Hello everyone and welcome to the wonderful Isle of Berk! On this island you can find 11 dragons from the How To Train Your Dragon series with beautiful models and fantastic animations! There are also a few items added by the mod that increase your combat capabilities, and the mod is consistently updating with more and more dragons from all canon HTTYD shows and other media, including the live action. Current dragons include the Night Fury (with a special Toothless skin!), Light Fury, Night Light, Skrill, Monstrous Nightmare, Hideous Zippleback, Triple Stryke, Deadly Nadder, Gronckle, Terrible Terror, Speed Stinger, and Stinger.

For those who don't know, as of September 21, 2023, Isle of Berk has been shut down due to "lack of trust" among the team members. TLDR; as of commenting this, the mod is currently still available to download, but will no longer be receiving updates. A new mod called New Berk's Dawn is currently in development by many members of the original team, which will use many of the same assets, but different coding. For those who want a deeper explanation: The mod was shut down with little warning, other staff members stating they only knew of the shutdown 10 minutes before it officially went live. Many members of the discord were confused, as sneak-peeks of new dragons were being showcased just the day prior, and work porting the mod to 1.20.1 looked like it was going well. Many others were angry, as the project had potentially thousands of hours of volunteer work put into it. *Allegedly*, the owner of the mod was not a good person (general toxicity, homphobia/transphobia, racist jokes), and a couple of other important people in the team were also problematic. The old owner decided to suddenly shut down the mod with little explanation other than "drama and issues". However, there is still hope! Many of the original team, excluding the problematic members, have begun work on a new mod called New Berk's Dawn. They have been given full ownership from the original modeler to use the models from Isle of Berk, however, they are going to be coding it from scratch. They also want to iterate that it and the team are separated from Isle of Berk. Thanks! Yeah if you charge the fire attack during rain lightning will strike. Also, if you fall, dragons set to following will attempt to catch you.
also if u hold e and x (fire and special ability)at the same time and relase them when its charged it also spawns lightning
I think it was really random to add that ability to toothless (in the 3rd film, not the game)

@@jessicahaigh2141 most people do, thats what I don't like about them. Well actually it's more that a whole lot say nightfurys are the strongest dragons regardless and often confuse toothless for nightfurys in rankings only between species of dragon.
This mod looks so good, so happy there's finally a high quality httyd mod that actuallylooks like it belongs in minecraft! Of all the dragons in this mod I'd say my favorites are probably the speed stinger, triple stryke, and then the skrill, although my all time favorite is the death song.

As a HTTYD fan the amount of detail put into this mod is astounding. You can really tell the creators were fans of the franchise themselves.

I think I recognise dragon skins from the httyd app Rise of Berk. That app did have a lot of pretty dragons. And amongst the night light skins ther was Thunder from the 9 realms. I don’t like that show at all but still think it’s nice he made it into this mod… for some reason 😅
I'd love to see my personal favorite dragon, the Timberjack into this mod. It's special ability could be cutting down trees while riding it or something haha
It would be cool if they added the red death as a boss. Maybe you get some sort of unique scales that can be crafted into armor, which will make all dragons submit to you, making them tamable immediately
@@Whydoiexisthere- That would be interesting to see for sure, what about all the other giant dragons such as the bewilderbeast, they could be one of few giant dragons you're able to tame or something or at least they will be non-hostile unless provoked. Killing a bewilderbeast would drop tusks to create special weapons that also make aggressive dragons easier to tame or dominate over.
Mini bosses could be Outcasts, Singetail Dragon Riders, and dragon trappers. Big bosses could be The Red Death, Bewilderbeast and Titanwing variants
@@zealouspg5079 I was thinking the same thing! Another interesting dragon could be the sentinels. They could be a whole new concept of finding and taming. They could be found at abandoned villages or even pillager bases. Whispering death and screaming death would be a fun one, found in caves and will jump scare you at any point haha!
@@TheLookingGlass001 I think it'd be cooler if the Sentinels spawned on a new sort of island covered in dragon bones and fruit trees. And if you try to leave they pretty much just merc you unless you tame one using the fruit and ride it out. Downside to how OP they are would be you get blindness while flying on them
Imagine a 100 days/experiment or a series RP with this mod... Especially on a island map

if you name a dragon its corresponding name, itll chnage its skin to match, for example, naming a deadly nadder a "stormfly" or a gronkle a "meatlug" and so on, for all the "main dragon cast" itll make the dragon match the dragons from the movies/show

Edit: Isle Of Berk is being discontinued (still up) but some of the old devs are making a new mod called New Berk's Dawn that will be actively worked on! I hope this gets updated to 1.19 so I can just dump all the recent dragon mods into a world and find out what horrors await me

Few small details i would add or change about this mod 1. I think it'd be cool if in biomes where Night and Light furies overlap there's a tiny chance that a night light could spawn 2. instead of beating skrills into submission i think they should be tamed like a lot of dragons where they're passive if you meet certain requirements in this case holding a lightning rod in your hand 3. similar to no 2 i would change the triple stryke taming method too with it requiring you to flick a lever near it for it to be passive (based on how Astrid tamed Sleuther in the show by distracting him with clicking sounds)
I feel like the “beating to submission” just kind of… fits. I mean, if a new player has trouble taming dragons, they’ll switch sides and start attacking. If they realize the skrill/triple strike submits, they might try taming it in that state.
@@Whydoiexisthere- oh come on the other dragons require you to be completely defenseless no armor no weapons and specific things like having a potion effect they're obviously expecting you to have prior knowledge
I would keep both so you can choose to be pacifist or evil dragonrider
i love the idea of the player running up to a triple stryke and spam-flicking a lever back and forth to keep it distracted lmfao
@@xusel4975 but then once you get good gear there's no longer an incentive to be passive because just beating the dragons into submission would be less effort than to make a certain potion
The quality of this mod is insane! And seeing the different dragon skins referencing the games and TV shows is just so awesome. The mod creator’s a true fan.
Didn't expect the color variants, really adds some cool detail to the mod.
I love how this mod just specifically has ALL my favourites in this apart from the sentinel dragons and the whispering/screaming death, but im sure those will come eventually, it makes me so excited.
maybe Instead of beating a skrill into submission, hold an iron sword while it is thunderstorming and then feeding it raw fish/meat? Like in RTTE!

I wonder if the mod plans to add any more dragons. I'd love to see a stormcutter or hobblegrunt; I think both have great potential to be useful in a playthrough. A whispering death would be an awesome horror aspect and bring dangers to caves, and something like a thunderdrum or scauldron would make oceans worth exploring!
They're planning to add as many dragons as possible!

My opinion on this mod so far: Great animations, nice use of style freedom, cool flight feeling. I would maybe like to see the dragons head while flying to make it more immersive. The plasma shots should look more blue/purple. I think Skrills should only be purple/blue/ maybe black. Skrills and Triple Stryke should also be tamable pacively with for example lightning rod/ magnetic sword (Skrill) or Nadder spikes as 'drumsticks' (Triple Stryke). Light blue color sometimes looks to bright on the dragons. Nightmare should drop (or harvest) Nightmare gel, maybe similar redstone but it can burn. Zippleback should be able to (maybe rarely) ignite it's own gas. I don't know what to think about the Stinger yet.

I just downloaded it rn and y'all oh my god. Riding a night fury with the httyd soundtrack playing is possibly the most cinematic experience of my life and is the closest I'll ever get to it because, let's be honest, deep down all of us want dragons to be real. 10/10 would recommend popping on Test Drive and Where No One Goes while riding a dragon for the best experience. Make sure some pretty shaders are on too and you're golden y'all

Hah, I love that you can tame the Nadder with chicken. Since i remember Stormfly was very fond of chicken.

They should add the sentinel as a mount from the series at vanaheim it would be a cool structure and a rlly cool tame Also its my favourite dragon
personally I think it'd be so cool to have a costume biome about vanaheim, idk about taming Sentinels tho because I personally feel like they're those kind dragons that can't be tamed since they have the "task" of protecting dying dragons in their last moments. I just kinda feel like that's too noble of a job to just make them tamable :]

A “Vanaheim biome” could be generated like a Mushroom Island biome, like same rarity and parameters.

I don't know if it's a glitch, but I managed to tame a Lead Speed Stinger in my creative world. Ngl, I honestly hope they are tamable and they don't remove this feature.
I'd love to see how this mod develops in the future, it already looks sick and has a ton of potential! Just imagine exploring around and coming across giant boss dragons like The Red Death or the Bewilderbeast oh my GOSH!! Can't wait to see what else this mod has in store!
I legit think this was made in response to school of dragons being shut down. Could be just me but I’d really like to see more exotic and less appreciated dragons getting attention like the grapple grounder (specifically one based off the first HTTYD game) in savannah and plateau biomes , smothering smokebreath in tundra Forrests and caves, snaptrappers in jungles, and maybe even the slinkwing spawning near villages as a tribute to rescue riders even though not a whole lot of people like that show. It would be a fun reference.

Somthing I think they should add to this mod is more titan wings and maybe that toothless can shoot lightning also I think you should be able to be a dragon it might be far fetched but it sounds like a cool idea considering there’s only like 1 dragon survival mod where you can play as a dragon and a dinosaur version in the works

Would be nice if Whispering Death and Screaming Death were added as very agressive, hard to tame dragons. Screaming Death could just be a boss. Maybe add Death Song too, the triple Death update! xD Or... hear me out! Two different updates, one with both Whispering and Screaming Death and another with Death Song and Earsplitter!
The deaths' would be cool as deep-dark dwellers.

Its pretty interesting that they use the unique dragon in the mobile game Rise of Berk for the variety of each dragona, which is awesome cant wait for more updates

I hope this mod blows up cause I will never use dragonfire as it took httyd and turned it into a middle school dance with random themes such as Halloween. Also they made a dragon called Nightlights, even though the community already called the lightfury/nightfury kids nightlights.

This seems like a promising mod i hope thay make more dragons as well as biomes and items related to series such as islands with vikings , the volcano where you find the green death as a boss maybe and the shield and axes vikings style as well as maybe structures like viking huts and the training academy whre the main caracteres are npcs and give you quests

They could make it so the mini-boss dragons like the lead speed stinger drop something more than an egg and something like dragon eye lenses or some item used to craft the dragon eye leading you to a final boss(s) like the purple death or something. example of mini boss- Death Song: disables dragons ability to attack and could stun players in amber. Drops: Death song egg and a dragon eye lense.

I remember there was a yeba’idi losing in oasis, they just spawned in and started slaying. I had my soch out (not to brag but I am very good with the soch) and I killed them once, they revived and came back again trying to kill me. They came back a THIRD TIME with a crab…. And I killed them again :) They came back once more with an opra with a friend who was a sal, I couldn’t beat them so I ran. They were just so pitiful.

For those who want to play this mod alongside Ice and fire mod, Isle of berk isn't compatible with the latest stable Ice and fire version wich is 2.1.12, You'll have to download the 2.1.13 Beta version to be able to play thses two mods together
This definitely looks better then the dlc how to train your dragon dlc mainly because of the look and animations
I think I'll have to say Deadly Nadder or Triple strike are my fav. They both are pretty good at getting rid of mobs and relatively easy to tame, I WOULD say Night fury is my fav by truth be told, I rarely need to use such fire-power and when I do it's usually to get rid of some mobs who happened to walk near my house and the last thing I wanna do is repair massive holes in the ground, the Nadder's special let's me kill mobs without accidentally setting fire to anything and so to with the Triple.
it'd be fire if the gronckle had a specific recepy for gronkle iron that can be purchased from toolsmiths or weaponsmiths and you wouldn't be able to make gronckle iron without the recepy unlocked
You should try dragon fire. If you have not already imagine if this MOD,SOD and dragon fire combine forces and made a game🤩
the fact night fury shall spawn in savanna or smth like that bc night furies don't like cold climates. It was said in httyd 3
What I find interesting is the models are based on the ones from rise of Berk which is a game on mobile.

You should do a review on the mod AdventureKraft, it's basically a OreSpawn remake for 1.16.5. It's a good adventure mod, has KZheadr mobs, Godzilla and a lot of other stuff

i think the night fury DOES have a special ability, its just out of the norm; if ur in a thunderstorm (not 100% sure this applies to rain, i need to test that) it will summon lightning when it shoots a plasma blast
Toothless can turn invisible too but it happens because of his lighting attacks instead of the plasma ones
It would be cool if they added all the islands,the hidden world and the alpha dragons
Honestly I’m surprised the night fury doesn’t have a special ability. If they did , I would give them their echolocation where scream in a certain direction will give any mobs or important blocks like ore a glow effect.

Hey, amazing mod! I have one question. Is there a way in creative to spawn a collor that you want. For example I want to spawn the white (albino) skill but have to spawn 100 skrills before I got the albino. Is there a way to change collors in creative?

This mod is great, the only cons is the quantity of dragons, the serie Race to the Edge shows way too many dragons, and i hope the creator make more of them. The quality is 10/10, animation is smooth and it is accurate to the franchise.

I feel like the nightfury should have a special ability that allows it to strike its surrounding area with lightning and also give it and its rider invisibility for a few seconds (in reference to the third movie where toothless learns how to go invisible and where he charges up with lighning and explodes the other dragons off). Since the abilities are essentially the same as the lighfury and skrill, it could make it so that whenever it uses the ability it does damage to itself and its rider.
nvm i just saw the pinned thread about how he strikes lighning in the rain , but i do still think he should also have a special ability relating to invisibility cause it was added in the third movie
you should be able to put screaming death scale armour on the dragons at a speed debuff
