  • In my opinion, Fleury's shutout on his 500th win should've been in hat picks! (I know it was against Montreal, but it's still amazing 🤷)

  • I’m a blue jackets fan, and I truly appreciate everything Torts did with the franchise while he was here. But what he said about the Zegras goal is just plain stupid. Goals like that are great for the game, they’re a great way to attract more attention, and more fans. Torts and his whole tough man mentality is outdated, the game is now quicker and more skillful than ever before. Goals like that are just evidence of it, and what people want to see

    @hockeylvr42@hockeylvr422 жыл бұрын
    • I think the evidence of that is Sonny Milano. He's being encourage to be creative and have fun and he's tearing it up in Anaheim. When he was coached by torts you didn't get to see his creative side.

    • Torts argument wasn't whether or not it was good for spectators and fans. He was saying its bad for development of the game in terms of players. I think he is concerned with people focusing on flashy things and wanting to do a michigan rather than learning fundamentals and how to be a good player.

      @UBASLAY3R@UBASLAY3R2 жыл бұрын
    • @@UBASLAY3R I agree that's what Torts is saying. But he's just wrong. There has never been more skillful players in the league. The kids are very obviously not forgetting the fundamentals because the quality of the players has only gone up. Even Gretzky says the players have never been better so what the hell is Torts worried about?

  • Thanks for the Australian love but it's wrong Tommy Dunderdale was the first Australian in the NHL he played on the Victoria arestocrate's they also had Stanley Cup wins. And is the only Australian in the NHL hall of fame ....but I'm proud of my countrymen making it. Great work guys.

    • That's some deep history but you're right, Dunderdale was an Australian- Canadian, was born in Aussie in 1887 and moved to Canada with his family in 1894. & Victoria won the 1925 Stanley Cup while they were under the name "Victoria Cougars"

  • Agree with you completely Steve about the Zegras/Milano goal. You know who Zegras reminds me of? Pavel Datsyuk. Incredibly creative and didn't everyone appreciate it when he pulled off some amazing, never-before- seen play? Yes they did, and then hockey players went right out and copied him, to put in their bag of tricks. The Zegras/Milano goal will be hard to pull off again because everyone will expect it, and cover the guy in front but it will probably lead to something different that we've never seen before. Love it!

  • The Zegras-Milano goal at the end is 10000000% good for hockey. That takes a crazy amount of skill to pull off, as seen by their reactions. We should be encouraging the skill part of the game because that’s what makes hockey so special. You can’t do something like that in football or basketball. Only this glorious game

  • Hey I don’t know if everyone else knows this or whatever but here’s a quick fun story… I was actually at Nathan Walkers first NHL game. He played for the capitals and he scored his first career goal in the capitals home opener, it’s one of my coolest memories being at the game where the first Australian born player scored an NHL goal. And his family sat a few rows behind mine. Rly cool to watch him grow and hopefully he stays in big leagues in St. Louis. Wish Washington didn’t get rid of him.

  • I’ve shown the Zegras/Milano goal to everyone I know, almost all of whom don’t watch hockey. But all those people who never watch hockey thought it was absolutely bonkers and wanted to watch it again. There’s no way this is anything but awesome for the game. Also I don’t know if this is a hat pick exactly, but this clip of the synchronized swim team Oilers is mesmerizing kzhead.info/sun/ab6hnMiQZJ2qm3A/bejne.html

  • Slavin is the best defensive defensmen in the league!!!!!!!!! Aho is the most underrated player in the league. 3rd in points from the loaded 2015 draft! He has out scored McJesus in every game they have played against each other. Part of that is because of his defensive play!!!

  • 19:03 I'm gonna loosely quote the late, great hockey coach, Herb Thomas, "skating, passing, flow, and creativity. That's what this [game] is about." That goal from Milano and Zegras incorporated creativity into the game. If we want hockey to change, we need more and more players with that creativity. That play is one HELL of a Hat-Pick. Good lord.

  • Vasilevskiy kinda gives me Dominik Hasek vibes, in that they find ways to stop the puck that just kinda leave you speechless about how it was even POSSIBLE. I think the difference is that it never LOOKED like an accident with Hasek; you could tell that he meant to do every single thing he did. Vasilevsky's saves are so fluid with such economy of motion that you can convince yourself that it was just blind luck.
