while I agree, I do (personally) see some good stuff (that was criminally underused) silver team was actually cool, and the armor was awesome! (I made Lego versions of riz and vannak) the fight scene in episode 5 of the first season was awesome! ....let's see....*season 2....* ahhh....the flood was alright... could've been better, but, the set up was eerie...hmmm... I really love the arbiter! he's awesome and terrifying! even his own subordinates seemed afraid of him (like when he went full Darth Vader) ....despite that, I think after season 3, the show needs a rewrite to fix those mistakes. like, the fallout TV show is made by someone who is actually obsessed with fallout! and if you look at the trailer, it actually has the true feel of fallout! THANK YOU for acknowledging Covie girl was a POW for THAT scene. I knew the show's writing was shit from the start, but that scene showed me that the writers might legitimately have brain damage. That whole scene was played off as being romantic, but that was a war crime through and through. It was especially stupid because they were operating under the assumption that she was an enemy agent, but they were treating her as a refugee. So, either Jimmy Rings sexually assaulted an enemy POW that was captive and couldn't offer consent, or he sexually assaulted a refugee who was detained-- someone which he was supposed to be guarding-- so she couldn't offer her consent. Either way they turned him into a rapist. Top-tier writing there. Also, they absolutely ruined Halsey as a character. In the show, she's clearly depicted as a self-serving villain that shows absolutely no remorse for what she did to the Spartans, and she continues to exploit them for her own ends. In the books, she admits that what she did is wrong, but she also claims that there was no other way. She truly believed that it had to happen to save mankind from itself, and so she judged that the ruination of the lives of 75 children was worth saving the lives of potentially billions of others. Was it wrong? Yes. Was it right to preserve mankind by sacrificing only a few children? Also yes. There's an argument to be made for both decisions, which is why it makes book Halsey a far more intriguing character than the show Halsey could ever be.

Just as a side note. The spartan silver team members actually exist in the original story, they were part of Spartan team omega, however in the story they split the team, and the members of silver team went "MIA", as for the show, they reused those names but I agree, would've been better to bring blue team or instead made a show with all the Spartan omega team back at their prime.

The obsession with cortana is what helped kill halo, she should never have been anything more than just a piece of the narration to give us something to think about as we blast covenant and flood with various weapons, slowly revealing a bit of lore and being there to hack open every door that chief should logically not be able to pass by on his own. She was nothing more than a narrative tool to begin with and she should have stayed a narrative tool.

THANK YOU for acknowledging Covie girl was a POW for THAT scene. I knew the show's writing was shit from the start, but that scene showed me that the writers might legitimately have brain damage. That whole scene was played off as being romantic, but that was a war crime through and through. It was especially stupid because they were operating under the assumption that she was an enemy agent, but they were treating her as a refugee. So, either Jimmy Rings sexually assaulted an enemy POW that was captive and couldn't offer consent, or he sexually assaulted a refugee who was detained-- someone which he was supposed to be guarding-- so she couldn't offer her consent. Either way they turned him into a rapist. Top-tier writing there. Also, they absolutely ruined Halsey as a character. In the show, she's clearly depicted as a self-serving villain that shows absolutely no remorse for what she did to the Spartans, and she continues to exploit them for her own ends. In the books, she admits that what she did is wrong, but she also claims that there was no other way. She truly believed that it had to happen to save mankind from itself, and so she judged that the ruination of the lives of 75 children was worth saving the lives of potentially billions of others. Was it wrong? Yes. Was it right to preserve mankind by sacrificing only a few children? Also yes. There's an argument to be made for both decisions, which is why it makes book Halsey a far more intriguing character than the show Halsey could ever be.
I understand now that the Chief has more PTSD watching the show than covenants glassing one world after another, even when he faced the flood. Besides lore accurate chief has a helmet inside a helmet...not a face

It takes the genuine grit, and strength only 117 would have to watch the first season, and still have the heart to hope, season 2 will get better

Yep, while he wasn’t on the ground, he was in orbit fighting on a space station.
I think the Pillar of Autumn left before the glassing began. He did return immediately after leaving the Halo. He seen the majority of the planet glassed, and managed to save the last 8 people on the planet.
@@jsingleton3142 he left just as the glassing began and I don’t think there were 8 people left on Reach, one normal human and about 4 or 5 Spartans.
@@Azorees-oj5zr MC first made contact with Adm. Whitcomb, and Spartans Anton, Grace, and Li on the surface of Reach. They then rescued Dr. Halsey, and Spartans Kelly, Fred, and Will from the underground Forerunner site.

To be fair, the psychic vision thing does happen to chief a few times in the form of dreams in the first three halo books
He doesn't know the lore, even though this literally happens in Halo 3.
@@toringmort4231Those stupid cortana inner dialogue sections were the worst thing about what was otherwise a masterpiece game for its time. The obsession with cortana is what helped kill halo, she should never have been anything more than just a piece of the narration to give us something to think about as we blast covenant and flood with various weapons, slowly revealing a bit of lore and being there to hack open every door that chief should logically not be able to pass by on his own. She was nothing more than a narrative tool to begin with and she should have stayed a narrative tool.

@@Jack-ox3rdnone of them, the closest Chief gets to having psychic visions is the Cortana bits in 3 and 5, that’s it.
@@Azorees-oj5zr Lol I know. The closest thing in the lore is called a Geas, which deals with neural physics. But the writers of the show didn’t know the lore enough to even mention that. That’s why they have weird Shamans that don’t belong in Halo

Thanks ill be on the lookout for your next review of season 3. Didnt watch the show and didnt want to watch it when i saw clips about it online. Such a shame, with all the work done prior the story should have been able to write itself an been excellent.
