Japp is made by Marabou and Freya. In Sweden it’s made by Marabou and in Norway it’s made from Freya. Freya and Marabou are Business partners. The normal sized Choclate of Japp was discontinued after A different chocolate factory bought the recipe from Freya in 2020, I think it was in 2020

No reason to get annoyed to be honest, it is common nature to compare new things to things you already know as point of reference. It’s not a big deal being reminded of something. Like I am most definitely reminded of a mars bar when I have tried a Japp, and many other instances. You then use that point of reference to work out what you like more/less than the other so you can decide which one is better for you.
Saying that kvikk lunsj is like a KitKat is offensive for most Norwegian people lmao

Kind of funny how they try swedish and norweigian candy from Maarud which is also known as Estrella in sweden, and they try the Japp from Freia which equals Marabou in sweden. Also Ballerina is from a company called Göteborgskex which is the same as Saetre in norway.

The reason the tortilla chips is the most sold in Norway, is because we just LOVE taco, and we dip tortilla chips guacamole or sour cream when we have tacos. I’m not kidding when I say that most Norwegians have tacos nearly once a week. We are crazy for tacos 😂

If you haven’t heard it said before you might get a little confused but to say No English speakers is what we call hyperbole 😂🤗 And it’s easy once you know it’s, as you say, a bastardisation of quick lunch but the pronunciation is still different
Emil Kastellet and yeah as you say (I missed that bit in the OP) Kvikk is not the same pronunciation as Quick and vice Versa. Kvikk = kvick (like ‘kick’ with an added v like in villa) Quick = qwick (like a candle ‘wick’ with the q of queen before it)

Kit kat was invented 2 years before kvikk lunsj, but the kit kat wasn't sold in Skandinavia so Freia did not know about kit kat when kvikk lunsj was realesed. I learnt this at the Freia factory in Norway

You actually found a lot of the other "Freia" products in the Scandinavian countries because it's a Norwegian brand that broduces and or owns a lot of other Scandinavian sweets. They have slightly variable recepies - the Swedish is for example slightly sweeter ;)
