I given the wonderful opportunity to participate in the upcoming Quebec Film on Gilles Villeneuve's early days of racing. As you might know, he was a champion snowmobile racer before becoming one of the best Formula 1 pilots to have ever raced! He raced Alouette and Ski-Roule in his career. I was asked to provide a Ski-Doo Blizzard for the recreation of the 1974 Kawartha Cup race in Peterborough, Ontario.
My uncle and I got a 1974 340 TnT free air up and running and outfitted it to replicate a Blizzard 440 that could have fictitiously raced in that iconic race.
If you enjoy DIY mechanical projects, repairs, restorations and vintage snowmobiles, you will enjoy this video!
That’s great for you!
Thanks!
Thanks for the video Matt. Looking forward to more swap meet videos. Whole family enjoys your channel. Keep up the great work. Your knowledge on vintage sleds is impressive
Really glad you and your family are enjoying my content. Next swap meet is in June, so hopefully going to make another video on that. Stay tuned and take care! Thanks for watching!!!
Nice! Rode in the era when these were on the trail & track.
I would have loved to see an old blizzard on the trails back then!!!!
Cool. I had the pleasure of seeing Gilles and his brother racing in Peterborough several times.
Those must be some really nice memories!
Félicitation pour ce travail
Un gros merci a toi pour l’excellent travail sur le moteur! Il a bien fonctionné les 2 jours de pratiques et 3 jours de tournage!!!

Thanks so much for watching!!!
Keep at it you’ll get it! Nice old sled.
Thanks!!!
At 15, I bought a year old 1974 400FA Ski Doo, when it was warm it was a pig but when it turned cold, man it flew and embarrassed many 440cc or bigger sleds from their competition!
I think the 400 was the perfect balance of power and weight. Too bad pistons are so far to find now a days….
Great video , not many youtuber makes videos about cool old race sled. Keep'em coming! I dig this stuff
Really glad you enjoy my vids!!! Thanks for watching. Take care!!

We really don’t have much. 2 days before the track video, it was mud everywhere!!
I knew you would get it started on the day it would
It was a lot of work, but it managed to hold up for all 5 days in Valcourt!!!! I am really glad it made it!!! You never know with these old sleds, sometimes the dumbest thing happens and you have a breakdown….

Thanks!!! Really glad you enjoyed!!!
This turned out great
It really did. Sled was a blast to ride and held up great for the entire shoot!
any videos on the 12/3
I might make one yes. I filmed a bit of the assembly, so I’ll have to check what type of video I can make.
Can you help me my skidoo elan 250 just randomly shuts down when im driving and then it takes like 20 drags to turn it on and i have tried working on it but it doesnt help so please help me😅😅😅😅😅😅😅 love your vids❤❤❤❤
Sounds like an electrical issue… Start by shaking the wires on the sled to see if there is a loose connection. If its in the engine, you might have to check coil, points, condensor. Good luck and thanks for watching!!!
Nice work! Sled came out looking awesome! Would you happen to know where they got that new track from?
The track was on a 1976 rv we had that was set up for oval racing. It was not brand new, but still in really good shape. Holding up well so far.
Can you please work on some other off your old snowmobiles pls😢😢😢😢😢😢😅😅😅
Hopefully get around to some different ones next season! Thanks for watching!!!
One i really want you to work on is that alpine that you said was super rare when you work on your super alpine
