  • Thanks for your comments guys it’s great to see you all! For everyone asking about the quarters we decided not to break open that part of the slot machine because to get inside we’d have to not only break the lock but also cut open the side of the machine because there’s an anti theft latch on the inside holding the door shut and doing that would heavily damage it and drastically decrease the value. Also when we shook the slot machine it didn’t sound like there was a lot of change inside so ultimately we decided it wasn’t worth it. We got the big money and I’m more than satisfied with what we found!

    • The old coin slot machines kept the payout coins in dispensers so they wouldn't rattle. This would prevent people from trying to shake the machine, listening for the rattle to judge if the machine was ready for a large payout.

    • All depends on the serial number. If it has allot of zeros in front of the actual number, there is potential. Even being a circulated bill would not lowered the value much

    • the lock and the cash door would have to be replaced after breaking into it so whatever new lock is chosen will come with a key.

  • Observation: most slots dont accept older bills if the new ones work, that machine is an old one and not sure it would have accepted new bills equally as the old ones. That requires and expensive upgrade.

  • Definitely not casino quality, at least not modern day. The modern slot machines, at least in my state require two locks to access the cash box. Also payouts are done by voucher. Surprised you didn't take out the coin bin in front. It obviously had a coin slot, it probably paid out in coins.
