    • he just calls it how it is. Aldo was a great champion... he reigned for a long time. but, as Conor said before the fight, Aldo was scared. Aldo's chin is deteriorating and his skill isn't on the same level. doesn't take away from his long streak.

  • Man I gotta give it up to this guy. This guy is SHARP as a sword. He dresses sharp, his mind is sharp, his game is on point all the time. Dude is CONSISTENTLY pulling headlines and making a name for himself and building up this fight. To get 10MIL at the gate - that's an incredible feat on to itself, especially when the other half barely wants to speak to the media. He CONSISTENTLY feeds the media quotes, and creates intrigue around himself. That's the fight game, it's not just how well you fight, it's how well you can promote yourself, it's how well you SELL PPV numbers, it's how well you handle the media when you're cutting weight, and exhausted, and you're still having to meet with the press and talk sharply and intelligently. That takes a trained individual, a measured individual, and a cool/calm/collected individual. I'm absolutely amazed not by his skills alone, but by how sharp his mind is, the way he handles his fame, his fans, and his media obligations is what makes him the best fighter in the company.

Conor in 2019 could be the best he's ever been or maybe he'll be a shadow of himself. His cardio and ground game has improved and with the experience he's acquired his fight IQ could be even better but it doesn't feel that way anymore sometimes. He got greedy after the Mayweather fight. I would've hoped he would've learned how to stay at the top as a rich man from Floyd. Maybe the loss gets his head back.

You can be the most precise striker with perfect timing and still fall prey to fast power, especially when you encounter someone with a granite chin who just wont go down and stay down. Nate is an example of this - personally I believe CM to be the better opening striker but once he gets worn down and hit a few times he's no longer quite as polished and it shows, ND + CM 2 showed this; as Conor wore down Nate kept going at the same pace, even picking it up when he smelled blood and whether people want to criticize his power or not, CM wasn't exactly trying to catch everything with his face.
