Let’s go!!!! Thanks again for letting me use your set up. I loved it!! Was a grind but super fun. 🔥
You and Cody are a great team man! You guys balance each other out so well. You wanna kill it so bad and he’s happy just being out there. 😆
Those are some great looking lures! Really awesome features on the shimano. It blows my mind every time that a surf perch will actually eat those things. Awesome vid man!
haha right! I bet you'd be surprised by some of them east coast species! You should look into the big Nomad Shikari 145 for the striper. they're 5.5" and weigh 1oz
👏👏👏 Too bad it was a slow day. Beautiful video Ed, with the drone shots and the moon shots. Can’t wait to get back out there when water clears up. Got the perch bug now. 👍🎣
Next time!
that nomad plug looks dope
i fished couple days ago in the surf was slow and just dinks here in san diego .. fished after the storm was not ideal but no skunk used grubs and paddle swim baits and fly rod...surf fishing never gets old so worth waking up early at times to go get the hot bites ..when mood and tides are right i like going 4/5am in the surf and done in like 3 hours ... love the vids
Thanks a lot! Definitely rewarding and amazing environment just to spend time overall
@@Hook2Cook not rewarding when you lose a 20+$ lure tho i been there many times i like using fly lures and swimbaits made from people thats into the hobby of fishing. i like to support them its more rewarding feeling catching fish on lure you make and others that loves to make them ... wish this crazy rains of and on goes away so can have nice warm weather again for surf fishing and swimming..
Love your channel. Great works. What app do you recommend for checking wave power? Thanks.
It’s not an app but a website surf-forecast.com
Seen a demo on the 115 Nomad Shikari /Color Aqua ghost where the angler was working the lure with loads of twitches. He mentioned the lure has a special balance that does erratic twitches without fouling the line on the hooks. Also quite a buzz going about the 145 size Shikari for stripers
Whoa! Just saw the 145!!! Thanks for the heads up! 1 oz can be deadly!
Cool vid bro! I ordered and received my first Battlestar. I thought I ordered the one you use on the channel but it was different. I got the"Cherry Glow" and I will use it but I need to know which is the one you have. Just waiting for the surf to clear up from the storms and I'm gonna kill it! 👍🏽
bet you will brother. come fish with us if you're in the area. for real
I seriously can't afford lures at the moment. But I'm catching bigger fish these days on sand fleas and dialing in my rigs/gear. It would be great to have a collection of lures tho!☝️🇺🇲
Thats what i use for perch fishing❤️
@@CivicSi09 please peep my vlog!☝️🇺🇲
Right on
Ebay has lots of cheap lures single or in a " lot" . I have bought lures in a lot pulled out the nomads, Shimanos and lucky craft minnows, re-sold the rest of the lures and got my money back!
I've heard of people just using random crankbait they find at the pond for fishing in the ocean. I do wonder, when you have time do a video of the drawback of using fresh water cranks in ocean. I know the weight of the lure is an issue for casting distance, but curious how you will deal with these types of issue in a salt water environment.
If I can throw in a recommendation lure… Rapala X-Rap 12 saltwater… Pick your favorite color
The only problem with that 115 shikari is made for fresh water and trebles are bkk 1x tho. Wish they have the saltwater version for 115 size
I'd put a 1/4 Shad White or chovy HUB up against those Baits any day. Just saying. Great job as always brother
Thanks for voting. you think 2 on a donkey rig would work?
Single or double. If I was to double I'd do double 1/16 or 1/8
what reel?
I tried one of the Yo-zuri 3DS minnows (it was on sale at Dick's) a couple of times, but never got a bite on it.
I caught a 24” striper on the anchovy color on Monday and heard someone caught a perch on a 4” ZMan pearl white (same day) those are the only 2 baits I throw and have been killing it for striper, haven’t caught any perch over 12” this year but they are big the last couple months, I use a 3” zman if the jerk bait bite isn’t on!!
Battlestar huh?
What app/website do you use to look at the tide?
apps.apple.com/us/app/ocean-watch/id865207409
@@Hook2Cook thanks bro!
What’s the rod and reel set up?
10’7 okuma Hawaiian custom with a 4000 shimano nasci.
Does Perch fishing die off during the summer months in the central coast?
No it doesn’t. Best time I have experienced is August through October
So, full moon make aa different in term of catching fish and not catching?
it can for sure
@@Hook2Cook I thought it only impact on night fishing, especially if you're fishing for crappie, I did experience with that situation.
Bro whats the best tasting way too eat pearch for a noobie fish eater?
ceviche!
Bro you can’t be uploading videos while I am working. I don’t want to get fired lol 😂
Love it! Haha don’t be risking it all for some fishing videos!
I am itching to slam that First button, but I will settle back and watch the awesome video first!
Thanks Ed!
Nice new lures to run out and buy! Edward, you are constantly setting the high bar for new baits, lures and gear! I did find your comment about buying a $20 lure not something you do, I too like a good bargain! Keep up the great work!
Callcovers ?????
Nomad Design Lures are definitely not known to be cheap,… I do own quite a few of them, big ones small ones and lost a few as well.. ok.. a lot of them lol🤣… but all kidding aside… awesome lures, well made and mostly my first choice whether surf or the open ocean ..🤙😎👍
