They ran about 6 or 7 of the fastest production sports cars from 0-100-0 as fast as possible, to see who could get up to speed and stop the fastest. For comparison, they threw a bike in the mix, a Kawasaki ZX-9, I believe. The Kawasaki was able to do 0-100-0 quicker than the fastest sports car could do 0-100.

    • In the 1960's, automobile writer Ken Purdy wrote an article about the 427 Shelby Cobra. He claimed in the article it could go from 0 to 100 mph and then BACK to 0 in less than 10 seconds. Very impressive for 1965. One of the most memorable stories about the 427 Cobra involves a test arranged for Sports Car Graphic magazine by Shelby’s Ken Miles. A few years earlier, Aston Martin claimed that its DB4 was capable of accelerating from 0-100 mph and back down to zero in less than 30 seconds. Miles had the idea to restage the test using the new 427 Cobra. The result, according to SCG editor Jerry Titus, was an astounding 13.2 seconds! Bill Cosby the comedian became famous selling comedy records in the early 1960's, one of his routines talked about test driving a 427 Cobra, it was HILARIOUS. He didn't buy the car because it could carry only one star forker.
