Pathan's was devastatingly good. Caught in the slips, then an LBW, then clean bowled, you cant ask for a better combination of swing bowling wickets than that.

So, since you obviously put yourself on a pedestal as a judge and coach of this level of bowling, you should apply to your nation's coaching stafff and the ICC experts for consideration of appointment to that panel. If you are merely a keyboard cowboy you should learn a thing or two before exercising your fingers.
Among these 5 Hat Tricks , pathan's is the best . Because It is a test match and first over and all three were top order batsmen. Most of the hat tricks in cricket are achieved with taking wickets of lower middle order or tail enders.... In that context , Irfan's Hat trick is surely among top 10 hat tricks ever .

Irfan Pathan..what a performance! Taking the top 3 at the start of a test match is simply outstanding. In all other hat-tricks there was a tailender, but Irfan finished the best of the opposition team in 3 deliveries of the first over. Take a Bow Champion!

Wasim Akram also had 2 Test cricket hat tricks to his name - no bowler has ever taken 4 international hat tricks except him
I think Vaas is the only bowler to take a hat trick off the first 3 balls of an innings (possibly a the match). I think it was against Bangladesh at a Word Cup.

That swing by Pathan was unbelievable
CaptainArn if you look carefully there wasn't much swing, no doubt there was a lot of movement. The movement however wasn't swing it was mostly seam of the pitch. This is because the pitch was very green and good for seam movement.
If you look even more carefully there were actually three balls that I was talking about, all of which swung like crazy.

Don't forget took a while for someone to realise it was a hat trick. Best hat trick ever.
I think #Malinga almost got 5 in 5 (the last one was appeal turned down or something like that) and "choked" #SouthAfrica again. The Proteas just managed to sneak through though. Pathan's was a gem on that Faislabad (correct me if wrong) morning. After two test matches that produced truck loads of runs (guess only 5-7 batsmen were dismissed both matches put together!). Younis Khan and Mohamad Yousuf were in the form their life and driven the Indians into submission until then. This morning spell changed all that. BTW, in spite of that horrendous start, Pakistan actually went on to win that game. Freddie Flintoff was the "go to" man for England in the mid 2000s. He delivered most of the times like this one. Snuffed the Windies out of a game in balance. Guess, Perera did the same to Pak in that game. Siddle's 'trick in an #Ashes match will always remain special. The delivery to dismiss Cook was very good. Prior and Broad dug themselves into a "block" hole :) Great compilation cricowiz

honestly the best hatrick was by Darren Gough against Australia in Australia. Aussies were crusing for victory at one stage and then Ramprakash takes an absolute stunner catch. After that Daren Gough changes the fate of the game with his hatrick. That was a superb game of cricket.

I was at the Gabba on Day 1 of the first Ashes test of 2010 when Peter Siddle took that brilliant hat-trick. First day of an Ashes series and to take a hat-trick on your birthday, has to go down as one of the greatest of all time.

Irfan Pathan's hat-trick is the greatest of all time for many reasons. 1. Taking wickets of three of the greatest batters of Pakistan. 2. Hat-trick in the test cricket and that too in very first over. 3. Three deliveries three modes of dismissals quite a treat to watch. 4. All three deliveries were unplayable as all of them swung from good length and that's what you called the real talent of a bowler !!

I'd prefer if there weren't 3 ODI hat tricks in this video. I agree that Malingas is worth reliving but the other two are pretty whatever. In the two test hat tricks the batsmen were consistently trying to block, making the hat trick more special. There's nothing special about how Afridi got out

Irfan Pathan is probably one of the best indian bowlers there is and I think he should still be playing right now but the BCCI have poorly managed him. To be honest, I am surprised why there is no Pakistani bowlers in this video, I can think of several hattricks by Pakistanis which were far better than this.

The Malinga hattrick was just goosebumps stuff. I remember watching it live on TV. He almost manufactured a win out of absolutely nothing. He created another chance after thay but SL had no slips in and the ball went for boundary.
