"The cougar wasn't gonna take us cougars down." Wow
bad ass ladies!!
Praying for you ladies!
@@shawnmugee You know what it means.
Brave ladies!
Snoqualmie Velley trail enroute to Rattlesnake lake, east of North Bend. Cougar went across route.
Cougars seem to go after cyclists for some reason, the last cougar attack in the state was also a cyclist and he was killed, unfortunately.
They appear like prey animals.
Cougars are huge! We have seen them on our land.
Always carry a firearm.
THEN LISTEN TO THE COUGAR AND DONT GO THERE AGAIN
Who rides a bike through the WOODS w/o a gun?
Most of us. Busy rails to trails, riding in group.
People near Seattle, lol. They're afraid of guns more than they are of actual mortal danger.
@@wandertreeI’m not afraid of guns. Druggies don’t have them, because they sell or give away anything of value for more dope. The only people with guns worth worrying about are drug DEALERS - and MAnGinA Trumpscab Nation, almost all of whom couldn’t properly defend themselves without gun. You know how THAT is, right?
🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
All because the king county people voted for the state not to allow hunting with dogs. Cougars are not afraid of people or dogs anymore,.
You’re very wrong About that. If they had dogs the cougars would have fled. Not only that our liberal Law makers made laws to keep cougars around and not pay bounty hunters to Thin out the cougars like they used to do in the 60s
❤❤❤👍🏾
Going into any forest in the PNW without a gun is idiotic
In the last 100 years in the state, there have been 2 deadly cougar attacks, and 20 attacks that left someone hurt. Similarly there has been 1 fatal black bear attack and 19 that resulted in injury. You are far more likely to be hurt or killed driving to your local grocery store than you are a cougar or black bear attack. Now, I'm never going to advocate against people being prepared. But we really don't have such an epidemic of bear or cougar attacks that make it mandatory to pack a firearm on every hiking trip.
@@CranberryFo It's the guys like Isreal Keys that should keep you armed. Not to mention all the Squatchs running around...
As if you’d even go to Baskin-Robbins without packing, right Wyatt Earp?
You truly shouldn’t be biking in cougar territory. You can easily surprise them and it’s the humans to blame. In general cyclists as tourists are oblivious of their impact in my observation.
Cougars are everywhere! Greenbelt in housing developments, etc.
Get serious.
We keep building houses in cougar territory, of course people are going to be biking in those territories.
This is our land, too! Humans are above animals. We are not encroaching, animals are learning to hunt in our area for easy food, pets and pet food. They are encroaching on us! I say BRAVO to the women for doing what they had to do. You can tell they will be bothered over this for the rest of their lives. Fish and Game killed the cat. I say the pair of cougars just lost their mom and were hungry and not fully trained on hunting skills. Bad timing for everyone.
Humans are”above” animals? Huh. What a sad thing to think. Ride your bike in the wilderness at your own risk. I wish these ladies had stayed out of the woods. They were clueless.
@@bd12544 I can see you do not believe in the Bible. God made Adam and placed the animals under his care. He did not create animals equal. If you think an animal is the same thing as your mom or dad than you are a sad person. We as a human race are to take care of the animals and to respect them. The women were just riding bikes on a well known public trail in the woods. They did nothing wrong and the fact there were 2 cougars tells everyone they were young and siblings at that, Cougars are solitary animals.
@@darlenemc3586it’s like riding in the wrong hood if you don’t belong there Someone will eventually check you if you’re in there area for a lil to long
@@juwanharris5425 This hood is our hood from sea to shining sea! lol. The animals live in our land, we are not living in the animal's land. They are in our hood! The Cascades are huge, there's more than enough room for all animals to have their own territory. All animals are on the decline and closely monitored by game and wildlife. There's enough room for everyone. Do not believe the lies of the media when they keep hammering into our heads we are encroaching on nature. They are really telling us to live all cramped up in tiny apartments stacked on top of one another. I compare that type of life to living in a cage like an animal! God Bless you and I mean it!
@@darlenemc3586 gtf outta here, dragging religion into this. shame on you, but verrrrry very typical, so congrats on that.
We should stop encroaching.
This was North Bend, lol. It's been there a very long time. These things will occasionally happen.
This is a Miracle. I’m glad she is recovering.
Shame on you for killing that cat. You all were in the cougars habitat.
While I do find it's sad that the cat was put down I realize it had to be done. The cat would attack others. We can't change that humans have moved into animals habitats. Short of population decline it's going to keep happening. With that being the reality we can not let a animal that has tasted human blood roam free. It could easily attack a child. These women had every right to defend themselves.
🎈🤡🍦
You live in city? High rise apartment?
@@susantully1533it’s like riding around in the wrong hood/section Your eventually gonna get check or tried if you don’t respect the area your not from I’m not saying the old woman violated the cougars area But the cougars had the right to see who’s in there area /section It’s just natural thing
No, the cougar was in the humans' habitat. It's unfortunate timing for all, but these things do happen.
Cougar took half of your mouth.
be glad it wasn't YOU, teeeeee". i am sure she is aware.
