  • A beautifully sincere number. Ashcroft's pain is very apparent here. The loss of love is one of the most crushing pains any human can experience. I wouldn't wish it upon my worst enemy. And yet it's something most of us must deal with at some point. Life, eh??

    • Stephen Doran In what respect? Maybe later on in their careers you could say but during the 1994-1997 era that’s just not true. Liam was an incredible singer at the time (unorthodox but big power live and amazing in the studio) and songs like Live Forever, Slide Away, the Masterplan, Listen Up and Don’t Look Back in Anger are just fantastic.

  • Fun fact for anyone who didn't know: The clapping in this song (in the background, in time with the beat) was done by a man called Liam Gallagher. No-one knows who he was and he hasn't been heard from since this minor cameo.

    • I wander thro' each charter'd street, Near where the charter'd Thames does flow. And mark in every face I meet Marks of weakness, marks of woe. In every cry of every Man, In every Infants cry of fear, In every voice: in every ban, The mind-forg'd manacles I hear How the Chimney-sweepers cry Every blackning Church appalls, And the hapless Soldiers sigh Runs in blood down Palace walls But most thro' midnight streets I hear How the youthful Harlots curse Blasts the new-born Infants tear And blights with plagues the Marriage hearse
