  • lived there for 11 years and know the ship when it was still in service. I often went swimming in the pool.. I had a small hut on the beach and always smuggled myself into the pool as a hotel guest..

    • Yo I've been there too, 4 years ago. Not sure why the resort is so immaculate but totally empty apart from the gate guy who we paid to let us use the beach out front. The pool was clean. Resort was being maintained beautifully but absolutely no guests. Not sure why.

  • put water in the ration heater bag first. only to the lines on the bottom, then put food packet in and let it lie down almost flat with the open end higher and you should be able to rip them open no problem maybe that one was stronger than normal. also mix the drinks in the clear bag in the ration pack

  • the cassette deck thing you found down there would probably have announcements on them be it the itinerary, time of day and weather, or just emergency broadcasts for the ship. They would all be in that rack and they just select the one they want

  • This ship used to be a cruiseliner which was then abandoned on the coast, eventually repurposed as a luxury hotel, and abandoned again! because people have killed themselves by jumping of the top, and probably because the thing is creepy as hell.

  • It blows me away how that little power inverter can power the whole room and ac. Probably only a 300 watt inverter. Off a small battery. Learned something new about boats. Now I am tempted to shut the power off to my house and try it myself to see if I can actually get my ceiling light fan and other outlets to work. Using my 1000 watt inverter and deep cycle battery.

    • The "AC" is just a fan that turns on and off. Big pumps in the engine room circulates cold water or refrigerant to radiators in each room behind the fan.

So it's not worth it just for a little fun lol. Something's well preserved because the owner think they may reopen it, obviously they hire someone to maintain some part.

  • its cheaper to keep a boat in the water than correctly dismanteling it. rotting costs nothing, re-use is expensive. In Egypt along the nile are a bunch of these types of ships that haven't moved by their own power in years.

  • The larger TV's in the TV storage room may very well be HDMI Television with extremely rare Flat Screen HDMI CRT. They aren't plasma or LED but they are CRT picture tube. Perhaps Sony Trinitron (They were made just prior to Plasma based flat screen (thin) TV). Very, very rare and much better screen resolution than standard picture tube. Heavy. Look for a very flat screen in the LARGER picture tube type TV (SONY TRINITRON) probably the biggest, better picture + more energy efficient ENERGY STAR.

  • if somebody gets the power generator usually smaller diesel engine compared to the main Drive engine going on that ship I would go crazy all lights go back on after like 10 years and maybe the airconditioning system but you need a battery and some fresh diesel and maybe two big batteries if it's 24 volt desel engine starter
