Hands down the most important thing you could learn about surf fishing is how to read a beach.
Knowing what different wave actions and water movements mean is the difference between you finding fish and getting skunked.
Fish need structure to eat and survive.
And since you can't use a fish finder on the beach, YOU are the fish finder!
So in this video, you'll learn:
- How to find structure standing on a beach
- What areas to look for at lower tides
- Why structure is important to finding fish
- And more!
Do you have more tips for reading the beach?
Let me know if you have questions or feedback in the comments on our Fishing Tips page: bit.ly/3fNCB39

  • I'm thoroughly impressed. That was the most comprehensive surf fishing video I've come across on KZhead. That was like taking a paid course on how to surf fish. Excellent work.

  • Good video. Here in La we like to wade out to the first bar and fish the trough on both sides. I like to find a break in the bar and fish the back side. Trout will lay up in the slack water and ambush bait coming through. We use jigs with soft plastic. Topwater early can be awesome.
