Coca-Cola Was Invented Using Cocaine (feat. Bill Hader & Jenny Slate) - Drunk History

2019 ж. 14 Там.
6 119 165 Рет қаралды

John Pemberton invented Coca-Cola while trying to create a patent medicine - but it had something a little extra in it.
About Drunk History:
Based on the popular web series, Drunk History is the liquored-up narration of our nation's history. Host Derek Waters, along with an ever-changing cast of actors and comedians, travels across the country to present the rich tales that every city in this land has to offer. Booze helps bring out the truth. It's just that sometimes the truth is a little incoherent.

    • Ilir Sulejmani remember, this was before “over the counter cocain” (adderall) was legalized. It’s why cocain is illegal, because it’s a natural drug, like marijuana.

      @Your_Mother881@Your_Mother8814 жыл бұрын
    • @@Your_Mother881 Dunno about cocaine (which I wouldn't say is truly natural, since it has to be refined, and cocaine isn't illegal in the same sense as marijuana, it CAN be prescribed legally on a federal level, just not in powder form) but marijuana wasn't made illegal because it was a natural drug. Various lobbyists with huge interest in the paper industry pressured politicians into making hemp illegal, because it was a danger to the tree-pulp paper industry. But it would have seemed suspicious to just outlaw hemp, so they outlawed marijuana for racist reasons (It makes black people violent, it makes Mexicans lazy, and whatnot) which were things the generally racist population of the 30's could get behind. They also quietly outlawed hemp, which is what they were after the whole time.
