Widebody Mazda RX-7 1/24 Scale RC Model Car Custom Build

I took Revell's highly detailed RX-7 model kit and mounted it on top of a Make It RC FP UC1 chassis. The result, a sick little RC car that was lots of fun to build and even more fun to drive! This build pairs great scale looks with a very simple chassis that contains many easy to 3D print parts. In this video, I've showcased the entire build process from start to finish. In addition to this video, I also decided to document this build on the Scale Builders Guild forums. You can find that build thread here: scalebuildersguild.com/forum/... There is a ton of great content on the forums and I highly recommend checking them out. I also really enjoy the SBG KZhead channel as well and I think many of you who aren't viewers already will really enjoy the content: / 8imthatguy8
Maker Tier Patrons can download all FP-UC1 STL files here: / introducing-fp-22907598 Be on the lookout for some updates to this chassis coming soon.

    • Cheapness and availability is what makes them popular, for a while people used to use the Ford Modular V-8 since it was the cheaper option but with all the models Chevy made that has the LS motor in it made it the most viable swap

      @lillythepone2994@lillythepone29943 жыл бұрын
    • @@lillythepone2994 Yeah, from my experiences working with the older hot rodders they used not so much the Modular (which is an OHC engine that came out in the 90s) but the Flathead V8 because much like the LS they were cheap and plentiful. Once the Small Block Chevy came around in 1955 the Flathead was all but replaced

  • Hey this is a really cool build! I've got a tip for you from an old school drifter turned RC enthusiast. When your doing a scale drift build run the hardest compound (plastic) on the back and a softer compound (rubber) up front. That's a trick we used on IRL underpowered cars, like 100hp RX7s for example! 🤣 It increases oversteer but keeps the front grippy to prevent snap understeer which makes you slide out of the turn 👍

      @lillythepone2994@lillythepone29943 жыл бұрын
    • Exactly we do same thing to tune the oversteer and under steer in a asphalt oval track outlaw latemodel I race. But get mechanical grip from weight and adjusting the adjustable coil overs on it while on scales and getting cross and rear bite and corner weights set we will add more mechanical grip to front and less tornear of the car is pushing. But with rc I would get some high traction front tires and some slick rears with less traction. I figured the hard plastic tires you printed would slide easily but guess not lol nice build

  • 1:17:07 are xmod series 1 cars. These can have custom mods or factory made mods including lights /body kits/alloy wheels/gearing inc 4wheel drive kits and steering chassis mods and also can be extend or shorten with different shafts chassis as all the chassis was universal the ones shown have no mods at all and are box standard. Series 2 had introduced 4x4 mods and a different chassis from the series 1 but still had a universal chassis that also fit (with mods) the series 1 shells. They where great fun and easily maintained but very detailed cars.
