Bathroom Remodel | Part 2 - Reinforcing the floor and installing the drains
Continuing with the bathroom remodel, in this video I am reinforcing and leveling the floor, and then I will install the PVC pipe for the toilet and shower drains, and also begin to add vents for the shower and toilet drains.
In this series of videos I will be transforming an awkwardly laid out 5ft x 7ft bathroom into a 7ft x 7ft bathroom with modern updates, a curbless shower with a glass panel, a pocket door, and an LED lighted shower niche.

Who needs Netflix, Hulu or Tubi when this kind of kind of video is available 😊. Great work Mike!
Good on you for knowing to make holes in the middle of the joists rather than notching them.
Really excellent work, Mike! 😃 Thanks for all the tips there!!! Stay safe there with your family! 🖖😊
Love these recent home reno videos
More to come! I don't know if I can pull it off, but I'm planning to release one video a day until December 23rd. It's hard because I haven't even finished the project yet. It's a big effort to get stuff done and also produce all the videos (and work a full time job). 😊
@@Woodumakeit that is a huge effort indeed. Now that you’ve outlined the stakes involved, I’ll be on the edge of my seat!
@@Woodumakeithow much were u able to slope shower drain to mainline?
Wood you remodel it? YES! 😃
Looks great! One note though, those rubber couplers to transition from cast-iron to PVC are only code legal if they're left exposed. Buried in a floor, you need to use a banded/shielded one, such as the Fernco Proflex line.
Thanks, I didn't know that. You'll see in my next episode that I took care of that, but not because I knew about that in the code. 😊
@@Woodumakeit great video, doing similar thing, im going to do my toilet vent similar but instead of going behind it like yours im going to have it go off to side like you had in beginning, is that ok?? so it ll go up side wall
I love pex piping. I use the shark bites to transition from metal piping to pex no torch needed. I really enjoyed the vid and I know there are always many ways to accomplish the job.
Every time is a pleasure to see your work sir. Hope one day I can do my own projects with my own tools
Your bathroom project is similar to one I've been putting off for several years. Our old house had previous owners cut about 2/3 of rafter depth out to run drain pipes. Needless to say major structural issues I have to address including house had no shut off values other than main and that one was rusted open. This year finally got that addressed so now it's time to see if I can figure out now to approach the rafter issue which requires similar reworking like u are doing so thks for sharing.. If ever in area and want a job 🙂
Hi Mike, just found your channel!!, great job !!, but can you make your videos a bit longer ?, maybe 20 minutes instead of 5 to 8 minutes ? Thanks 😊

Hi. Are you wearing a glucose monitor?
Yes, but that's an Omnipod pump that you see on my arm.
