He had his arm over hooked and across his waist and then grabbed the shorts and pushed him off after he already hit him. He already had hit him 3 or 4 times before he even grabbed the shorts. It made no difference to his strikes. The leverage for that strike comes from over hooking the arm and then lunging his shoulder and jumping, not the shorts.

If you've watched Cerrone's fights, he is not the type to quit. He just got screwed up really quick and a domino effect happened. He was dwarfed by the moment but that wasn't the cause of him losing.   • Wild that Sean reached out and asked Alex to coach him and tighten up his game and now he’s champion. There was no doubt in my mind that Izzy could lose, but as the first round was coming to an end seeing Izzy get absolutely DROPPED was insane. We’ve hardly ever seen him hurt let alone get rocked and go down. Only times that come to mind was the TKO to Poatan and his fight against Kelvin where he got rocked a few times. Although a huge part is because he started fighting a lot safer. Regardless though, whether you like him or you hate him, you gotta respect an active champion. Plus before he even thought of moving up or down, he cleared his division. Now everybody wins the title, only has 1 or 2 defenses and wants to go for a second title

A few years ago, he was talking about a matchup between the Chargers and Chiefs, and he was saying how he was looking forward to seeing Spencer Ware play (out with a foot injury), talking about the incredible season Chargers TE Hunter Henry was having (has not played all year yet) and the matchup with Derrick Johnson (who was cut by the Chiefs earlier). The look on Tedy Bruschi's face was priceless.

  • Conor V Cerrone was exactly what the UFC intended for it to be, a squash match. Cowboy was shot by that point and was getting TKO’d in every other fight. He was one of the most chinnable fighters in the division at that point, nowhere near his prime, so the UFC fed him to Conor cause he still had name value and was very beatable. That fight meant nothing and proved nothing
