    • Seriously I don't understand why more people don't think about that? That's why I think it's weird when people overreact about press conferences because 90% of the time it's the same boring thing. I know this is divisive but that's why I found aspects of Sean O'malley refreshing when he does dorky not serious content sometimes almost mocking the seriousness & boring repetitive aspects of this sport and the UFC media. I mostly enjoy that his fights are exciting with refreshing skills. I only mentioned that because I felt like that stuff was relevant to the point you made.

    • Well they are professionals. Part of being a pro is that you have to do boring tasks again and again like at any job. Sure its boring and gets old quick but you gonna do what you gonna do and its not like they have to do all year round. Just a few days before the fight. Got used to it.

  • Regardless of this outcome, this dude is young. He has shown clear signs of being one of the best up and coming young talents in the lighter weight classes. The potential of him really succeeding is pretty high especially compared to a lot of other people in this sport

  • This guy is a beast. Has legit KO power and went toe to toe against Josh the scariest guy in 145. He beat 2 legit grapplers (Ryan and Bryce). If one thing Alex is ahead is his ring IQ and the way he adjusts (not that Ilia is bad). This is going to be an exciting fight

    • That is a fact almost everyone misses, he feels really legit, he is not only saying that just to talk (like colbyntong), he truely believes it, and you can feel it in his eyes... He has been training for this fight since August 2023, and all his coaches have studied volk deep down, and he is a very good wrestler and grappler... A friend of him "alvaro Kolmenero" stated he was able to take down khamzat chimaev in a sparring... idk, maybe its all crap or maybe he will leave wordless everyone on saturday

    • He also said Alex is PAST HIS PRIME. So, to be fair, Ilia's not totally delusional: he understands that 2-4 years ago, he WOULD NOT have said the same things he is now saying about Alex, where the champ is concerned. Even Tuporia KNOWS skills, experience, etc. Alex has it more than he himself. But he also knows he is PEAKING, physically and skill wise, whereas the once dominant champ has lost 50% of his last 4 fights. Making excuses like "Yeah, well but..." No, Alex INTENDED to win every one of his last 4 fights. But FACT IS, he lost two of them. THAT is an indication Alex has plateaued off and is declining, even if it's just by a few percentages. That's enough for a peaking guy 8 years younger to take over... If exceptionally once-dominant Nunez, Valentina, Usman, Izzy et al. hadn't plateaued out, hadn't declined, just a bit, it wouldn't have been possible for them to be beaten, as they were beaten... Ilia is working from, seeing things from.... THAT angle. And that is an exceptionally refined and sound angle to work from, whether you KZhead experts agree with Ilia or not...
