  • I saw Golovkin connect about three body blows in round 1 which were not scored as hits, so it goes both ways. Golovkin is a body puncher, and judges sometimes favor head punches as more legit points. Golovkins balance and technique make him look rock solid in there. Dirrell looked erratic and off balance frequently, though he did really well. GGG gets it, fair and square.

I can understand Abraham's frustrations, he was trying to corner his man to hit him and they guy went down without even being hit. But my point is merely that Dirrell faked being knocked out.

  • One of the only top prime opponents ever willing to fight against prime GGG, because it was mandated by the Olympic tournament format, and therefore, sadly, one of the only real displays of what prime GGG could do at the top level. Unfortunately, it was in head gear and big gloves, and GGG was still only 22 years old, not yet with his prime strength, explosive power, and 100% locked in technique (some of the shots are still a little loose at this point in GGG's development, although even at 22, a lot faster and more explosive than they are now, at 36. Just not as explosive and accurate as they were in his prime years, the mid and late twenties and 30. We will never get to see prime GGG against prime top opponents. The closest we ever got was David Lemieux, when GGG was already starting to slip just a bit, and Martin Murray. Since prime GGG is one of my favorite boxers of all time, it still bugs me, even though I know there are much more important things going on in the world.

  • Lots of people seems to forget that at that time in the amateurs it was computer system so the fighting became more of hit and run and avoid any sorts of trading because you ran the risk of getting a punch scored on you. it was a horrible system. It was put in effect because the robbery of Roy Jones in the 88 Olympics but it actually made it worse. I saw plenty of guys get robbed because the judges wouldn't press the buttons at the same time to score a point. Body shots didn't count as much so you pretty much had to throw straight punches. Guys that had the lead coming into the last round all had to do was run and avoid get hit for the rest of the round and automatically he would win the fight. Also a lot of fighters adopted the the style of just keeping the face and center cover up and walk in like a Zombie trowing straight punches.

  • The scoring here was somewhat slumberous. It's like the fight had both Golovkin and the judges starting off slow. Them they both picked it up around the same time. Direll was seemingly lacking in confidence early in the fight. His trainers advice was in vain because he was intimidated already.

  • Andre dirrell has really grown simce his fight with Abraham. Even though he's only fought low level competition you can tell his demeanor has change. He doesn't use unnecessay movements like before. Much calmer and has better tecnique. He'll be back at the tops and nobody at super middle weight will be able to to touch him. He has the talent but he needs to cont to develope that ring iq and his heart is still questionable

  • Defend yourself at all times. It was an arm punch, no hip or shoulder in it. Basically a glorified slap. My point is not whether it hurt or not, but simply the undeniable fact that Dirrell faked being knocked out. He took the easy way out in a fight where he was on the run. People like Dirrell couldn't have such success if boxing adopted rules that penalise fighters who run away and refuse to fight. That way he'd have about 10 defeats already.

Hes so settle with his evasive aggression. Nobody on the plant at 160 or 54 has a chance. The guys that maybe will give him a run for his money are those monsters at 168 and 175. If he fought dirrell today at 160. Hed knock dirrell out for sure. And i actually like direll

That's why I wasn't surprised when they didn't fight each other in the super 6 tournament. Everyone blamed Dirrell bull honestly neither wanted that fight. They never wanted to fight each other.

Dirrell is clearly bigger than him and he's on his bike running away from triple g. Either way we know who has the better career in the pros. Despite if dirrell maybe should have gotten the nod by a point. Golovkin is now one of the best middle weight kingpins ever. Whereas dirrell didn't do shit his whole career but be a top contender. That's all dirrell ever was. A beltless top contender.

    @brianticas6909@brianticas69096 жыл бұрын
  • A fight lasts 12 rounds, if you check out in the 11th because you don't fancy trying to hold on any longer, that's stealing a win. He wasn't knocked out, he faked it. He was knocked down in the 10th, was on the run in the 11th, there was no guarantee he'd hold on. I have no respect for Dirrell as a boxer because he doesn't come to fight, he just flicks out a couple of fast flashy punches that do little damage and then gets on his bike. There should be penalties in boxing for negative tactics.

    @barnabychesterman7620@barnabychesterman762011 жыл бұрын
  • Its obvious Dirrell landed the cleaner more effective shots! They were scoring a lot of Golovkin's body shots but Golovkin's shots seemed less effective. But this is amateur boxing and it seems very inconsistent. Maybe the judges gave it to him because he was busier and seemed like the stalker!

    @MrSmurf459@MrSmurf45910 жыл бұрын
    • wrong, if Dirrell did so peachy, why the fuck was Dirrell's corner so panicked after every single round? EVEN DIRRELL's own CORNER saw GGG winning, for fucks sake. Dirrell put on more of a show than GGG , moving more , but he looked sloppy and off-balance compared to GGG.

      @Pumpkingilmour@Pumpkingilmour10 жыл бұрын
    • Just because his corner is yelling at him it doesn't necessarily mean he lost the round or he was panicking! And to be honest i feel they both looked sloppy! Its amateur boxing and a lot of amateur fights look sloppy!
