So like, it wasnt Groot that spoke a normal sentence, it was us understanding him =)

I think she liked Peter liking her and when she suggested Peter and Nebula should get together and they turned to each other and shared that brief look it might have made Gamora think Peter and Nebula might actually have something which made her worry a little and think...hey! no! he likes me not you!.. something just enough to spark something inside her. Her like Nebula had it hard and never experienced what it was to be truly loved and wanted so that little spark could be enough to set her off to find Peter and just see what the other version of herself seen.

Teeth had wheels for legs, lyla had mechanical arms, rocket just has some mechanical attachment on his body and then you see the bunny not having any limbs or any that work and having her mouth covered, probably means couldnt eat too, or disfigurement to the face. • I loved the way that Mantis fought the guards at Orgocorps. Especially when she told one of them he was a kitty cat. It was great seeing Starhawk and his crew with the Ravagers, good luck to Gamora hanging out with them. Loved how Cosmo was so mad at Kraglin for calling her a bad dog. When she ended up saving him, she was his good dog. Rocket and all of the baby racoons climbing on to him and Rocket finally seeing the board acknowledging that he is actually a racoon. I do think one of my favorite scenes was with all of the them doing the power walk all together getting ready to fight. I'm super happy that no one actually died.

  • My favourite moment in the movie is when Rocket says. "I'm Rocket Raccoon". It's a very small moment, but it shows how he completely accepts himself as he is, where he came from, and that he is in control of what he does deciding what in his eyes is right or wrong. It also is the moment that he takes up the mantle of command by telling his friends that they are not going to leave the animals behind.

    • @@frankd9945 You have to watch Avengers 1 with a time capsule mindset. That movie was mind blowing in all that it accomplished, was rather well made, but has since dulled due to 10 years of streaming service movies, tv shows, dc movies, marvel movies etc being shoved down our throat. It doesn’t diminish what it accomplished though. I recommend a rewatch if you haven’t seen it in a while. The old MCU’s tone was so much better than this phase 4 crap. GotG 3 is a brief revisit to that era as the movie was suppose to come out years ago but Gunn was fired hence delaying it-and GotG were always the “loud, goofy, colorful” movies. Now it’s the norm… Thor, Antman. I think the MCU’s going to dip into irrelevancy for a while as DC finally gets a chance to shine under Gunn’s vision. Unless this writer’s strike destroys it anyway. Lol. X Men and FF can bring the MCU into a new era if they really slam dunk them.

  • I think you missed the part where Groot said I love you guys but he still said it with “I Am Groot” but they made it look like we are part of them now that’s why we understand him now too. When he said it, the other Guardians didn’t react like shocked that he can speak but for them, they can hear him say full sentences with just “I am Groot” sentence and now, we can too.

  • This was the best Guardians film so far and I'd argue one of the top 5 Marvel movies I've seen. Guardians is so different and unique. They are like a bunch of loners who have come together to form a family. It's not like Avengers who meet up for business. This movie genuinely made me cry not just once but a couple of times. I hope the original team will come back together in the future.

    • Guardians as a family. Hmmm. Nebula and Gamora are sisters who grunt goodbye to each other. Mantis is Quill's sister and walks off with CGI teeth blobs. Rocket and Groot were a pair to start and at the end. Drax seemed to be there hanging around due to not having anywhere else to go. Gunn's brother saved Knowhere by killing six bad guys and got an A+ in Screenwriting 101 by paying off the Good dog Cosmo arc.

  • can't believe we finally got a good marvel movie. Great Job james gunn. I cried at rocket's story, and his relationship with layla and the other animals. I believe this was a plot point in the telltale guardians game. So I felt more when layla died. Really pulled at the heart strings. Also loved the creep song and the opening montage, really great long shot. Which feels like the theme song, I mean I understand from the third film why he is the secret protagonist, once I finish the film, why gunn chose the song. Wow just awesome origin story for rocket, I really felt for him when he faced off with his nemesis, the high evolutionary.

  • The moment in the movie that really got me emotionally was when Starlord and Gamorra said I bet we were a lot of fun. Losing the love of my life, that moment hit me hard especially at an already emotionally amped up moment in the movie. My favorite fight sequence was Groot going 10 Guns blazing on everyone. I’d seen it in the trailers but it still was bad a$$ in the movie.

  • This movie was everything for me that one can expect from a top-tier MCU movie, brings a lot of emotions and grief along with beautiful scenes. Rocket's backstory was one of the most brilliantly crafted stories that MCU could do. The Guardians go off with a blast! I'm definitely gonna miss this amazing gang of misfits Charlie. My favorite scene was the near-death experience of Rocket in the flashback it broke a bunch of tears.

  • I took Groot saying “I love you guys,” as a way for James Gunn to let us know that the fans are now part of the Guardians family because we can understand what Groot is saying. Sort of like when Gamora finally understood Groot at the end of the movie she became part of the family as well. That’s more meaningful to me and a genius move on Gunn’s part to give love to the audience. ❤

  • My favorite scene was the last one with the old team. I have a different take on one of Groot's powers, though. I think understanding Groot's speech is an effect of being in close quarters with him over time. Evergreen trees (which Groot resembles) reproduce through seeds in their conifers. Could there be some sort of reproduction process that's expressed as an organic translator? This way, when Groot says: "I love you guys" it becomes more like breaking the fourth wall to us, the audience. We've also spent this time in close quarters with Groot over the course of the trilogy, so we've acquired this ability of understanding what he says while Gamora still hears "I am Groot"!

This was set up just a few scenes earlier when Gamora suddenly understood him due to her growing familiarity with him. To me that's a more beautiful reveal than him having had the capacity for other spoken words this whole time.

  • Literally on my couch from the theater seeing this and it was great from a character development standpoint. Can’t remember the last time i cried in a movie and this made me tear up twice. Picking names and then Rocket dying. Great moment giving Dax a second layer of a nurturer and it was simply elite storytelling making it seem like that was his real purpose, instead of being a destroyer with no depth. They really didn’t drive home how rock bottom Quill actually got but they definitely tried with the Drax comment of “he’s drunk again?” Nebula’s character development went full circle as well. I understand them not trying to force a rekindled love story with Gamora and Quill because i assume it’s happening in the next Spiderman installment with Peter and MJ. Action scenes were all superb. Mantis getting new purpose was great. Mantis professing her respect of Drax was once again great storytelling. The whole Movie was just miles ahead of Love and Thunder and Ant Man.

  • Just saw it yesterday, and hot damn the hallway scene and how they were able to show a bit of something for each character: Drax the Father (instead of searching for revenge on a lost child, he becomes that father to many), Mantis the ever seeing good of each person as she says don't only look at intelligence and looks but how that person makes you feel, Star Lord getting over the lily pad and starting to swim, Nebula crying her friend Rocket is alive, and wanting to be the mom for all the children, Adam Warlock growing as Groot saves him and then Drax translating that everyone deserves a second chance, Gamora, realizing that having a family and fitting in is what its all about, and of course Rocket despite the horrors he has been through. I'm a Guardian as he forgave someone who tortured the hell out of him Kraglin finally controls the Yaka Arrow, and Cosmo gets called a good dog. Even Flor, Lily, and Teeth innocents shines through as they all are flying through the skies.
