Any sane person. Powerplants are usually built like a fortress. Easy to defend. And after a while it makes sense to start stockpiling fuel. Obviously they weren’t expecting to be swarmed, but so did the the rest of the world. In the end, like everyone, they were a victim of circumstance.

Not just the firearms either, but the training, the knowledge of how to operate without their smart devices, even something as basic as knowing how to start a camp fire or dress a wound (inb4 zombie comments... remember people can get hurt in a number of ways that doesn't involve being bitten or scratched by zombies). This sort of information is completely lost amongst those that live in major cities, because many of them don't see a point. If anyone has ever wondered why so many are fine with banning gas stoves, or banning gas powered cars... this is part of the reason why... they simply can't envision a world where the very modern conveniences will be worthless or not available. And this applies to more than just a zombie apocalypse. How many people were completely dumbfounded on what to do after Sandy blew through New York? If the power and subway was out for any longer than it was, how many would've been up the creek without a paddle? When that minor quake his the NE Corridor, how many people knew to get in a door frame or under a table? Hell, how many would know where to go in the event a tornado touched down and they didn't live in Tornado Ally? It's scary the amount of people who are basically only alive right now due to sheer dumb luck... and how many would be screwed if a world shaking disaster were to befall the US.

@@Tank50usThe thing is all zombie-apocalypses are hugely overrated in their danger. The spread through bites is actually extremely slow. Moreover, human biting abilities aren't so big - even usual citizen have just plenty of clothes, that would outright work as impenetrable armor against zombie bites, especially if you live in countries with cold winters (thus you have winter clothes). We have huge amount of doors and gates that are impossible to crush even by the largest crowd (it is possible to crush such only if crowd would all act perfectly synchronized, creating resonanse, which definitely isn't a thing in case of zombies) - so creating lots of safe zones also isn't a problem. I'm not even telling about abilities of modern military tech, especially armored vehicles, which can crush entire hordes of zombies without even noticing it. Finally, the only more-or-less realistic zombies are those we saw in 28 days later (so something like human rabies) - and such zombies, still being living things, would all perish in two weeks because of dehydration. And even if we go with some "magical zombies", who are indeed walking corpses - such corpses continue to decay and in several months their muscles would decompose so much that they won't be able neither bite, hit or even walk. So in the worst case scenario all apocalypse would end in half a year by itself - and that if people won't anyhow help to end it sooner.

Not just the firearms either, but the training, the knowledge of how to operate without their smart devices, even something as basic as knowing how to start a camp fire or dress a wound (inb4 zombie comments... remember people can get hurt in a number of ways that doesn't involve being bitten or scratched by zombies). This sort of information is completely lost amongst those that live in major cities, because many of them don't see a point. If anyone has ever wondered why so many are fine with banning gas stoves, or banning gas powered cars... this is part of the reason why... they simply can't envision a world where the very modern conveniences will be worthless or not available. And this applies to more than just a zombie apocalypse. How many people were completely dumbfounded on what to do after Sandy blew through New York? If the power and subway was out for any longer than it was, how many would've been up the creek without a paddle? When that minor quake his the NE Corridor, how many people knew to get in a door frame or under a table? Hell, how many would know where to go in the event a tornado touched down and they didn't live in Tornado Ally? It's scary the amount of people who are basically only alive right now due to sheer dumb luck... and how many would be screwed if a world shaking disaster were to befall the US.

Moreover, human biting abilities aren't so big - even usual citizen have just plenty of clothes, that would outright work as impenetrable armor against zombie bites, especially if you live in countries with cold winters (thus you have winter clothes). We have huge amount of doors and gates that are impossible to crush even by the largest crowd (it is possible to crush such only if crowd would all act perfectly synchronized, creating resonanse, which definitely isn't a thing in case of zombies) - so creating lots of safe zones also isn't a problem. I'm not even telling about abilities of modern military tech, especially armored vehicles, which can crush entire hordes of zombies without even noticing it. Finally, the only more-or-less realistic zombies are those we saw in 28 days later (so something like human rabies) - and such zombies, still being living things, would all perish in two weeks because of dehydration. And even if we go with some "magical zombies", who are indeed walking corpses - such corpses continue to decay and in several months their muscles would decompose so much that they won't be able neither bite, hit or even walk. So in the worst case scenario all apocalypse would end in half a year by itself - and that if people won't anyhow help to end it sooner.

This episode was one of the best, the absolute brutal details, like seen the White House barricated with planks, the ships fleen the city when the bombarment began, the references to train to busan and dawn of the dead and attack of titans with the gigants. And for one the virus is not a virus, is a religius curse, literally the punismen of god, like in Legion.
I KNEW that scene with the minivan and the mom hopping into it was from a different zombie film. I also didn't know about the train to busan reference! Good eye!
