    • @@hugoboss3946 yeah. I remember in highschool, it was all about how strong your arm was. I get technique and all that shit and the other critics saying "oh his elbow is still on the cushion so he isn't using his body weight" blah blah blah. He is using his body's momentum and WEIGHT to win. It should be all about the techniques of the different ways to use your wrist and opponents wrist against them, and pulling their arm towards you to extend their arm and make them have less leverage. That's how it should be done. Not throwing your whole damn body at the floor to win

      @ronross9053@ronross90533 жыл бұрын
    • @@ronross9053 no, if it was just body weight he wouldn't win, and that's the same shit about using arms strength, that would be unfair. The technique is the way and that's it.

  • Its impressive to watch! Everybody complaining about putting his bodyweight in: its not that simple, because the opponents could do it also... What I see is , he has a major pectoral strenght, combined with the upper back. once locked in, his arm does not change any angle, he just moves the whole body. Thats not easy!! His starting position allows to bring in a bit of triceps, a muscle much stronger than the biceps. Also his forearm is very strong, he keeps twisting the opponents hands. They could do that too, but he‘s stronger. With the twist, he opens up the angle on opponents arm, so the leverage is weaker. Edit: as a teen 17-19 yo (56kg), I barely had a match till 90kg bodyweight (average person, not the highly trained). I had a similar technique: I locked my arm with pectoral , upper back and forearm to max tension, then I pushed with my shoulder and bodyweight.

    @lone-wolf-1@lone-wolf-13 жыл бұрын
    • Axy-dent-ly -einsamerWolf- master-of-desaster You key sentence there is “..once locked in..” The angle between his wrist, forearm, and upper arm. Once he locks that in, he does NOT budge.

      @ericknopf2109@ericknopf21093 жыл бұрын
    • His body, height and training is different. He goes for 100% leverage advantage and fast twitch training. He had issues against guys who hold like Devon or Monster. This types will nullify his technique unless he finds a way to extend his stamina.

    • @@matthewcraig3837 i can see by your picture you do arm wrestle, but this video is a prime example that technique plays a much larger role than strength. Of course if you come across someone far stronger than you then technique or not you will lose but the way this guy wins all his wrestles against stronger opponents is with his technique, his stance, his ability to go on "go" and the way he turns the other guy's hand towards him to remove their power is to name but a few.

    • Power alone can only take you so far, same with technique alone. You need both, and i don't think it's so one-dimentional that you can explain it in percentages. You need lots of both, but it has more layers to it than only strength and technique. Strategy, genetics, type of musclefibers (slow/fast), conditioning, mindset, reading your opponent, gripstrength (and/or cuppingability), your tendons, experience, trainingregime, and so on... You could simplify a debate about clueless commoners that armwrestle, in which maybe some basic technique/experience will win over power alone. We have all seen the smaller guy win over a big guy at the local bar, but in the top elite armwrestling its a different ballpark. You are both right and wrong :)
