  • Those are some great looking lures! Really awesome features on the shimano. It blows my mind every time that a surf perch will actually eat those things. Awesome vid man!

    • haha right! I bet you'd be surprised by some of them east coast species! You should look into the big Nomad Shikari 145 for the striper. they're 5.5" and weigh 1oz

  • 👏👏👏 Too bad it was a slow day. Beautiful video Ed, with the drone shots and the moon shots. Can’t wait to get back out there when water clears up. Got the perch bug now. 👍🎣

    • @@Hook2Cook not rewarding when you lose a 20+$ lure tho i been there many times i like using fly lures and swimbaits made from people thats into the hobby of fishing. i like to support them its more rewarding feeling catching fish on lure you make and others that loves to make them ... wish this crazy rains of and on goes away so can have nice warm weather again for surf fishing and swimming..

  • Seen a demo on the 115 Nomad Shikari /Color Aqua ghost where the angler was working the lure with loads of twitches. He mentioned the lure has a special balance that does erratic twitches without fouling the line on the hooks. Also quite a buzz going about the 145 size Shikari for stripers

  • Cool vid bro! I ordered and received my first Battlestar. I thought I ordered the one you use on the channel but it was different. I got the"Cherry Glow" and I will use it but I need to know which is the one you have. Just waiting for the surf to clear up from the storms and I'm gonna kill it! 👍🏽

  • Ebay has lots of cheap lures single or in a " lot" . I have bought lures in a lot pulled out the nomads, Shimanos and lucky craft minnows, re-sold the rest of the lures and got my money back!

  • I've heard of people just using random crankbait they find at the pond for fishing in the ocean. I do wonder, when you have time do a video of the drawback of using fresh water cranks in ocean. I know the weight of the lure is an issue for casting distance, but curious how you will deal with these types of issue in a salt water environment.

    • I caught a 24” striper on the anchovy color on Monday and heard someone caught a perch on a 4” ZMan pearl white (same day) those are the only 2 baits I throw and have been killing it for striper, haven’t caught any perch over 12” this year but they are big the last couple months, I use a 3” zman if the jerk bait bite isn’t on!!
