  • Not sure if this is still the case since I haven't played with v66 yet, but double walls do a lot to reduce the range noise travels from a building. So when I find myself needing to put, say, a carpenter in the middle of a bunch of houses, I'll go ahead and build another wall all around the carpenter building to limit the noise range. It costs more resources but it should help keep your people happy.

    • Thanks for the tip, never thought of it. I also think that buildings made of rock cut down noise.

  • The Laboratory does still require a population unlock. You clicked through it when it appeared (about the 5:25 mark) when you got up to 25 citizens. Also, thanks for this series. It's making me reevaluate a number of my assumptions about some of the mechanics.

  • You left the starting grain to spoil in the throne room. For me, I start off using all of the grain at the start to get the first grain farm going. I spend the first grain harvest on building another, larger grain farm while at the same time getting a bakery up and running by the end of year 2. At that point you have more than enough capacity for making bread and I just control the amount of workers in the bakery to avoid over producing bread and let my grain stockpile grow. After that I'll be able to feed the workforce needed for woodcutters and furniture.

    • Yeah, that's an alternative way to go. But I feel like you won't have the workforce open to do both a pasture AND the grain farming thing at the same time. I personally felt like Pasture food + Fishery + Hunter is way easier to get into if you are new to the game. Baking, Farming and all those come later in the series, cause I see these process chains a bit more complex. Nothing wrong with starting out on the grain train though!

  • Really appreciate these tutorials. Now I can have somewhat of an idea of what to do during the early stages. Been on a binge for a week so far lmao. 😅

  • My city building sin is building industrial-level production facilities for 5 people.

    • Well via re-furnishing you can always add in more workbenches when needed!

  • Do you think you could do city reviews? Cause I'm clueless as to what else I could be doing with my lizardmen city as I can keep the happiness up to get new workers and so im slowly hemorrhaging a wipe out cause I can't figure out how to course correct
