I saw a video going viral of a Chinese teacher rating the Mandarin of the Malaysian Chinese comedian Uncle Roger @mrnigelng and I thought it might be cool to try and surprise him by speaking some Hokkien which I thought he might be able to speak as it’s a variety of Chinese widely spoken in southeast Asia. But then he challenged me to cook some fried rice and it was a total disaster. But a comedic disaster, at least! He completely destroyed my fried rice recipe.

  • this explains why xiaoma has such a galaxy brain when it comes to languages. looking at his toddler-esque decision making when it comes to peeling onion AFTER chopping, the way he pushed the onions into the bowl, how he chops tofu and cracks eggs; he maxed out SPEECH on character creation and spawned with 0 in motor skills 😂
