Lay is a nummer 1 artist in China. This music was filmed in Chinas biggest film studio and the video cost 1.4 million dollars to make and took 6 months i belive and the crazy part it that it came from his own pocket, in other words dude is rich af. His latest album which came out the first sold 1.5 million copies in 7 minutes, and before Baekhyun (another exo member) released his solo album last year Lay was the artist with the best selling album in Korea and the crazy part being that it was in Chinese. Lay also produce and write most of his songs. He is also EXO's best dancer along side Kai (it comes down to prefrence), Lay also is an amazing vocalist and a great rapper, as well as a good actor. Also the song got like 40 million views in China in the first 4 days.

The instrument in the beginning is Chinese traditional instrument - gu Zheng . And btw, the lyrics is Chinese not Korean . Lay is Chinese and he is trying to introduce his own music style and system which he calls Mpop (mandiran pop) . The song is in Chinese, MV shot in China and shows traditional Chinese culture and music From what I understand Lit is written in response to antis calling him white lotus. It’s wordplay bec lit means Lotus in Chinese (that’s the flower thing you were asking). This is Lay showing everyone he is the king and he is bringing China to the world! EXO-Ls are very proud of Lay’s accomplishments. He’s very talented and hardworking. By the way, the budget for this MV is 1.4M and SM didn’t pay for it.

I think the long end credits is affecting the view count. I’ve watched this video so many times. Been waiting almost a week for you to see this. Yes, it is art. I hope they make an explanation video of the video and the lyrics because I had to google so much to understand the lyrics alone, which is filled with so much duality - even the title. Was shot at the world’s biggest film studio in China. Cost $1.4 m - 1.6m to produce which by music video standards compared to Michael Jackson and Madonna MVs from the 1990s is dirt cheap.

I’ve followed Lay since EXO debut, he was always over looked and he is amazingly talented. When he produced his first solo track we got to see a lot more of his talent. Then when he got even more popular in China SM let him have more say in what and how he produces. I believe that Lay fought for it. Now he is a top star in China and even has acted in movies and C dramas. He makes amazing beats and plays a number of different instruments. I’m so happy he is getting the recognition for the talent he has. You should check out his Just dance that is all English and Honey is another good one. The instrument you were asking about in the beginning is called a guzheng. It is about a foot wide by 4 feet long with strings, which is a simplified description of a beautiful Chinese instrument. I love the sound they make. There are several videos on YT you can watch to hear them played. You should maybe watch some Korean, Chinese, and Japanese historical dramas. I found it both amusing and irritating that you even repeated the phrase "Taking China to the world", and it still didn't click for you that he was singing in Chinese, and then when the video started, "Is this where they filmed Daeschwita?". Oh dear. You crack me up.

not many people mentioning Lay’s Krump dance in this video, he is the first artist in China who dances krump , which is so hard to learn , and he practiced 6 month of krumping for this song .
This was actually filmed in the biggest studio in the world. The team who helped in making the effects in this MV is the same team who made the effects for the movie 'Along With The Gods' (if I'm not mistaken). The story in this MV is so rich and this album is only the 1st part of Lay's 4th child (or album, he calls his albums his children). This album incorporates more of the traditional Chinese music while the 2nd part (to be released yet) will incorporate more modern music. Lay is incredibly talented in different aspects (whether it's singing, dancing, choreographing, producing, writing songs, acting, etc) and yes, he IS STILL a member of EXO. But his career in China is really strong and his hardwork is definitely worth it.
