    • Agreed. Sparring is training just like anything else but some guys out there don't get that concept and try to take your head off. There's gyms where I'm from that support trying to knock each other out in sparring even if guys have fights coming up.

  • Impressive by GGG, just going easy but more mixing it with larger guy and working on defense - his best defense is actually his style; so he comes forward all the time, even against Farah who is much bigger at no point does he get pushed back, so he moves forward which means the other guy fights on the back foot all the time, which wears him out, its a really good offensive move and he cuts the ring off really well, look here and GGG always works him into a corner, and then uses power to negate the other guys attempt to move out, very clever stuff, also doesnt use as much energy - but as be punches so hard guys tend to be wary and move back.

  • I think what i like about Golo most is his ability to slide up to his opponent ever so cunning to be able to unload on them. His power I think comes from how he throws the punch so fundamentally correct with the elbow behind the fist and the big knuckles landing 1st, like Tszyu did. It's just that GGG moves more gracefully than did Tszyu. fuck the hype, you can't fool hardcore fans that study the sport and have also participated. GGG IS the real deal.

  • Well this is the highest level Golovkin is a world champion with a 350-5 amateur record Im sure hes way passed the stage of trying to be a tough guy in the gym, these sparring sessions are all about footwork, movement and ring generalship.Youll see how hard this guy hits when he lays out Gabriel Rosado in his next fight.

  • Golovkin is a fuckin legend apart from being one of the best in recent memory and beating canelo 2 times, he is such a gentleman he never takes liberties in sparring with anyone everything has a purpose he knows how powerful he is and how good he is he just takes sparring as a timing/conditioning regiment, I really believe being to nice held gennady back from being even greater I honestly believe he does not like hurting people it's just his job to feed his family

    • +Ape Caesar It probably sounds weird, but i believe GGG's power is (a bit) overrated. Yes, he has BIG power, but these KO's happen because he's a good boxer aswell, cutting off the ring, great combinations, very active, relentless, walking everyone down. Does he have One Punch KO power? I'd say Macklin & Ishida would agree. But most guys (Lemieux, Murray, Adama, Stevens, and Rosado) were broken down over the rounds with barrages of punches. I really doubt GGG would land a hook & knock Floyd out, BUT after Maidana i believe, GGG can walk him down aswell, but Floyd lasts 3 minutes more than Murray & loses a decision. Similar as the technician Hopkins against the stronger Kovalev. GGG by UD...

  • If little G is not moving up then why should Ward move up to light heavyweight ? Still Ward might be victorious that will make little G more scared then he is right now ! i really like Golovkin and his style but he should go up to fight Ward and down to 155 to get Canelo job done which im sure he is capable of and thats what will turn him to ppv king like floyd and will make alot of money and retire as a Legend like SRR or Mohammad Ali because he is on his peak as an athlethe now

Yes, they SHOULD fight, but in the future after Golovkin is Undisputed and Ward takes a shot at Kovalev, to which they should meet at the middle and fight at Super Middleweight.

    • +Klefty Ko I wouldn't consider it a schooling when all youre doing is aiming for a victory by points. Lara rarely schools as much as he avoids any combat area; Ward will keep his distance so much that he would be out of his own range as well. Ward might win, but Golovkin also has a valid chance of winning. Dont go on praising someone who was good 2-3 years ago when he just struggled in his returning match. Give Ward 1-2 matches before considering him a god.
