and cream, Alcantara and I also I believe a cloth on the entry models
Without the 2litre engine I’m not rushing out to buy one.

Because the hand-break & the gears-shifter are just buttons nowadays ... the entire central console should be eliminated. More volume for air + more space for legs.
It almost looks perfect for me mostly lone driving around town, to and back from work etc..The only things are: It looks a bit too low as compared to other SUV; it didn't look sporty enough to attract a young trendy executive like me and the colour scheme is just normal like most others. I like Lexus brand very much and I will wait for the next design.

How about the UX?
I like it, gotta see if I actually fit in it, since the Yaris Cross felt too cramped for me, and I'm not even that large at 1.80m and 75kg.
They're a very similar size. I will get my dad to test it when I have one on loan soon.
@@AutoSocialUK I went for a test drive yesterday, it's better than the Yaris Cross but I still couldn't get fully comfortable. Wasn't cramped, just that the adjustments didn't really cover how I sit. Either I couldn't see the dash because of the steering wheel, or my left elbow would be at an awkward position. Got into a UX and it was almost instantly perfect. But the UX is a bit pricier and has somewhat poor practicality imo(small backseats and trunk, poor visibility outside - really bad for motion sickness, especially in a car that rides so smooth) I feel bad because I like how it drives, but I'm not sure the price is worth the compromises.

If you don't mind the very claustrophobic rear seats, the CHR would be my pick. I can't get a CHR because everyone in my family is car sick, so they need big windows in the back. But in the front is feels very spacious and comfortable for a car of its size.
What about the boot space? Why is this always missed? I have a 250h UX which I love but the boot space is appallingly bad. Is this any better?
Amusingly this has like 10L more than the UX, in the FWD versions.
This is the first time I watch cars review on this KZhead channel. I’m quite excited to view more reviews. But I must admit she impressed me the way she reviewed this Lexus and that’s the best ever review I have watched. In terms of colors I’d definitely pick Payne’s Grey.

It really is a great car for its segment, and will sell quite well i think. It is not much more expensive than the Yaris Cross, yet it is more refined, it is FASTER, and more luxurious. I would definitely buy it if i was in the market for one. Living inside a city and not having children means that this car is perfect. No need to choose between huge premium behemoths or small cheapish cars. I am surpsised more Premium manufacturers do not offer similar cars, there is only Audi A1 all street that is going to retire, and then, what, a Mini? That's about it.
That noise will be the cvt gearbox,I take it.
The Best colour is coper sonic and it is nice that I can afford on lexus.
I would want to see a comparison with the new Yaris Cross. I don't see any significant practical improvement to justifiy the price. But then ofc you pay for the brand also..
I'm curious if the extra noise dampening makes it a good highway commuter, since the Yaris is not known for being a quiet car. If you only need to commute by yourself or 1 extra person, this segment makes a lot of sense. And german brands charge you more by the time you option out everyhing that's base on the Lexus.

For me definitely the Lexus. Far more practical rear space, the interiors can also be super customisable which is rare for crossovers in the this class…. Lastly yes I’m a brand snob and having the Lexus badge does give it plus points for me.

Got the Yaris Cross, disagree with your assessment of it.
In my opinion, a real Lexus is.... not the LBX😂 It's actually the RX 500h F Sport. 366bhp is hard to beat! Right off the bat: the colour. Lexus is legendary for its exterior design, and they always manage to pick the right colors to go with it, like this Carmine Red, or some places calls it Ruby Red. Now ma'am, do NOT be hating on the Yaris Cross😂 that lil bugger is selling like hot cakes in Trinidad, and it's beating the Nissan Kicks BADLY! This car is more or less the same thing, but with luxury of course, so Toyota is kinda competing against themselves here. Will this LBX be the new King of subcompact SUVs, or will the Yaris Cross continue to rule? Great review, Tish.
Personally I would go for this one, but majority would probably buy a german car in this price range.
Car for me. Quiet, moderately priced, good quality, not claustrophobic like CHR, cheap to run.
It’s a TOTALLY different car to the Yaris, they’re related yes, but nothing alike when it comes to ride, exterior / interior design comfort, features … etc

@nfsdanz.The hatch refers to the 5th door on how the boot opens ie a hatch as apposed to a boot. Crossover is the shape of the car ie between a hatch and an SUV.

No. Kamiq or Karoq is still the best for longer drivers of you're tall. With 1,85mtr I hardly fit in it, my Dutch husband with 1,97mtr couldn't even get in.

The LBX is the first Lexus model to be manufactured at the Iwate plant in eastern Japan, a facility that has benefited from Toyota Motor Corporation investment to help regenerate a region that suffered devastation from the Tohoku Earthquake and Tsunami of 2011. Production will begin within this year; deliveries to customers in Europe will begin in early 2024.

Corolla Cross Hybrid AWD sells for about the same price, has better performance, more room and drives better than Lexus LBX. The quality and reliability of Toyota and Lexus is similar. I dont see a lot of reasons to buy Lexus LBX.
A very fair point. I guess is the Corolla Cross... 'cool'? We all know the average buyer (especially of a small SUV) doesn't care about anything else

It has better implementation of the front grill. Their and Toyota's grills have become so jarring. This more subtle de-jarrificaiton is better.

The Alfa Tonale is a bigger more expensive SUV than this so not comparable. This a B segment product.

Umm.., Lexus making the engine a lot better compared to Yaris Cross is Toyota speak for ‘we’ve given it more power and to keep fuel economy decent the EV battery is bigger so it can run in EV longer’. If they really wanted to do this well they would have dropped in the 1.8 hybrid drive train. It’s still a Yaris Cross underneath. All the marketing smoke over cross platform use fools very few customers anymore. They should just show the build quality step up from the Yaris Cross to sell this car.., job done!
Perhaps it is not possible to fit the 1.8L inside it.... It is a Yaris, after all, and Yaris is not designed to have the 1.8L inside, or the 2.0L.

This looks more fun but the UX feels like a proper Lexus

For me the Lexus is about a little bit of luxury and you know it as a stand alone brand aimed a slightly different market. This is getting to close to Toyota territory and given the choice I’d rather spend my money on a higher end Toyota rather than an a entry level Lexus. Top presentation again , been with you from your early days and the standards you are achieving now are top class.

I know , but Lexus is very much it’s own identity as a luxury brand but shares a lot mechanically. My statement was I’d rather pay the same money for a better Toyota than an entry level Lexus just for the status of having the Lexus brand.
You are not paying just for the status. Didn't you watch the review? This car has many improvements over the Yaris. You pay for those improvements.

Yaris Cross is already over priced. And this rebadged Yaris Cross is hyper priced.
Its not a re- badged Yaris Cross at all. The hybrid drivetrain has been re-engineered with different battery tech, the platform modified with a longer wheelbase, different interior, body etc. It's also built by Lexus rather than rolling off the Toyota Yaris Cross production line.
